    First of all, sorry if my English seems weird, but it's not my first language. Now, as I was telling in the title, My android phone recently died when I dropped it on concrete, so my BFF handed me down his old iPhone 6 plus. I was reticent to using an iPhone since it lacks configuration options compared to android, however it's more than compensated with its general awesomeness. What exclusive iOS apps can I try? I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, so visually-appealing notes-taking app can be useful. Thanks!

    Need a recommendation for a robust iOS media player app with following features:

    Hi!

    I need a robust iOS media player app , free or one-time paid unlock with the following feature set:

    • robust audio/video codec support (including Dolby & DTS , 4K hardware decoding, ...)
    • library management (covers, metadata, ...)
    • ability to efficiently stream from my Synology NAS
    • Chromecast support

    Infuse looks nice but is way to expensive and I simply won't pay a monthly sub for a video player. Tried nPlayer, seems to tick all the boxes, except library features, so I'm looking further...

    :/

    I basically need something like Libre/Coreelec for iOS without the need for any plugins, etc. sigh

    Reduce size of WhatsApp iCloud backup?

    The backup for my WhatsApp account takes up 2.9GB in iCloud. I have turned off the option to save videos and assume it is all the photos that is taking up the space. Any ideas how I can reduce the size of the backup save for going though and deleting various chats? PS My actual iPhone backup does not include WhatsApp, I have it switched off otherwise the same information is saving twice.

    Only backup certain documents/folders in the files app

    Hi all,

    My iCloud backups have stopped as I do not have enough space any more. I checked and the files app it included in the backup and takes up a humongous amount of space. I would like some of the files/folders to be included in the backup and others to be excluded. Is there a way to do this?

    I kinda forgot about this stopwatch I started almost 6 years ago on my iPod Touch 2nd Gen (iOS 4.2.1). I'm pretty impressed that it is still running because it has been shut down for at least 4 years. Next step: 69420 hours.

    iOS photo and video sharing with family idea/feature request

    Right now you have to share photos and videos manually, with iOS 12 this became much easier with suggestions to share photo's and video's with an iCloud link. But this isn't good enough for family sharing, for example you still have to manually add those shared photos to your library. I've thought a lot about this and my solution and besides that also feature request for iOS 14 is as followed:

    On iOS 14 there will be a new tab called 'Family'. This is a shared library with the same people from Family Sharing. Family members can move photo's from their personal library to the shared one, so everyone has access to those photos. Beside manually adding photo's you can also turn on "automatically share with family", this means that events where family members were too, based on face recognition and location services, will automatically move to the shared library. When this option is turned off, or your device isn't sure if this event should move to the shared library, it will ask you before doing it. Those suggestions will all appear on the "Family" tab, next to all the activity in the library.

    Photos that are in both your personal and family library, will automatically be removed from your personal one, to save iCloud space and keeping it organised. The shared library will also share face recognition with everyone so you only have to tag faces once. You can also choose per person what access they have: Full access, editing, reading, etc.

    In the "Photos" tab, your personal and family libraries are both shown, so you still get the complete experience with those shared photos. If you want to see only your personal or family library you can find those individual library's on the "Albums" page.

    Positives: - Share photos and videos with your family automatically. - You only have to maintain one library. - Automatically share name tagged faces. - You save iCloud space.

    I've slowly started using Reminders app again and found it to be quite good – but when I almost fully moved I realized there's a glaring hole in the middle in terms of functionality.

    First, I started to use it to save any kind of notes for the future: links, images, short pieces of texts. iOS default rich links handling is perfect for this as I can see little favicons or even entire tweets, schedule these items for specific time and see the completed ones if I need them again.

    Then I started using it for basic personal reminders, like to change contact lenses. Figured it would be useful for tracking my watchlist and books as well – I can share those from Letterboxd or Goodreads (or any other app/webpage that gives context to why I need this).

    But as soon as I started using it for my tasks I realized that Today/Scheduled/Flagged view don't show me what's the list where the task is coming from. So I have zero context. What was the project? I don't know.

    The app itself is quite good, it's an OK basic task manager with NLP, location-based tasks, lists, subtasks – but unlike any other app on the market it doesn't show the original project and renders its smart filters useless. It's a shame really, because I want to use it for everything. The only alternative that can do everything I'd want is probably OmniFocus which is a quite expensive overkill.

    Do engineers at Apple use those apps themselves?

    Are there any known issues causing iPhones to continuously disconnect from known Wi-Fi networks?

    As a general security precaution, I have always set my known Wi-Fi networks on my iPhone to "Auto-Join Disabled" and never had any issues.

    Until relatively recently. It now disconnects hundreds of times a day.

    I just wanted make double sure that this isn't a known issue in iOS.

    Facetime bug?

    Wifi constantly dropping with certain apps

    Since i bought a new Iphone SE 2 years ago despite installing new updates i am still encountering this problem, my Wifi works fine unless i open certain apps like Twitch or online games it starts disconnecting and reconnecting with brief intervals until i close that app everything gets to normal, it is really frustrating and i tried everything i could and still the same , anyone faced this problem ??

    Am I using my iphone wrong - notification volume too high

    I don't understand what is going on with the sound levels on my iphone 11 pro, ios 13.5.1

    Settings > Sounds & Haptics I have Ringer and Alerts set to one tick to the right (so one level above off) and Change with Buttons turned off.

    When I receive a notification with a sound it may be at one level and another time the volume is piercingly loud with no changes to volume or sound settings. The notification sounds can be back to back with different volume levels. I really want the sound to play but even at one tick the volume is too loud and inconsistent.

    Am I missing a setting? Thanks

    “CALL ANY” is very lightly shown vertically on the top right corner of my screen. What’s up with this?

    At the top right of my screen "CALL ANY" is vertical on my phone in light letters.

    I noticed it on the reddit app at first. It is barely noticeable and I thought maybe something weird happened to the app. I lock my phone and I can see it there too. Anyone know what is up with this? It's super light and you can't really see it very well. I tried taking a screenshot and it doesn't appear in the photo.

    Edit: I just realized what it's from. I've been playing phone poker and Call Any was to call bets. It's screen burn it looks like

    Instagram notifications are not working!?

    I tried everything i logged in and out, I deleted the app, offloaded the app, check the Instagram notification section they are all turned on, checked the iPhone Instagram app notifications they are all on too, I restarted my phone several times and it still isn't working. Before I got my iPhone 11 I was using my moms iPhone 11 and I used my Instagram on there and I was receiving all my notifications. Once iOS 13.5 came out I stopped receiving notifications on my iPhone 11. Can anyone please help me out?
