A moment of appreciation for the AW Posted: 26 Aug 2020 12:22 PM PDT A friend asked me the other day if my Apple Watch was worth the investment. So, here is all the things I use this beautiful piece of technology for. I feel that it really has revolutionised my life. • Tracks my sleep - it has massively helped me improve my sleep quality and length of sleep • Wakes me up gently - I wake up less startled with the gentle vibration on my wrist • Tells me when to take a moment to breathe and calm down • I can check my ECG when I'm feeling anxious/nervous/sad etc and monitor my emotions • Tells me off for sitting on my ass • Tracks all my various kinds of workouts and provides me with valuable data • I use it to pay for literally everything - was an avid user of Apple Pay on my phone but never use it anymore, only my watch • Lets me quickly check what attire I should be wearing outside that day & what weather I need to be prepared for (British weather is un-pre-dict-able) • Sends me little news snippets so I keep updated throughout the day • I use it to set a timer when I'm cooking, I just ask Siri, she is helpful • When I'm feeling super lazy i use it to walkie talkie my flat mate • It reminds me when my music is too loud • I can answer calls on it • I can find my phone with it when I've put it down and forgotten it (happens a lot) • When I'm away from my laptop it tells me when I get a new email • I can track my period, and any symptoms I get leading up to it. It sends me a nice little notification when I'm due • I use the stopwatch function a lot at the gym at its so much easier to use on a watch than a phone • When listening to music I can use my watch to as a control • Same goes for Apple TV • I use it for directions in the car • I'm sad and like to track the planes & helicopters that fly past my house, I have an app that lets me see exactly what vehicle is flying past • Oh and of course, last but not least, it actually tells me the time There is 100% more functions, but that's just what I use it for! Please, if you have any tips help me! Posted: 27 Aug 2020 08:07 AM PDT Hello everyone. I would love some help or tips or anything because I'm getting so frustrated. I have an iPhone 10, and in September 2018 I got an Apple Watch Series Three. It worked great until June 2019. I started having a problem where my phone was not showing my activity in the activity app. My watch was collecting all my activity, but my phone would show that there was no activity, or it would lag behind. Then it basically stopped updating the activity on the app at all. On my phone it looked like I hadn't worn my watch for days. I tried so many tips: update both, turn on and off, change the move goal on the watch, reset the watch, and completely erase the watch and start new. This went on until probably February 2020 when I finally went to the apple store. The apple store ran some diagnostics and couldn't find anything wrong I guess. The problem kept happening so I got a new watch in June 2020. I got another series 3, and set it up as a new watch. I am starting to have the same problems again. Yesterday I closed all my rings and worked out, which showed on my watch at the end of the night like it should. My phone activity shows I only moved for 47 calories, and stood for 2/12 hours. I ran this morning and have closed two rings, but there is no activity at all on my phone. It looks like I am not wearing it. The strangest part is that my watch seems to be storing the information. My watch had an "award progress" notification this morning that said "you're only 3 away from a 7-workout week" Please, if you have any tips help me! [link] [comments]

[SUPPORT] Series 5 - Display has gone black. Nothing I or Apple Support do will bring it back. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 06:51 AM PDT Posting in case other people run into the same issue. Will update with a final resolution. Bought new in June of this year. Watch was doing great until it wasn't. I was sitting at the kitchen counter paying bills and felt a notification, turned my wrist to see what it was. Nothing. Taps, button presses, absolutely nothing would show on the screen. The watch is still communicating with my phone though. Battery was at or above 45% (and will recharge to 100%, but no difference in display). Tried the hard reset (holding dial plus side button) multiple times. Apple logo never appears, but I think it's rebooting. Responds to 'find my watch'. It's as if the display became unplugged. I think the most water it's ever seen was being rinsed off in the sink after working outside. But that was over a week prior and it's supposed to be resistant anyway. I also tried different chargers just to see, no difference. So, I have to bring it in to an authorized repair center. I have an appointment at BestBuy for next Wednesday. Sucks that I have to wait a week even to get seen. So, I've gone back to wearing my late Dad's Apple Watch 'Original', which continues to chug along after 5+ years... [link] [comments]

Where to wear an Apple Watch if wrist is impossible? Posted: 27 Aug 2020 08:15 AM PDT Hello Reddit, I'm working into my medical practice where I can use my Apple Watch on my wrist, for hygiene reason of course.
I can't find anything on amazon to be honest, any suggestions is welcome. [link] [comments]
I move to a new country, but I can't set up my new debit card in Apple Pay on my AW Posted: 27 Aug 2020 07:54 AM PDT I added my new country's debit card to Wallet on my iPhone, but my AW still has my old country's debit card in Wallet. I already changed the region of my AW to my new country, and I know that my new country supports Apple Pay because it works on my iPhone. I tried googling and searching this sub for answers. Anyone know how to fix this? [link] [comments]

Spotify like app for Apple Watch Posted: 27 Aug 2020 07:28 AM PDT Hi, does something like this (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/streamlets/id1507575984 ) exist to stream for free any songs which I choose? Something like Spotify but without needing an iPhone, just directly from AW. Thank you P.S.: Pandora app is not available in my country [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Aug 2020 01:02 AM PDT My Apple Watch generation 1 had a blown battery, but still charged and held a bit of charge. I ordered a new battery from ebay (genuine apple battery, taken from another device) and connected it to my watch. Whenever I turn my watch on with the new battery, I get stuck in a boot loop, ending with a fading red apple logo. If I put the original battery into the watch, it does not do this. Any idea what could cause this? The battery I ordered was for a series 1 42mm and I have a series 0 42mm, and have been told they are the same and they have identical markings and are the same model. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 04:33 AM PDT I just wondering how long I can be without my phone and still be able to make an emergency call or send a text. For series 3 and 4. What happened to the other replies?, one was saying they were also interested wondering if they should upgrade and another was pointing to a post they made documenting the battery life of their watch. Thanks [link] [comments]
Apple Watch Independent from iPhone (not in the normal way) Posted: 27 Aug 2020 04:29 AM PDT Hi there, I have an Apple Watch Series 3 but have never had a phone plan and can't justify paying a ton of money each month to have one. I only really need the GPS, on-board music, and cellular functionality but always lose my phone (even at home, very absent minded and I get distracted so I don't want the phone on almost ever). I'm in Canada and looking to get a plan for just my watch and not my phone. My girlfriend has a plan with Telus and she says I can just put it on her plan for like $10 a month but I don't think it works like that. Are there any carriers that offer an Apple Watch only plan? I'm fresh out of university and barely making it by, I just chose this option because it was the cheapest way to get tech that paired well with Apple's other products. Thanks for the help everyone!
