[Discussion] Odyssey appreciation post Posted: 26 Jul 2020 09:06 PM PDT I was planning on sticking with unc0ver because I was comfortable with it but today I felt ambitious and restored root fs and downloaded Odyssey beta 2 and I honestly think I will never look back. The time needed to jailbreak the device itself was cut in half and the Odyssey app is -simply put- gorgeous. Once the device jailbroke I knew I wasn't going to get Cydia so I was prepared to be disappointed with Sileo because first of all, I was a die hard Cydia fan and second of all, I heard that other package manager had bugs and were far less stable then Cydia. My experience with Sileo has been flawless so far, not only does it have a fresh new UI, package install times have been shrunk by an insane factor. Once I got my favourite tweaks up and running I used it for a while and checked if I was experiencing any of the same problems I had with certain packages on unc0ver and I can firmly say that all of the crashes and bugs I was getting have been resolved and I assume it's due to libhooker. Thank you CoolStar and the rest of the Odyssey team for making jailbreaking a satisfying experience once again. Jailbreaking with unc0ver was a really poor experience and I hope pwn can step his game up. submitted by /u/Daud_K [link] [comments]

[Question] Woke up to black screen; buttons no response but somehow still on? Unc0ver 13.5 XR Posted: 26 Jul 2020 06:30 PM PDT TLDR: woke up to black screen, buttons no response, no charge vibration when plugged in, Apple Watch shows still connected to iPhone and can ping successfully, connected to macbook to try something, suddenly received a notification and iPhone lit up like nothing happened. What gives? Hi. This morning I woke up to a black screen when I pressed the side button and the screen didn't light up. I was confused and thought it died of battery somehow caused by a background task bug or something, but then I checked my Watch and the green iPhone icon is still there, so I pinged it and sure enough it played the sound. Since I have set long press side button to respring in Activator, I did just that but it didn't work, apparently. Somehow I didn't want to hard reset just yet, so I plugged my iPhone to power, but there's no charging vibration. So then I connected it to my macbook, since AltStore and Unc0ver apps have expired anyway. Now, I live in a rented apartment with the landlord and they have a habit of turning off wifi before sleeping and only turn on the next morning when they (or I) need it. My mac asked me if I want to connect to my iPhone's hotspot, I clicked connect but it failed. Fine, but suddenly I received a notification via my Watch, and sure enough my iPhone lit up with that notification as if nothing happened. It didn't restart because tweaks were still working. I didn't press anything at this point. I checked the battery page in Settings but I discovered it hasn't been logging battery usage since Friday which was 24 July. So what happened here?
