Apple still advertising iOS 13 on the iPod Touch product page

    Posted: 18 Oct 2020 09:07 PM PDT

Just a small detail I came across while browsing the landing page for the iPod Touch 7th gen on Apple's website. When you click 'See what's new in iOS 13 >' it takes you to the iOS 14 page.

Do you think the lack of updates to the advertising for the iPod Touch signals the imminent retirement of the iPod product line? Just curious to hear your thoughts about it.

Would Apple ever ditch the numbering scheme on iPhone?

    Posted: 18 Oct 2020 06:16 AM PDT

I thought they might when it got past iPhone X, but nope. Now, we're on iPhone 12; next year will probably be iPhone 12S; but, after that, I think we're going to get to the point where the iPhone design reaches its end goal of being a completely bezel-less phone. Then, iPhones will just be small, incremental/internal updates that don't warrant a whole number change.

I could just see them going: iPhone mini, iPhone, iPhone Pro, iPhone Pro Max, and doing the iPad naming convention with an ordinal generation. I hope they do, anyway. If you look at Samsung, they've got the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and lord only knows when they're going to stop that name.

Hermit Crab: Video organizer / Video player

    Posted: 18 Oct 2020 07:18 PM PDT

I made a video organizer / video player app called Hermit Crab for Mac and released it for free.

It has a few nice (..I think) features that I really wanted to have.

    • Password-protected DB
    • Rate, tag, and take a note
    • Drag-and-drop from the web-browser
    • Browser extensions for Safari and Chrome
    • Snowfall Video Player
    • Encrypted Containers
    • You can keep using your disk folders and just use Hermit Crab as a navigator.

I hope you all like it!

I made a modern tally counter app with support for Widgets, Shortcuts and iCloud. Available for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, would love for you to check it out

    Posted: 18 Oct 2020 08:51 AM PDT

Count Me is a simple, yet powerful app for counting stuff. You can have as many counters as you want and easy track all of them from a single screen. You can tap of them to increment their value or use custom actions like swipes and double tap to update them as you want.

The app is available for iOS, iPadOS and WatchOS and uses iCloud to sync all the data between devices. You can set some widgets for easy view and access and also use shortcuts to integrate it in your automated flows or use Siri without opening the app.

Count Me is free, with no ads and no trackers. It offers a $1.99 one time purchase that unlocks folders (to better organize counters), alternate icons, and sorting features.

Give it a try, hope you'll enjoy it! 😃
