    [Help] Display glitch in dark mode, screen kinda greenish for a few seconds after unlocking

    I can't figure this one out. I've tried disabling tweaks in iCleaner Pro, got down to Substrate Safe Mode and the problem persisted. Tried restoring root file system, and thought I had it pinpointed to Central, as it was the first and only tweak I installed after updating essentials after the rootfs restore. But it's still happening without Central installed. I was hoping someone has seen this before. Like I said, the display is kinda brighter and greenish, especially noticeable in dark apps like settings etc. It hurts the eyes for a few seconds then reverts to correct dark mode. This consistently happens after unlocking when the phone has been looked for more than like five minutes. Thanks for any help.

    [Upcoming] VoluApp memorizes your last volume when the app was closed and on relaunch it sets it to the old volume

    Hard to explain, but when you launch the app it sets it to the last volume when it was open so you never need to turn YouTube down because your other game was quiet so your volume was too high.

    Today, the LockWatch 2 Beta receives an incremental update, bringing it to version 2.0b3-u1. This update contains a bunch of new features that could have been considered Beta 4, as well as new complications (including interactivity) and a whole lot of bug fixes and improvements. This update took way longer than expected because of yet another university project (which was completed a while ago), but here we are again.

    Please report any issue or crash (including crash logs) to the GitHub repo, because I usually don't check Reddit that often, and using GitHub gives me a better overview of which issues have been fixed already.

    After you had to wait for it (way too long), the first update for LockWatch 2 Beta 3 is here. Including general improvements (more on that later), this update includes the "big 5" Weather complications. Here's a list of every complication added in this update:

    • Weather / Weather Temp
    • Weather Conditions
    • Wind
    • Air Quality Index (AQI)
    • UV Index

    Additionally, this update contains the following bug fixes and improvements:

    • Complications are finally useful! Supported complications will now open their assigned app or invoke their assigned actions.

      • Battery: Tapping will toggle Low Power Mode
      • Date: Opens the Calendar app, showing today's events
      • Now Playing: Opens the app that's currently playing music
      • Weather complications will open the Weather app showing current conditions
      • Activity: Opens the Activity app and shows the current Activity ring progress
      • World Clock: Opens the Clock app and shows configured world clocks

    • Adds onboarding and post-update notifications. Onboarding introduces new and existing users to the capabilities of LockWatch 2, while post-update notifications tell you what changed in an update.

    • Adds layout compatibility for [Photon](cydia://package/com.cemck/photon).

    • Adds support for video-based watch faces (beta). Required assets won't be shipped with LockWatch 2.

    • Adds support for light wallpapers.

    • You can now select between "Off", "Translucent" or "Solid Black" as the watch face background.

    • Fixes a crash that occured when selecting a system language or changing "Bold Fonts".

    • Fixes layout issues on iPhone in landscape mode.

    • Fixes an issue that was causing some Apple Watch models to not show various complications.

    • Improves suspending watch faces when the display is turned off.

    • Improves the appearance of the "Nike Analog" watch face on iOS 13.5.

    • Improves the appearance of the "Customize"/"Cancel" buttons for Apple Watch Series 4/5.

    • Adds "preferenceloader" as a dependency. I guess it's common law to always forget that.

    • Improvements to the zoom animation when selecting a watch face.

    • Improvements to localization.

    • For developers: Compiled for arm64 and arm64e with an iOS 11.2/13.3 hybrid SDK on High Sierra (see https://github.com/SniperGER/iOS13-Private-SDK for more details)

    Currently known issues:

    • Weather complications are currently not compatible with iPad due to missing frameworks.
    • The "UV Index" complication may cause layout issues when used with the "Infograph Modular" face. This does, in fact, also happen without LockWatch as a data source. thx apple.
    • Weather complications may not be updated automatically after restarting.
      Workaround: Load weather data using the stock "Weather" widget and display LockWatch again.
    • The complication "Battery" may show incorrect colors when toggling Low Power Mode.

    iPad support in LockWatch 2 Beta 3

    One issue in LockWatch 2 is that it depends on framework resources that are exclusive to iPhone. The frameworks do exist on iPad, it's just the assets (images etc.) are missing on iPad (and probably iPod touch).

    Because I want to stay out of legal trouble, I am not able to redistribute these assets with LockWatch 2 (and because it would most likely screw up your iPhone file system). So you have to add these files to your device yourself. For this, I have included a simple macOS script in the GitHub repository (InstallLockWatch2Files.sh) that will automatically download an IPSW for iPhone X for the specified version (eg. 13.5.1), extract the largest DMG containing the file system, and copy the required files directly to your device. For more details on the usage, run ./InstallLockWatch2Files.sh -h.

    Please note you may need to run chmod +x InstallLockWatch2Files.sh before you can run the script.

    What's next for Beta 4

    For LockWatch 2 to be complete, there is just one announced feature missing at this point: Custom (third-party) watch faces.

    I know I mentioned that custom watch faces may be shipped with beta 3, but complications did actually take a while to research and implement (and I'm not even done yet). So I've decided that custom watch faces will be part of beta 4, which will be worked on once every complication is completed.

    As for future betas (if required), there will probably just "bug fixes and improvements". There's also no ETA yet (apart from the fact that I usually don't give out ETAs. I'm living the "it's done when it's done" kind of style).

    [Discussion] Disabling Screen Time on my homie's phone, possibly using jailbreaking

    My friend has unreasonably strict parents, and as a punishment for something they did they put screentime on their phone as well as other things that aren't important. I'm looking into using jailbreaking to disable this but at the moment the best solution requires the use of a computer, which they have very limited use of because of their parents. We're working on getting him over to my house where we can jailbreak his phone using checkra1n, but currently, the best option seems to be a No-PC jailbreak. This would be slightly easier than usual because they're still on 13.4.1, but it's still somewhat difficult because he can't download ANY apps he hasn't downloaded before, and he can't download safari. It's possible that a computer could be used if it doesn't involve installing any programs. They have an iPhone 8 IIRC but it could be an 8 Plus if that makes a difference.

    [Question] how to restore a locked phone with home button broken

    i just dusted off an old iphone (4) and it is locked for over 100,000 minutes. even so, i don't know if i'd remember the password.

    the home button is broken, so i cannot put it into recovery mode.
