PSA: Apple TV App No Longer Searches Netflix Posted: 21 Jun 2020 08:31 PM PDT Until recently, the Apple TV app on the Apple TV device would produce search results from Netflix, allowing you to add results to your Up Next, and launch from the Apple TV app into Netflix. It would not, however, track your progress in Netflix, as has been widely discussed. Now (not sure when it started), the Apple TV app doesn't produce search results from Netflix, preventing you from adding Netflix results to your Up Next or launching from the Apple TV app to Netflix. It seems Netflix figured out how to cut this last tie between the Apple TV app and Netflix. Edit: Netflix originals still come up. Movies and TV shows that are licensed to stream on Netflix (e.g. Ip Man, Ip Man 2, Ip Man 3, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, The Matrix, Community, Parks and Recreation, etc) do not. Posted: 21 Jun 2020 11:57 AM PDT I don't know if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if this is possible? Thanks in advance [link] [comments]
AT&T TV now and FOX channel Apple TV integration Posted: 21 Jun 2020 03:02 PM PDT As of late this week, I noticed if you use the Siri remote to "Watch FOX, FS1, FS2, or any other FOX networks," it sends you to the related FOX app instead of asking for the option of changing to the channel on AT&T TV or the FOX app. Anyone else noticed this? Other channels seem to work "Watch CNBC," "Watch Comedy Central"... [link] [comments]
HBO Max Next-Day Release of Non-Live Show Episodes Posted: 21 Jun 2020 10:33 AM PDT I like to watch some of HBO's showcase series, like Insecure and I May Destroy You, on the day and at the time they are broadcast, using my Apple TV HBO Max subscription, not a day or two later (first-world problem, I know). Today, HBO's support reps have contradicted one another. For example, the texting rep just assured me that newly broadcast episodes "should be" "generally" available at the same time as broadcast. Their email rep just wrote me that there's a 24-hour delay. I've had to deal with this for years. Does anyone know of some kind of workaround, using either the HBO site or a mobile device app? Posted: 21 Jun 2020 03:27 PM PDT I've done some searching and answers differ depending on what year it is. Right now I'd like to hide a movie I purchased that I essentially have 2 copies of. There's the regular version and I now have a directors cut as a separate purchase (w/ extras). There is zero chance I'll ever watch the non directors cut now so is there a way to hide that version of the movie so I don't have a dupe in my library? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Jun 2020 11:10 AM PDT Anyone else here use AirPods a lot with their ATV? I have a 4th gen ATV and use my 2nd gen AirPods with it frequently . I find that in the recent months the double tap settings on the AirPod changes every time I connect it to my ATV. For example, my right AirPod is set to Play/Pause but when connected to the ATV it skips to next video. It's gotten very annoying and I'm trying to see if it's just me or not. [link] [comments]
Apple TV 4k streaming in 1440p Posted: 21 Jun 2020 10:20 AM PDT Hi I have a 1440p monitor and I was considering to buy the Apple TV 4k. I had the Roku Streaming Stick + and it would only allow 1080p although it supports 4k and HDR. Will the Apple TV 4k support 1440p? Or will it just stay at 1080p. I don't know too much about upscaling and downscaling either. [link] [comments]
Apple removing purchased movies without notice? Posted: 21 Jun 2020 09:37 AM PDT I'm at a loss for words. Hoping to share my experience here with others to avoid losing access to the movies you've "purchased". Recently, I noticed the movie "Trolls" was removed from my Apple TV library. I purchased the movie back in 2017. My kid asked me where it went and I started doubting my own memory. I was able to find my order receipt. I reached out to Apple customer support and was told that Apple only supports the download of a movie one time and that it's up to me to make a backup. This response shocked me. I purchase movies on Apple TV so my kids can easily watch their favorite movies. There is also no hard drive that I can attach to an Apple TV to allow me to easily back up these files. So my assumption was that I'd have access to these movies any time in the future. Instead, I'm researching external hard drives to download the 400 tv shows and movies I've purchased in the past. I'm assuming at least a dozen or more will have disappeared. I'll need to write some software to analyze my purchases from Apple email receipts in the past to build up my full list. I'll post here once I'm able to determine what exactly I've lost. How are you folks managing likelihood of losing access to movies and tv shows? Are there better, more Apple-like, local network streaming apps that handle Apple TV movie formats? Update: Screen cap from customer support about a movie disappearing from my list of purchases. https://imgur.com/a/oQiT9XF [link] [comments]
Lip sync issues just started happening Posted: 21 Jun 2020 07:53 AM PDT I have a 4K Apple TV hooked up to a 75" TCL through a Denon X1400h receiver. The other day, out of no where, I started noticing lip sync issues while watching YouTubeTV. I just figured it was the app and closed it out and re-opened. The issues persisted. I watch most of my movies with Infuse and the lip sync issues happen on that content too. Absolutely nothing has changed in my setup but has there been any changes on Apple's side in the last few days? Anyone else notice any issues like this? I also have it set to 4K SDR with match range and frame rate on. [link] [comments] |
