    Phantom Wrist Vibration

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 01:09 AM PDT

Anyone ever feel their phone vibrate in their pocket only to not even have received a notification? Then after getting an Apple Watch that SAME THING happening but on your wrist? It's a complete burden and I am happy to report I passed that along to a coworker of mine :)

    Apple Watch at the Beach?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 06:04 AM PDT

I have an AW S5. I'm going on my honeymoon next week just down to the beach and I have closed all of my activity rings since getting my AW and would hate to lose my streak by not wearing it down to the beach. I don't plan to wear it in the water just in case and will avoid getting it sandy. It's otherwise fine to wear on the beach, yeah?

    Apple watch factory reset fails

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 05:50 AM PDT

Hi there. I have an Apple watch series 2. The watch says it is paired to the iPhone but the watch app said it has been disconnected. The watch has been locked too many times with a passcode. I have put the watch on the charger, force touched on the power off slider, it then shows a small spinning circle, the screen goes black and then after a few seconds the watch "face" comes back almost as if it is timing out. The watch is out of warranty and there are no Apple stores in South Africa. I bought it from iStore (Apple Authorized Reseller) What should I do? I think it is a software/hardware problem.

[Serious] Has Apple Watch ever made your wrist bleed?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 05:38 AM PDT

I know, title sounds a little crazy, but hear me out: I have a S3 with a Sports Loop and I usually wear it to bed so I can track my sleep. (Occasionally the Watch and/or strap does irritate my skin in which case I'll remove it for a while or skip wearing it for a night.) This morning I woke up and my wrist felt a little irritated but I paid it no attention (I didn't scratch around or under the watch), but ~30 minutes later it was still irritating me so I decided to remove it for a while. As I removed it I noticed a tiny pinprick of blood on my wrist, directly where the sensors lay on it. It was fresh, not scabbed over, and actually started to pool slightly as a picked scab might, although there was no scab present. I've never seen this happen before and wouldn't even think it was possible if it wasn't the first thing I noticed after waking up today. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

p.s.: I don't have any medical conditions that would lead to easy bleeding. I do have somewhat sensitive skin and use free & clear soaps/detergents. I had worn a traditional metal watch for years before Apple Watch, and it also occasionally irritated my wrist but to my knowledge never made my bleed. I do regularly adjust the grip of the sport loop band for comfort and to alleviate irritation. I've found that cleaning the watch with soap and water can help. I should note that from the moment I first started wearing Apple Watch years ago I noticed my skin underneath the sensors was especially irritated, and needed to be primed to regularly wearing it (I would take it off for days and then try keeping it on again) so as to acclimate to the sensors. Perhaps the near constant light that the sensors shoot at the skin is what can cause this? Any insights are welcome. Thanks!

    Collection of custom watch faces?

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 08:36 PM PDT

I was thinking we need a thread that shows all the Live Photo custom watch faces we have so we can share and collect them! Was browsing through and didn't see anything like this.

Please share if you have any, and maybe mods can make this more official!

Random locking and battery life issue [Series 4]

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 01:05 AM PDT

Hi all - looking for if anyone has had these issues before and any advice on how to resolve them at least in the short term. I've spoken to Apple support and because of the situation with COVID-19 they are unable to do anything right now - the stores here are closed and there are no mail-in options available.

So a month or so ago my Series 4 (roughly 11 months old) started randomly locking itself during the day and I noticed that the battery was draining really quickly. I was away from home for the night without the charger (it was fully charged before leaving and on normal battery life I would be home way before I would need to charge) so I just let it go flat and took it off. I fully charged it when I got home and all seemed to be well again. That was until a week or 2 ago it started to happen again, except this time letting it go flat and just recharging it did nothing to help.

As I said earlier, I spoke to Apple support via chat and we stepped through some things to try and fix the issue, including unpairing the watch and setting up again from the backup, but nothing seemed to help. The advisor told me that given everything that's going on in the world there are no options available to me right now. He made a note of the issue and said they would resolve it as soon as they could which is fine but that doesn't really help me right now. I've turned off the passcode which obviously stops the locking issue but the battery life is still absolutely awful - I've gone from 100% to 80% in around 2 hours this morning. I have noticed that if I take the watch off then the battery life seems to be fine while it is sat on the side, or at least much better, which makes me wonder whether it's a fault heart rate sensor or something? I'm not sure.

Does anyone know what data I might lose if I unpair the watch and set it up as brand new? I'm happy to configure it and install apps again but wondering where my health/exercise data is stored and if that would be lost? To be honest that's my last resort in terms of solving this until I can get in to the Apple store so I'm open to any other suggestions.

It may be worth noting that the watch is fully up to date - I installed 6.2.6 yesterday and actually got semi-hopeful that a previous update was the issue and this was going to help, but no luck.

How to prevent apple watch standby on certain apps?

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 03:38 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

So I'm using jefit for my worksouts and I really like it, altough there is a really pain in the a$$ feature, that it needs constant connection to the phone which I can live with, but as soon as my apple watch goes to standby mode, the connection is lost and I need to pull out my phone again... is there an option to NEVER turn off the screen / go to always on when using jefit / certain apps?

Thank you for any recommendation :)
