[Tutorial] A (Free) Solution for Creating Your Own Custom Ringtone Other than Using Sonic

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 12:55 PM PDT

A new Ringtone-Making Tweak has hit the market, which goes by the name of Sonic, hosted in this Repository: https://twickd.com/

For $1.99, it promises to make creating Ringtones a breeze, whether using music from online, or from your iPhone's Local Storage.

This sounds wonderful in theory, but in practice... not so much. Users (myself included) have noticed that when creating a ringtone with the Tweak, it doesn't actually show up in the "Ringtone" tab in settings. Whether this is a simple overlook by the developer or some type of incompatible code, I have no doubt that this issue will most likely be resolved in a short while.

For those of you not wanting to wait, though, I have come up with a way to make your own Ringtones, albeit a more complicated one. If you're willing to do a few extra steps, I have a guide below detailing exactly how to do it. Note three things: 1.) this is a slightly more complicated (but free) way, 2.) this only works with music stored on your device, and 3.) I'm not responsible for you damaging your device, although I think it's hardly possible for something to really go wrong if you just follow what I say.

    What you Need:

    Filza File Manager from BigBoss

    Files from the App Store

    Have this webpage open: https://www.zamzar.com/convert/mp3-to-m4r/

    The Process:

1.) After installing Filza and opening it, you'll be greeted with a page with a bunch of folders. You don't actually have to worry about those folders right now, though. Instead, what you're going to do is tap the little Star at the bottom toolbar. This will bring up your "Favorites" Menu. From here, you will see two sections, and in the lower section lies a folder named "Music Library." Tap on it to open it.

2.) You'll now see a page with all of the music thats stored on your device. Now it's up to you to find the song you want to use for your ringtone.

3.) Once found, tap the "Edit" button in the top right-hand corner, which will allow you to select the song you'd like to use. Once the song is located, select it. This will now show a different toolbar, and you'll want to tap on the icon on the farthest right-hand side. (It looks like a box with an arrow in it, and it says "More" underneath it.)

4.) A pop-up menu will now appear, with three options. Tap the one that says "Open In." From the menu that pops up, tap "Save to Files." You can then choose whatever folder you want to save it to. Note that the name will change once saved to the Files App, so I recommend creating a folder titled "Ringtones" and saving it there so it won't get lost.

5.) You can now open the webpage I linked above, which is just a file converter. (It's a completely safe site. There aren't any viruses or anything sketchy. All it does is convert files.)

6.) Once on the page, tap "Add Files." From the pop-up, tap "Browse." This should bring up the Files menu, where you can now navigate to the folder you saved your song to. Once found, select it. This will exit the menu and go back to the webpage. By default, converting to .m4r should be selected, but if not, just select it from the drop-down list.

7.) Tap "Convert Now." It will now start converting. Once it's done, you'll see a page that says "Download Your Converted File Now." When you tap on the file, a little dialogue box will pop-up saying "Do you Want to Download So-and-So?" Tap "Download." The download will now start, and once it's done, you can view it in Files.

8.) Now you can finally put the file into the Ringtones folder in Filza, although you may want to rename it first. (Do this in Files by long-pressing the file and tapping "Rename.")

9.) While in Files, tap "Select" in the top right corner, and tap on the file. Now press that same square with the arrow in it (Share button) and tap "Save to Filza" in the menu that pops up. You may have to scroll down to see it. Now it will bring up a Filza Menu. Make sure you have the "Documents" folder selected. Tap "Save" in the top right corner.

10.) Finally, open Filza and navigate to /var/mobile/Documents. You can now see your file. Tap "Select" in the top right, tap on the file, then tap "Copy" in the bottom toolbar. Now go back to "/" and navigate to /Library/Ringtones. Now tap the clipboard icon on the toolbar, and tap "Paste." Respring, and you can now see the Ringtone in the Ringtone Menu in Settings.

I know this was a long way of doing it, but it's just an alternate solution I came up with as opposed to buying Sonic.

[Paid Release] N95 - Seamless artwork masking for Apple Music & More

    https://preview.redd.it/jtpkmcntwuf51.png?width=2400&format=png&auto=webp&s=a4a210a13e941624bcab6b78fbe237546fb45115

    Introducing N95!

N95 is similar to previous tweaks such as Masq, and allows for custom masks, overlays and underlays. As of now, only the official Music app is supported for in-app theming, but lockscreen music player and control center module work as well. Other apps such as Spotify and Pandora will be added in a future update, as soon as it's working as smoothly as Music.

N95 has the same structure as Masq to help with the porting of themes. More info on creating themes for N95 can be found here. The next update will also search in "/Library/Application Support/MASQ", but for now preexisting Masq themes can be copied into "/Library/Application Support/N95".

Only dependency is Cephei and can be found on Chariz - Available on Twickd for $1.99

Submit bug reports here and if you have a request submit that here.

I know some tweaks have been released in the past for this but the only one I've been able to find is pretty bad and only changes some of the dark grey background to black. The most common result I get when I search is Harmony, but it is no longer on the Packix repo and I can't find it on any other repo.

[Request] Tweak to remove ads from browse pages on YouTube

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 02:59 PM PDT

    These ones:

    https://i.imgur.com/zX0NnIF.png

Are there any (free or cheap) YouTube tweaks that get rid of these? Seems like almost every "remove ads" YouTube tweak that I try, just inserts their own ads into the app in one way or another. Like one of them would pop up a banner ad along the bottom of the screen every time I changed tab or viewed a video. Fuckin' obnoxious.

[QUESTION] Is there a way to enable live wallpapers on the iPhone SE (2020 Edition)?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 02:48 PM PDT

A way to get live wallpapers on the iPhone SE (2020 edition)?

For some dumb reason Apple has decided to exclude the feature from the release (even if it has Haptic/3D touch and the specs of an iPhone 8/11). I've never jailbroken a device and the extent of my knowledge is basically that Cydia exists. Is there an easy way to enable the function on the phone?

[Discussion] Sileo Prevents Source Refresh while on ProtonVPN

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 11:49 AM PDT

If this is not the correct tag, please tell me.

I've been on Odyssey 13.5 for over 2 weeks now, and everything has been going well. No crashes, almost 100% Success rate, everything i wanted from Jailbreaking, it's basically heaven for my iPhone.

Due to technical reasons, i have to use a VPN most of the time to avoid censorship and packet sniffers, and i've noticed an odd behaviour whenever going on Sileo :

    Sources simply don't refresh.

It always ends up with every single source being "Unable to get release files for (enter source URL here) and i am then unable to add any source or simply look for updates.

I've tried every single country on ProtonVPN, P2P and Tor connections, less loaded servers, Plus servers. Nothing works.

Going on Cydia, everything works fine, and this applies to Zebra and Installer as well.

What is it that make Sileo simply not cooperate with the VPN i'm using ? This really seem bogus, and i'm starting to find this really suspicious.

Even the slightest comment with the intent to help will do, so if you've got an idea, feel free to share!

[request] A tweak that let’s you turn words into hyperlinks in notes

    Posted: 08 Aug 2020 11:24 PM PDT

I've tried to do it on notes like you would on word and it's not an option, so I made a word to hyperlink thing on word and tried to paste it over to notes and it just pasted the text not the link, this would be helpful for creating lists that involve links and keeping those lists organized
