    WWDC 2020 | Pre-Event Megathread

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 06:11 PM PDT

Tomorrow is the first day of Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC). The first day is when Apple announces updates to their Operating Systems (iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, macOS, audioOS [Homepod]). And for the first ever in WWDC's history, the event will be virtual in its entirety.

Use this thread for your predictions, requests, and anything else that comes to your mind.

Want to know at what time is the event? Use the 'When is Keynote' website

Looking to read more about what has been leaked, or is rumored for iOS 14? Read MacRumors' iOS 14 Roundup!

    Quick reminder for all:

    • The sub will be on "lockdown". All submissions will be turned off one hour before the event, beginning at 9am PDT/12pm ET and will be turned back on as 30 minutes after the event ends. We will, however, be actively removing duplicate threads. So please check /new before submitting news.

    • We will provide pre-event (this thread), event, and post-event megathreads to discuss what's happening. We will also provide threads as things are announced and posted in blog sites when the sub is on lockdown mode.

    • We will also be doing a live thread in partnership with r/iPhone for those who can't tune in live, but still want to receive the latest info as it is revealed by Apple. That live thread's link will be posted tomorrow.

    • We do not allow bug threads on beta releases. /r/iOSBeta, /r/watchOSbeta, /r/tvOSBeta and /r/OSXBeta are your go-tos for bug threads. "Feature" and "PSA" threads will be approved on a case by case basis.

Want some links to get ready?

My iPhone was replaced as part of a recall. I cannot believe the condition of the replacement!

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 11:09 AM PDT

My iPhone 7 was in near perfect condition, except that it fell victim to the 'no service' issue that was part of a massive recall.

The program freely replaces the affected devices. So I followed through with that opportunity.

When I opened the box that came back from Apple, I was simply stunned. The device was heavily gouged and scratched across most of the screen. This device should never have been QA'ed and sent to anyone as part of a replacement program.

I've had great experience with Apple in the past, so my expectations were high.

The device is going back to Apple, who says they may replace the screen and agreed I shouldn't have to pay for that to happen. Which is obvious - of course a customer shouldn't have to pay to repair a device that wasn't theirs and should never have been sent to them in the first place.

    This is just really frustrating.
