Posted: 22 Jun 2020 10:33 AM PDT iOS 14 THIS WILL BE UPDATED WITH FINER DETAILS All-new widgets: (Home screen widgets, you can now add multiple widgets to your home screen. There's a brand new Widget Gallery, with most Apple Widgets built in.)
App library: (App Library, a place where all your apps can be organized, no more 300 or so pages of unorganized apps. This also let you hide some home screen pages, which means you can have a default page, and then an organized list of apps. You can also search your Library, using a Spotlight-Like search.)
Native picture-in-picture! (Picture in Picture now comes to the iPhone! It can also hide on the sides of the screen.)
Siri: (NEW VISUAL INTERFACE! It's now a small logo on the bottom of the screen, and even if you ask for information, it shows as a small notification-like interface. Oh, it now has 20x more facts, like "Is Pluto a planet?")
New Translate App: ("Translate", a ML app that translates on-the-fly your voice, for talking with people that don't know your native language.) Helps with basic translations and inter-language communication Messages Updates: (Messages got updated! Redesigned interface for your messages list, with pinned messages. Memoji is also updates, with even more looks, and face masks! Can't contaminate your virtual contacts with the face mask! There are also groups, with in-line replies, with reddit-like threading. Mentions have been implemented, where you get a notification when @mentioned.)
Maps: (Maps got more accurate, and will soon have support for the UK, Canada, and Ireland. Guides were implemented, where you get the latest recommendations for new places to visit. Cycling is now a transport option, even including elevation info. There are also warnings for steps and sharp turns. EV routing, where maps track the charge of your Electric Car, and reroutes you to an EV post if you need a charge.)
U1 Chip: Spacial awareness App Store: (App Store, added app clips, where a preview app opens, just for the situation you need the app for, without installing. App Clips is designed for speed and performance, and is capable of Pay and Sign In with Apple. App Clip codes, incorporating NFC and a visual cue.)

Ladies and gentleman, Always on display does NOT require an LTPO display. Posted: 21 Jun 2020 01:56 PM PDT I know a lot of people know this, but some people believe the reason why iPhones don't have always on display is because it doesn't have the LTPO technology found in apple watches. Always on display works reliably on any phone with an OLED display. LTPO is NOT NEEDED. It's only used on the apple watches for less power consumption, since they have very small batteries, and battery life can be an issue. OLED displays have each pixel emitting their own light. The less pixels used, the less amount of power needed, allowing Always on display to be possible, while using a small amount of energy. LTPO is designed for OLED and allows the refresh rate to be dynamically change depending on the situation. It saves a significant amount of energy on devices with very small batteries (like the apple watch), but is not needed on current phones since OLED technology is more than enough. So for iPhones with an OLED display (X, XS, XS Max, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max), always on display is 100% possible. We just have to wait until Apple decides to add it to iOS. Most android phones have always on display. They don't use LTPO technology. [link] [comments] | ||
