Posted: 10 Oct 2020 09:48 PM PDT My name is Valter and I make Liftin' Workout Tracker, a gym app for iPhone and Apple Watch inspired by apps made by Apple. I have released some big updates the last couple of months and wanted to share them here as I usually get such great feedback from you guys! If you want a free promo code, send me a message! Leave the comments for discussion and feedback. I will throw in a Lifetime promo code for a randomly selected user! 🥳 What's new in Liftin'
The number one program users have been asking for is the nSuns powerlifting program. It's a complex program with some concept that just hasn't been supported by Liftin'. Training max relative weights, Amrap sets, variable weights for automatic progression are things I have added to Liftin' throughout the year and I can finally announce that everything needed for nSuns is now possible in the app! Out of the box you can select a 4- 5- or 6-day variant of the program and you can customise them with different exercises to fit your needs! All the features mentioned are of course applicable to any program you create yourself as well.
Every year I'm excited to implement new features to Liftin' enabled by system level capabilities, and this year I have of course added widgets support. There are many ways you could build a widget, and I think a lot of information isn't actually that useful on the home screen. I decided to keep it simple and create an "Up Next" Widget. It shows you a preview of your next workout and supposedly if you put the widget in a stack, the system should learn your habits and show it at times when the information makes sense to you, like before your workouts.
When I first built Liftin' for Apple Watch two years ago I constantly worked on the limit of possibilities given by the system. I couldn't have been happier last year when SwiftUI was announced, but unfortunately I later found out that some key features where missing that made a SwiftUI version of Liftin' impossible. This year those limitations have been resolved and I have rebuilt the Watch app from scratch! I think it turned out great with a much less cramped interface (timer is no longer obscuring your next set) as well as improved overall stability.
This was an interesting piece of feedback I had never thought about but apparently some gyms (many in Australia and New Zeeland) have some equipment in Kg and some in Lbs. This have been a problem for users since Liftin' only allows for one of them being picked. I have now added an option per equipment to choose metric or imperial, and you can also choose if you want everything converted to one of them in the Progress tab or if you want them mixed there as well. Thanks to everyone who are using Liftin' and sending me feedback! You help me make the app better! 🙏 You can follow me on Twitter @liftinApp if you want all the latest updates. I'm looking forward hearing your feedback! 🙂 PS. If you want to join the beta program (which is free) I have some spots there as well, you can sign up here. PPS. A Spanish translation of the app is in progress. German and French is up next! If you speak any of those languages (and the gym-lingo) and are interested in helping me out with the translations, let me know! [link] [comments]

Alpenglow v6.0 - Sunrise & Sunset Quality Forecasts & Times Posted: 10 Oct 2020 11:11 PM PDT Alpenglow started as an experiment a few years ago to try and crowdsource whether a sunrise/sunset was good or not to then alert people nearby missing out. As a lover of sunsets, I would always be mad if I looked outside and saw the remnants of a stunning sky, realizing I had missed the best light. Since then, smarter people than I have built algorithms to calculate quality forecasts for Sunrise and Sunset which Alpenglow now uses to display forecasts for your location ahead of time alongside times for Sunrise, Sunset & Golden hours. Version 6 brings with it a whole heap of iOS 14 changes and a total rewrite in SwiftUI...
Coming in the next few updates…
I'd love to hear any feedback. Alpenglow is also at r/Alpenglow if you want to send it over there. Thanks r/apple! [link] [comments]
Magic Lasso Adblock v2.4 just released – 10 free promo codes inside Posted: 10 Oct 2020 09:36 PM PDT We've recently released v2.4 of our Safari ad blocking app, Magic Lasso Adblock. To celebrate the release, we're giving away 10 promo codes to the annual Pro subscription. The optional Pro version enables features such as Battery Boost, background updates and full Allowlist functionality. The app can be downloaded for free from the: We'll be giving away the promo codes to random commenters via DM. Will update this post once all codes have been given away. In version 2.4 the "Whitelists" feature has been renamed to "Allowed Sites" based upon feedback we've received from our users. v2.4 has also optimised memory usage of the Magic Lasso extension (which leads to significant efficiency improvements) and has fixed a few nagging ad block rule issues; including improving behaviour for email links, package tracking sites, Google sponsored links and deal sites. Thanks r/apple for the support! [link] [comments]
