- How come on some AppleTVs, when you're on the search screen for any app like this, pressing the microphone button allows you to search the app itself so you don't have to type, while on others launch siri and search the whole AppleTV? Where is that setting?

I have an Apple TV 4K running tvOS 14 development latests beta via wired Ethernet connection. This is the first time the YouTube videos I watch are stuttering and freezing. | Seeing random horizontal lines Posted: 07 Sep 2020 06:37 AM PDT I'm using a new Apple TV 4K with my vizio quantum M series 4K tv and I'm having an issue where I randomly see lines (usually white or red) flash on the screen. I haven't had this problem when using built in apps on the tv. I tried buying a new hdmi cable (a Phillips cable that said it can do 4K HDR on the box) but I'm still having this problem. I have it set to 4K SDR 60hz with match content on. As a side note, it also won't let me turn Dolby vision on even though my tv is supposed to be able to. I normally use Netflix but this doesn't support Apple TV Channels which unlocator does support. I just did a test using the developer video HUB and found that Disney+ (Star Wars solo)- Auto DNS = 3840x 2160 average 16 to 24 Mbps - Unloactor DNS = 2560 x1440 average 8 to 12 Mbps Apple TV+ - Auto DNS = 3840x 2160 average 28 to 47 Mbps - Unloactor DNS = 3840x 2160 ( Does drop to 1440 and 1080) average 8 to 17 Mbps Anyone got any ideas how to fix this? | New to Apple ecosystem, is Apple TV for me? Posted: 07 Sep 2020 08:56 AM PDT I got an iPhone and iPad within last 6 months. I currently use an Nvidia shield for streaming in living room. I'm looking to add another streaming box to bedroom. I'm not clear how the Apple TV compares to Nvidia shield. I use plex on shield and share content with some family members. I have Apple TV+ for free from my iPad purchase, but I can't watch it on shield. I use a Happauge usb tuner with plex live tv that lets me watch ota antenna channels on my shield. I have all the major streaming subscriptions on shield. I have fooled around with some iptv apps on the shield if I come across m3u files to load some channels. I also like playing Apple Arcade games on my iPad. Not sure how well those games play on Apple TV. I guess I'm trying to figure out what I gain with an Apple TV vs. what I sacrifice when compared to shield. Thanks for any input. [link] [comments]  | ||
