Was at a casino pool and I think the 110 degree heat roasted my iPhone, even though it was in the shade covered by t-shirts. I have tried charging it multiple times and never any success, it gets hot very quickly and hasn't been able to turn back on in the 24 hours after. Should I be taking it into an Apple store? It sat there for a couple of hours and probably got some water in it, though I thought iPhone Xs were water resistant. Anyways, I leave the pool and use my phone a few hours later and the screen seems to be glitching out. Everything seems to be working fine, but randomly and for a random amount of time, colors on the screen turn blue and vertical lines appear. It goes away at random and a restart hasn't fixed anything. Shutting it down seems to turn the screen white for a few seconds. It's almost as if the colors are inverted. Is there anything I can do? | Posted: 02 Aug 2020 10:30 PM PDT Hello all. I have an iPhone X that I have had since Jan 2018. I am having an issue where recently in the past week or so my phone just decides it wants to reboot. I will be on a call or on an app and it will just reboot. Thinking oh maybe I need to update my software to 13.6 I did that yesterday. The issue is still happening. I have tried force restarting my phone and it is still rebooting. I will be mid conversation and it will be a black screen till I turn it back on then it will be the apple logo for about a minute and be on. Same with apps. I am not sure what is going on or what to do. Also the only thing different I did was upgrade my storage to the cloud so I can store a full back up there. [link] [comments]  |

My iPhone has very little free space so I assume that's why the phone deletes certain apps to save space or something. | 2016 IPhone 7+ not updating with true storage space Posted: 02 Aug 2020 04:58 PM PDT Hey guys, I have an IPhone 7+ which I have had since late 2016. This phone has been all around the world with me since then and has taken a LOT of beatings. I will post some issues I have had below to give you an idea of the shape the phone is in. Most of these things I have lived with because of money issues: -For the last around 6 months the battery has been in critical status which gives me a lot of power issues (I wake up at 100% and after using it in the bathroom for 30 minutes it is under 20%). -The screen is in bad shape as well with small missing pieces allowing me to see the inside of the phone. -The speakers and volume control can be really bad while playing music -I can't hear anything through the normal top speaker, so I have to take all my calls on speakerphone. The big issue here is my storage. Over the last 2 weeks I have had storage issues which will block me from using apps like WhatsApp. Over the last few days I have had to delete almost every app and all of my pictures (over 10k) from the phone to keep using WhatsApp. The phone is practically empty now, except for a few apps which are necessary. However, the phone still acts like I have all of my photos on it (showing 2.6gb of space taken). It can't be right. I'm at a loss of why this is happening. Is the phone just so messed up at this point that it's at the end of the road? Does anyone have any ideas on why it would still show this much storage being taken up or why it isn't updating with the true available storage? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 02 Aug 2020 11:47 AM PDT I've had this problem for a few months now, my bottom mic doesn't seem to be working, I used an app which allowed me to test them all and the front/back mic worked but the bottom is just muffled with background noise. Because of this I can't record my voice on apps like Snapchat/Instagram because I'm assuming they use the bottom mic, although it works completely fine on Siri, calls, or just the normal camera. Another thing I found weird is that I still have the same problem if I try and record with my Airpods which is strange cause that's a seperate mic all together? I've tried cleaning out the bottom mic with compressed air, gently using a toothpick, everything but can't get it back to normal. [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone SE 2020 shut off without warning, won’t power back on. Posted: 02 Aug 2020 10:32 AM PDT On Friday, my iPhone SE shut down without warning. It had about 65% charge on it. I tried powering it on, but no luck. I then tried rebooting it by holding the power button and the home button simultaneously, but I noticed that the home button was locked, for lack of a better word, i.e. I couldn't press it. (This is my first new phone since I bought a 6s 4 years ago, so i'm not sure if that's a new feature or what.) Online I found several sources suggesting to quickly press and release the volume up button, then quickly press and release the volume down button, then press and hold the power button down until the Apple logo appears. Tried this several times, holding the power button down for various lengths of time ranging from 5 seconds to 1 minute, but it didn't work. Then yesterday, suddenly my phone booted back up on its own, and it stayed on for about 5 minutes, only to shut down once again. Tried all of the same steps I outlined above with the same results. | Restricting a single app on a schedule? Posted: 02 Aug 2020 12:58 PM PDT Can I make it so I can't use one particular app between certain times, but everything else is allowed? I've used Screen Time and allowed all apps except one, getting someone else to set the Screen Time passcode so I don't know it. This works... but also restricts me from using websites, which isn't useful. I've tried running a shortcut that opens Calculator when opening the app in question (might be iOS 14 only?) but that only seems to work once then becomes unreliable. Can I tweak either of these techniques? Is there another way? Other than plain old willpower, which hasn't worked in the past. [link] [comments]  |
| iPhone 11 almost always hot and battery health at 90% after 8 months Posted: 02 Aug 2020 12:48 PM PDT bought my iPhone on January, during the first 2-3 months the battery health was a good 100%, but after a while it started to plummet and the iPhone started to heat up really fast and it's sometimes too hot, and it's just from daily basic usage like facebook or whatsapp and now the battery health at 90%. I should note that it didn't happen before I bought a fast charger (it's not Apple but it is Made For iPhone). my question is, is it a software or hardware issue. should I check it with my warranty? thanks for help. | Iphone 6s touch screen is not responding Posted: 02 Aug 2020 08:25 AM PDT So my iphone 6s' screen is not responding at all and from looking on the internet i saw that one solution is to restart my phone but the thing is that the home button has long been broken, i have assistive touch but obviously can't use that at all, the power and volume buttons still work though, so my question is how else can i restart or turn off my phone, if that is even possible in my situation? i believe the phone is on the ios version just before the latest but i can't check. | videos keep freezing in all apps Posted: 02 Aug 2020 06:55 AM PDT hi! for a while now ive had a problem where sometimes all videos will stop working... ill be going on tiktok and videos will pause/not load after 1 second, and the only thing that seems to work is to completely restart my phone.... but this happens regularly!!! on twitter, videos WILL play, as long as i dont click on them, then theyll pause after one second again... also happens on snapchat, reddit, inatagram etc... very annoying :( got any tips on how to fix this problem? i have an iphone 11 that i bought last year, but i didnt start getting this problem until the start of july somewhere... | Posted: 02 Aug 2020 05:13 AM PDT I am just done transferring 4.5GB of "files" from my laptop to the iphone 8 Plus by using this great iPhone App called SendAnyWhere but it literally took me 4-5 hours to complete the transfer. Maybe my laptop being a Windows 8.1 OS was slow but last year when I used an Android phone (Samsung Note 4) it took me half an hour, I just copy pasted it to my phone which was connected to the laptop. Well I guess this app is well suited for quick transfer of smaller files not larger ones. Is there a quicker way of sending 8GB of files from the Windows 8.1 laptop to your iPhone by copy and pasting it? My iPhone has 256GB internal memory so it has tons of storage. [link] [comments]  |
| water damaged my ipad sound system Posted: 02 Aug 2020 05:07 AM PDT My current ipad is a 32GB 6th generation wifi-only and i spilled some water on my ipad and immediately try to dry it, and then i soon realized that the ipad no longer produce sound, hence i tried to switch it off and turn it on again, but same thing, there is no sound. when i checked the volume bar, it says that i was on headphone, however that's not true, i turned off bluetooth, assuming that it was because of my airpods, however even after turning off bluetooth, it still shows that i am supposedly on headphones. right now, i am putting it in rice, hoping that in a day or 2, i would be able to turn it on and there will be sound. i need it for the school term, which is now, so i was wondering if i should blow dry it on low heat, so i can use it quicker, or should i just stick with the rice method? are there any better suggestions that any of you could recommend? that would be great [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 02 Aug 2020 03:20 AM PDT Hello all, very simply put, is there ANY way to restore non-backed iphone photos after a "erase all content and settings", and the phone's already been set up with a different apple id now. This is a XS Max running the latest IOS at the time of this post. Long story: My wife have 2 iphones, one 7S, one XS Max, both logged into the same apple ID. I have a icloud storage plan and are sharing the plan with her with family sharing option. We were sure that both her phones have the photo back up to icloud setting on, and she's been using both phones for a long time - the XS Max almost 2 years. She recently got a 11 pro Max, the plan is to switch the XS Max to 11 pro Max and gift the XS Max to a family member. Thinking that we have the comfort/convenience of icloud backup, and seeing thousands of photos appearing from cloud after setting up the new 11 pro Max via icloud..... We (I mean I) erased her XS Max and helped the family member to set it up with a different apple ID. Couple days later, we realized only her 7S photos are on her 11 pro Max, but none of her XS Max photos. I logged in to her icloud using the browser, and confirmed the worst fear that none of her XS Max photos are on the cloud. 1) I don't know how this could've happened, that one of her phone is backed up but not the other one, again we're pretty sure the setting specifically for photos are on - we're both very familiar with the settings. 2) Regardless how it has happened, is there any thing that we could do now to recover those photos?
