Shuffle/Repeat minor flaw in UI/UX, no highlight. Posted: 02 Jun 2020 01:37 AM PDT Hi everyone :) I found some minor flaw in UI/UX of Apple Music app on MacOS. There is basically no highlight when selecting the shuffle/repeat option which causes some misleading in my opinion. The only thing that is shown would be the "repeat one song" but for the rest there is no information about currently chosen option. Is it only my problem or this is how the app is designed right now? Macbook air battery health dropped after 10.15.5 update Posted: 02 Jun 2020 02:07 AM PDT I have a 2014 macbook air and after the 10.15.5 update, my battery health dropped from 85 percent to around 67 percent. I use istat menus to check the battery health status. Is anyone else experiencing the same? I read online that the new battery health management feature reduces the maximum capacity of the battery to prolong its lifespan but the option to enable that feature does not seem to be available on my laptop. Strange iCloud thing when updating to Catalina 10.15.5 Posted: 01 Jun 2020 08:55 PM PDT Hi, Maybe I'm being skeptical for nothing, but once the Catalina update got onto my system, I was greeted with a 'sign in to iCloud' page and a few location services things, sort of how you get when first getting the computer. The question is, I declined most of these services and didn't even log in to iCloud, yet the Mac managed to log into my iCloud account anyways. Is this something I should be skeptical (security-wise) about or is this for everyone? I come from an OS that doesn't do these things so I am just slightly unsure as to what I saw. Problems with Airpods Pro and Catalina 10.15.5 Posted: 01 Jun 2020 11:31 PM PDT I'm running on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) with Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5, since updating my machine last week I'm having a lot of trouble connecting with my Airpods pro. The bluetooth connection seems to be ok, but the audio doesn't always change from Internal Speakers to Airpods pro, even when trying to manually select the Airpods pro in the audio dropdown, it still doesn't change. After fiddling around with disconnecting, reconnecting, changing settings, I sometimes get it to activate the Airpods again. But then the audio volume settings is grayed out, and I can't change the volume through the keyboard. Only way to change the volume is going through System Preferences -> Sound, that volume slider is active and works. Before updating the machine, my Airpods worked flawlessly with my computer, so I'm pretty sure this is a software issue of sorts. Have anybody else encountered it? I've tried rebooting to no avail. Safari (Slow on Reddit and FB) Posted: 01 Jun 2020 05:40 PM PDT Has anyone notice slow downs on Reddit and sometimes FB? Reddit can get so slow that if I'm typing a comment, there is almost a second before the character shows on screen. Especially if I've scrolled down the homepage a bit. Both Reddit and FB will display the significant memory warning (I have 32 Gig of RAM). Non issue in Chrome & Edge, which of course leads me to blame Safari. I like using Safari for the fingerprint access to logins and passwords, but this has plagued me a while. Mac OS wise, I've tried the normal 'fixes'... Unable to connect Bluetooth devices in 10.15.5 supplemental update Posted: 02 Jun 2020 12:19 AM PDT This is pretty weird. The title, pretty much. I've tried to reset the Bluetooth module and also tried deleting the Bluetooth plist files and restarting. I used to Archive and Delete messages in Mail.app by using swipe left/right gestures in the message list. The actions for these gesture could be set in "Settings>Viewing". Is it possible to partition a Fusion drive into 2? Posted: 01 Jun 2020 10:26 PM PDT I have a work iMac that has the fusion drive. Looking at system properties, the SSD portion is around 32GB while the HDD drive is 1TB. The whole setup is presented as a 1TB single partition. I suppose the 32GB SSD acts like some soft of cache. I want to partition the storage so I have 1 partition for the OS and another for the data. I am trying to do this using Mojave Disk Utility but it keeps on force closing on me. I have repaired Windows computers for 20 years, but rarely worked with Apple, and I have a few questions. First, can I create an installation USB? How? Second, will I need a new product key? If so, how do I obtain it and what is the cost? If not, will it recognize the hardware? Or do I need to recover the key somehow? Anything else I need to know? Quick video joining OSX Posted: 01 Jun 2020 09:53 PM PDT So i was able to use Quicktime X/7 (mostly 7) to join videos of any format and make into one mov file. With that, I re encode it using handbrake so its a standard H264 that apple is very common. Catalina though.. wiped out all 32 bit compatibility and even these plug ins. I can't open any non h264 like avis within quicktime to do something as simple as joining and possibly re encode to watch. ​ Has anybody done video joining before? Another alternative I guess is to use openshot or even Adobe premiere pro to join videos. I checked the network and now it shows 2 networks, where as previously i believe it always showed up empty. Even though my name is johnny, the network says ''john'' and another one with a weird name ''desktop-giggl8p. I'm pretty sure this is some trojan or Remote Assistant Tool. Essentially, when I drag a Safari window A and fullscreen it on this external monitor (click the green button), and then try to maximize another Safari window B on my laptop's display, window B will maximize past the dock and status bar. WiFi keeps disconnecting in MacOS Posted: 01 Jun 2020 11:58 AM PDT This is extremely irritating as I often have something streaming and/or have Active Trader Pro open when trading stocks. It disconnects and of course interrupts everything at seemingly the worst time. The WiFi is in range but it shuts off for a second (showing that there is no WiFi nearby available, when really I'm in an apartment building that has 10+ routers in range). Usually it disconnects and stays disconnected until I turn WiFi off on the computer, and then back on again. It re-connects easily but it is causing bigger problems here. Disconnecting me from the market is the biggest problem I have and I can't keep using something that does this. Is this a known issue with a fix? (MacBook Air 2015 model.
