Apple TV 4K, hdmi switcher, and auto switching Posted: 26 Aug 2020 04:42 PM PDT I currently am using the amazon fire stick, but I want to change to the Apple TV because it has some apps that are not available on the fire stick. My current setup uses an hdmi switcher and as long as the fire stick is in the last spot, all the stuff plugged into the switcher automatically changes the tv display to the device that is currently on. I was wondering if I get rid of the fire stick and replace it with the Apple TV if this will also work in the same way. I don't see why it wouldn't since the Roku I used to have also operated this way, but the Apple TV is expensive so I just don't want to take the chance without checking with someone that has tried it and had it work. Posted: 26 Aug 2020 06:22 PM PDT I live in Australia and up until the other day we were using my Xbox One and a USB Digital TV Tuner to watch live TV (the device plugs directly into an antenna). The Xbox has since died and I don't want to buy another one so close to the next generation. Does the AppleTV have a way of watching live TV natively? Through an app? Could I just plug the USB Digital TV Tuner straight in to an AppleTV and it would work the same way? Tried googling but was coming up short whether the AppleTV could actually connect to an antenna and also if that would work in Australia. [link] [comments] |
A4K drops ethernet connection after long sleep Posted: 26 Aug 2020 02:10 PM PDT Basically, if my apple tv has been sleeping for a long time, then after i wake it, the ethernet connection will have dropped and the device cant reach my network. putting it back to sleep and turning it back on doesn't help. The only thing that solves it is either - Physically power off the A4K at the wall plug, and turn it back on Any idea what could cause this? There are no problems with any of my other devices on the network that are physically connected to the router via ethernet. I tried various different cables as well, all with the same result. I seem like a software problem to me, that somehow it doesn't wake ethernet properly after a long sleep. But, if that's the case, I'd expect lots of other people to have problems with this. So, I was just wondering if any of you guys (or girls) have had similar issues? -Daniel [link] [comments] |

Are there any reddit apps that can actually play video? (pretty much just youtube) Posted: 26 Aug 2020 11:32 AM PDT I have Readder pro on my apple tv and while it does play webms and gifs (I think) I get "something has gone wrong" when I try to play a video. So are there any reddit apps you can play video on apple tv? [link] [comments] |
