Posted: 24 Sep 2020 09:57 PM PDT Here are some facts about me: I don't game much but looking to join my brothers/friends on Steam I'm a student. 4 years in for a 2 year degree with 2 more left. 3 years maximum. I know there are deals going on for fall term, and I'm curious if a standard 13" MacBook Pro is the best grab or should I go a bit beyond that? [link] [comments] |

How do I backup my MacBook to an external hard drive? Posted: 24 Sep 2020 09:33 PM PDT Hi all, I'm getting my MacBook air (13" early 2015) battery replaced tomorrow so I'm trying to backup (via Time Machine) my laptop to an external hard drive. After I do though it says "Latest Backup: 8 December 2019". I've been trying to backup to my external hard drive and so to test whether it's worked or not I went into recovery mode to try and restore from said backups and yeah, the last backup from last December even though I've been doing it NOW? Does anyone know what to do as I'm starting to stress. I use this laptop for school so i can't afford to lose my stuff. I'm currently on macOS Mojave 10.14.4. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Sep 2020 09:28 PM PDT Hi guys, I have a MacBook pro, mid-2014, model number A1502, and I was wondering if it was possible for me to run this laptop with an M.2 drive and also upgrade to the Catalina operating system, is that possible? I keep looking over at the system requirements for Catalina and it just says SSD, but you would think that this day and age it should just be easy to run this technology with a brand new operating system no? Anyways let me know what you guys think. [link] [comments] |
I can't add songs to my iphone 7 Posted: 24 Sep 2020 05:12 PM PDT I got a new iphone 7 and connected it to my mac. But some songs say "Add to device" and when i add them, they don't sync, it's really frustrating and I want a solution. Can someone help? [link] [comments] |
Mojave Dynamic Login Wallpaper Posted: 24 Sep 2020 08:52 PM PDT My 2017 Macbook Pro (10.14.6) uses the dynamic Mojave background on Desktop 1. A blurred version of that is thus used as the login screen wallpaper. However, when rebooting my laptop said wallpaper is displayed in the state it was in before the machine shut down i.e. if I shut it down at 10pm, upon turning it on at 8am the blurred background at the login screen will be of the desert at 10pm. This is super annoying, because every time I turn it on in the morning I'm presented with a dark login screen corresponding to when I shut it off the previous night. After I login and logout again, the properly corresponding image is displayed. Is this inherent to dynamic wallpapers, or is there a setting somewhere I forgot to proc? [link] [comments] |

Best place to get Iphone Battery Replaced Posted: 24 Sep 2020 08:14 PM PDT I have an original iphone SE, and after it's battery slowly deteriorated over the last few years it's finally getting a bit dysfunctional (turning off after leaving it plugged in all night and going from 100% on shutting down to 10-20% on waking up, staying stuck at percentage like 30% or 19% and turning off after a while-still usable, but definitely time for replacement). Is it more effective to get it replaced by Apple (which I assume will cost a lot) or some independent repair chain? I'm in the UK. Also, replacing the battery wouldn't do anything to the data inside, right? [link] [comments] |
I haven’t gotten the new update Posted: 24 Sep 2020 08:08 PM PDT I haven't gotten the iOS 14 update. I have an XR and when I go to the update section it says I'm up to date when I'm not. What can i do about this? [link] [comments] |
I tried to update my iPhone SE (2020) to the latest 14.0.1 update and now I can't use my phone. Posted: 24 Sep 2020 03:58 PM PDT It has me stuck on a page saying to go to apple support's website and I've tried hard resetting and restoring it multiple times. It says it can't restore. I would appreciate some help if anyone else has ran into a similar situation. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Can’t Disband Family Sharing - “Family Has Other Members” Posted: 24 Sep 2020 07:20 PM PDT I am trying to disband family sharing on our account. I had a child account on the plan and Apple support told me I either had to move the account to another family or delete it. I chose to delete it as it was no longer needed. Now my family sharing shows no members, but I still get the error message of "Family Has Other Members" when trying to disband the family. Anyone run into this? The child Apple ID was deleted about 4 days ago. Do I just need to wait a little longer? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Sep 2020 01:11 PM PDT I have a 2019 27" 5K iMac with a 3GHz 6-core i5 and Radeon Pro 570X 4GB running MacOS 11.0 Beta. This computer has become so slow that it's nearly unbearable. Simple tasks like copy/pasting text, opening my Calendar app, and even right-clicking on the desktop take 3-5 seconds to respond each time without any other apps running. If I use mildly intensive apps like Lightroom or Photoshop, they either freeze for minutes at a time or crash repeatedly. I'm sure it's the beta because the computer was great before I installed. Can I factory reset this machine and reinstall Catalina until Big Sur is available to the public? I did NOT do a Time Machine backup as everything I need is stored on an external SSD. What's the easiest way to do this? My 13" base-spec MBP opens apps faster and is more responsive than my iMac which should not be happening :| [link] [comments] |
Is there a way I can recover notes and photos? Posted: 24 Sep 2020 06:54 PM PDT I had two apple IDs and was asked if I wanted to merge them not fully understanding what that meant & it deleted all my notes and photos.. is there a way to undo this? [link] [comments] |

How do you turn sleep mode off after waking up? Posted: 24 Sep 2020 06:25 PM PDT I'm so confused. I started using sleep mode with a bedtime and wake up alarm after upgrading to iOS 14. When I wake up, I usually snooze a couple times, then get up. I cannot figure out how to turn the alarm off after I'm up. It seems I have to wait for the alarm, and then press "dismiss". But I don't know how to turn it off before the next snooze cycle elapses and then the alarm goes off during my work call. [link] [comments] |

Ask permission before changing Bluetooth audio connections? Posted: 24 Sep 2020 06:08 PM PDT Is there a way to force the iPhone to ask before switching audio devices? I have a Bluetooth receiver in my room that my phone switches to whenever I get in range. It's irritating because when I'm mowing the lawn and using AirPods, I get in range of my room every so often and I have to stop and switch the audio back to my headphones. I end up forcing the phone to forget that device until I want to reconnect. I'm sick of it. Is there a setting I can change? [link] [comments] |
Ipad 6th gen is stuck in recovery mode w/ error 9 always at the same point in iTunes restore. Posted: 24 Sep 2020 05:47 PM PDT I have an iPad 6th generation cellular that is now locked in recovery mode. This happened once before and I managed to get it back out by saving the relevant firmware in the iTunes iPad update folder and restoring it that way (instead of waiting for it to download and therefore timeout every time.) I figured this would be the same case again, but now whenever I try to restore my iPad in iTunes, it always gets to the 'restoring iPad firmware' phase and suddenly black screens, then gives me the error 9 message. This is about 55% to 60% in the restore process, and it is always at this point. I timed it several times to make sure it wasn't a typical 15 minute timeout problem. I have tried a windows PC and a Mac, with all of their different USB ports and 2 different USB cables and none of that worked. I am now reading that third party software is the solution, but I am dubious to pay money for something that might not even solve the issue at this point, and none of them seem to offer restore options on the free trial versions. I have also tried to stop my anti virus and also disable my firewall, and doing this had no effect on the error 9 message either. The iPad is in the typical lightning cable to laptop screen if that helps. Thanks guys [link] [comments] |
