| IpadPT: Increase the Life of Your Apple Pencil Nubs Posted: 24 Sep 2020 09:30 AM PDT I have an Apple Pencil (2nd Generation). The other day, I started writing and noticed my pencil started scratching the surface of my screen protector. I thought it was time for new nibs. Before I ordered, I found that you can unscrew the nib place it back on the pencil at a different rotation. This will increase the life expectancy of your nibs. Now the part of the nib that scratches the screen is on the backside of my pencil and I feel like I'm writing with a new nib. Hope this helps! edit: nub to nib. [link] [comments]  | ||

| iPad 2018 12.9" - Taking into Genius Bar Posted: 24 Sep 2020 05:05 AM PDT So I recently bought a iPad that is still in limited warranty till the end of the year, and I've noticed that some parts of the screen can be unresponsive to the pencil and also I cannot set up faceID for some reason. I've made an appointment to go to the apple store tomorrow, but I've noticed tiny chips in the outside casing of the iPad. Will this affect my ability to get a warranty replacement? The chip is not near where the problems are and not on the screen but I'm worried they will blame that. [link] [comments]  | ||

| iPad Pro 10.5 inch sometimes only charges through the smart connector Posted: 23 Sep 2020 08:35 PM PDT I have an iPad Pro 10.5 inch 256gb WiFi model and things with charging started to get weird around the beginning of this year. First it began in January of this year with the battery health menu stuck in an infinite loop loading. I restored it and everything and no luck and I gave up; (I found out 2 weeks ago that I could check the health through my computer and it's at 85% capacity). Next it was some lighting cables that works on my iPhone and other people's device would not work on my iPad; only 1 meter cables worked while 2 meter ones did not. I took it into Apple all they offered was a replacement for $449 or trade it in (This was one month after my AppleCare+ expired so that sucked). Around the same time (I don't remember when but it was either January or February) my iPad's battery on standby would die if I didn't charge it. Along with that, my battery would drain much faster with the Smart Keyboard attached. Also, when it died, it would take one-three hours to come back to life. I ended up getting used to all those problems and I just dealt with it and no new issues arose up until August. Around that time, I bought the Logitech combo touch for my iPad and I loved it. However, two weeks later, I forgot to charge my iPad and usually I would plug it back in but I noticed three days plugged in and nothing; no battery logo and never booted up. I got worried but couldn't do anything because no Apple Appointments were available. When I finally managed to get one, they did a test to check if any current was going through the lighting port and it failed. We all thought it was completely dead and I couldn't get any trade-in value so I just left. Not even 10 minutes after I left, I thought of the idea of charging my iPad through the smart connector. Fortunately, when looking for one there was a stand by logitech that charge the iPad through the smart connector. However, it was $70 for a refurbished one and no one else made a cable or stand that used the Smart connector. I purchased it with the intention to return it later. When it arrived, I immediately put my iPad on the dock and I saw the battery logo and then eventually the Apple logo. When testing if the lightning cable works, it worked again. I thought this was extremely weird and so I decided to drain my iPads battery and when I plugged it in when it was dead the lightning cable worked. It wasn't until two weeks later that the battery logo did not appear when dead and the lightning cable did not charge it but the smart connector dock did. At this point I may just end up buying the new iPad Pro but I'm worried about it because of the rumored mini led iPad Pro coming at the end of this year or early next year. Is there any explanation on why my iPad is doing this? Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||
