    Is there a difference in what iOS/iPad OS can do on an iPad Pro vs an iPad Air?

    I'm curious if the iPad Pro will have a different OS experience than the iPad Air, besides being snappier and having Face ID.

    So over the past two weeks, the only computer I used was an iPad Air 3 and an iPhone 11. my experience tells me that iPads can't be my only computer. There is too much that it doesn't do.     iPads are really good for doing one thing at a time. But if you wanna do multiple tasks at once, iPads either just can't do it or it becomes very complicated. For instance, researching a topic while taking notes is such a cumbersome task without a clipboard manager (if you don't know what that is you need ditto on your windows machine)

    iPad doesn't allow for any complicated text expansion. There is a text expansion option in setting but that has stayed the same since the dawn of time. As an advanced user who send similar emails, uploads videos with similar description, writes documents that follow a similar but identical pattern I would have really benefitted from something like auto text expander or autohotkey on iPad

    Also, if Apple wants to embrace magic keyboard and smart keyboards as extensions to their iPads, they should bring the universal keyboard shortcuts to iPadOS. As of right now, we have an accessibility setting that allows you to use keyboard shortcuts, but it is not ideal. It doesn't just work. There are highlights on your screen. Some of the traditional keyboard controls break if you turn full keyboard control on.

    to sum it up, i think iPads are good for most tasks and people who use it as their only computer, I respect them for being able to figure out how to make this thing work. But as someone who uses autohotkey, auto text expander, whatsapp web application with notifications, eartrumpet to control volume for multiple audio sources (background music while editing videos) on my windows PCs, I think for me iPads are great as a secondary computer, not as my primary computer.

    Affordable case for writing

    Hi everyone! I currently own an 11 inch iPad Pro 2018 and I'm looking for a case that allows me to set the iPad to a low tilt angle to make writing easier. I currently use the Apple Keyboard Folio but I realised I do more writing than typing and it isn't really that great for writing. I just want something that will prop my iPad up from the table at a slight angle so that I can write on an elevated screen!

    Any suggestions will be appreciated! Thank you :)

    MOST iPad Pro models are currently unavailable on the apple store and long waits for delivery (30th sept+)... they are updating these shortly... surely this info helps to confirm it

    edit 1:Most iPad airs also currently unavailable. delivery 23rd sept+

    edit 2:Most iPads and iPad minis are still available, so I doubt these will be updated

    edit 3:All Mac 21.5inch models currently unavailable. delivery 23rd sept+

    edit 4:Macbook pro 13inch models mostly currently unavailable...

    I believe the Macs being updated may start coming with apple's SoC's and not with intel chips, the models that are unavailable are the lower grade versions of their bigger options e.g. 21.5 inch Mac and 13 inch MacBook pro.

    is it possible to start videos in sync on multiple ipads?

    Is it possible to copy a videofile to 3 different Ipads and then trigger them to play the video at the exact same time? Or is there another easy way to archive the same outcome - the same video in sync on the 3 screens? thx!

    So I'll be editing a pdf with my pencil and then I'll just go to a completely random page because I rest my hand on the screen while writing. Apple, please give the option to move the bar to the left, bottom, and top also.

    Do I need a carry case if the iPad is in my backpack?

    I have a Logitech combo touch keyboard and I'm carrying my iPad to school everyday. Should I be worried/should I get some sort of pouch or is it fine if just carry it in the keyboard case?

    has ANY game implemented "mouse and keyboard" mode yet?

    I figured the vast majority of games will implement KBM once iOS14 public is released, but I'm still sort of surprised that none of the games that I'm aware of (PUBG, CoD, etc) have yet to implement the code in any of the betas.

    Just curious if there is any known game out there that has taken the plunge yet?

    Need a stand for Video Conference

    I need a good stand for video conference calls on my new iPad Pro. The issue is I have the Hyperdrive 6-1 attached to be able to keep other devices connected. Most stands have grips at the bottom to hold the iPad into place.

    Does anyone have a good option to recommend?

    iPad Pro 10.5 (2017) - $99 battery replacement questions

    I have a iPad Pro 10.5 from 2017 that I really started noticing the battery failing while being mostly stuck at home due to pandemic (if I would have noticed it 3 months ago it was under AppleCare...the battery started seeming like a problem about 1 month after my coverage ended).

    I am interested in the $99 battery replacement option. I don't have an easy way to see battery health (don't have a Mac and don't necessarily trust the tools anyway...I assume there are some for Windows).

    1) Is the best way to initiate this with an Apple Store (haven't even checked if the one 30 minutes from me is even open right now) or online and mail it in?

    2) It looks like the $99 battery replacement is paid up front...I assume paying this $99 guarantees me a direct replacement iPad with a new battery?

    3) From everything I have read they do not replace the battery directly, just send you the same sku refurbished with a new battery? So definitely need to wipe my device before sending it in.

    Alternative to jump desktop with microphone redirection?

    I need to remote control my work PC from home. RDP is disabled on my work PC but I can connect to it via Jump Desktop. Unfortunately Jump Desktop does not allow microphone redirection which I require to remote skype. Does anyone know an app that does pass through the microphone?

    Any app/extension recs for annotating within a lockdown browser?

    I am currently in all online university. In one of my courses, we are required to use a lockdown browser (HonorLock) that monitors our screens and surroundings for exams. Our exams are required to be filled out using the annotation function in Canvas (a university app for course work) and HonorLock only uses Chrome. I am really trying to find a way to use my iPad for this exam, but am really struggling finding an app or set-up that will allow for a Chrome browser to monitor my screen (macbook) while also letting me annotate on the iPad. Sorry for a kind of confusing question, but I hope there is another student or professor out there who can help.

    Skype for iPad camera issues

    When I am using Skype over iPad and want to put skype in the background, the app keeps turning off my camer so the other person cant see me. Also I cant seem to find the option to have an overlay when doing stuff outside of Skype. I only ever used Skype on Windows before where all this was standard.

    Is iPadOS 14 Beta Stable Enough to Reasonably Run Now?

    I use my iPad everyday for WFH college, and I'd really like to start using some of the features in iOS 14. That said, I can't have my device glitching out or bricked. Would it be reasonable to go ahead and get iOS 14 right now or should I just wait for the official release?
