    My open source and free temprature indicator app for macOS

    Hi all,

    Years ago, I thought I need a simple indicator app to show the temprature on the menu bar, and found the exists apps need paid, or have more functionalality than I need (which will eat my CPU and memory even if I don't see it).

    So I just build a simple one for my own usage, It will show the current temprature for you mac's sensors if you click it's icon on the menu bar. And then it'll do nothing if you leave the menu.

    And the app is open sourced on GitHub: https://github.com/aisk/MySensors , you can build it for your own, the only thing you should to do build it is 1, get the source code; 2, open by XCode; 3, click the "play" button.

    And I made a prebuild binary, you can download and use it directly from the release page: https://github.com/aisk/MySensors/releases

    The prebuild binary is signed, so you can open it without any configuration.

    Hey, I just deleted all the sources of the apple dictionary by accident and didn't back them up via time machine. Now when I open the dictionary literally nothing happens, just the app is shown to be open on the task bar. I'd appreciate any help, because I use the app on a daily basis. Thanks :)

    How to update to next - not latest - version of macos

    [HELP] My Magic mouse 2 only tracks on glossy surfaces. Please help.

    My Magic mouse only tracks on glossy surfaces such as magazines. It has stopped working on any other surface, even mouse pads!

    This device is A1657 and only works on glossy magazines and photographs.

    It stopped working on everything else. Simply will not track on mousepads, glass surfaces, linen like bedsheets or even table tops.

    This is strangely freaking me out!

    Apple cleaning website says,

    "If your Magic Mouse or Magic Mouse 2 isn't tracking properly, there might be a hair or other debris on the sensor lens. Turn the mouse over and inspect the sensor window using a bright light. If you see debris, use compressed air to gently clean the sensor window."

    This is not helping to resolve the issue.

    Unknown photographs appear in my photo library...

    • no one has access to my devices
    • two factor authentication enabled
    • no notification of new connection from a new device

    Has anyone ever seen these images or any idea what might have happened ? I did a reverse image search: no result.thanks

    Mystery solved! And it was not obvious ...

    I noticed a new album in my photo library. It's named HD-TI-Nspire (Math app) that I downloaded this week. This app installs images so ...

    Upgraded to Catalina 10.15.4 but system update still has a badge notification of 1 despite system being up to date

    Customize your touchbar to actually be useful

    Just came across this utility yesterday and found it incredibly useful.

    It allows you to customize your touchbar to pretty much anything you want. You can even create custom buttons that can run an AppleScript.

    I personally made mine very minimal looking. Basic controls, battery percentage with estimated time remaining, weather, and clock.

    The entire black section is a gesture area where a single tap play/pauses Spotify, a long press skips a track, and a two finger slide gesture changes the keyboard brightness.

    But if you have no experience with JSON or AppleScript, they have presets that you can mess around with https://github.com/Toxblh/MTMR-presets

    Catalina "crashes" and logging me out

    Hey all!

    On my late 2017 iMac with latest macOS Catalina I have a weird problem.
    Without any warning or crash messagge or something like that Catalina sometimes freezes and throwing me back to the login screen.
    From what I figured out, that happens more, when there are some intense processes running (like building something in Unity or playing TESO) but it also happens 3 times now, during I tried to wrote this posting (which of course always make me rewrite everything again :/ )
    So it is not really easy to reproduce :/
    I thought maybe the RAM (24GB) is the problem because it seems that when macOS allocating much of it (caused by Unity and a large Scene for example) the crashes were more appearing ... and as I wanted to upgrade anyway I plugged in 2 new 16GB modules (so 32 in sum) and don´t use the old ones anymore.
    But that was not the reason ... the issue still occurs.

    I would love to see some crashlog or a "This process caused me to crash and so I logged you out" like message in any of the system logs, but I dunno if there is any and if so, where I can find it.

    Does anyone have the same problem and have a solution or maybe an idea what I could do?
    Apple support is ... meh ... "Please send us your iMac but it will cost you nearly the price of a completely new one only that we will packing it out of your package. Investigating the problem will cost you extra" .. so ... NO :)

    Parallel Desktop Windows Virtual Machine created from Bootcamp very laggy

    Hi there guys, honestly I don't know if this is the appropriate subreddit to ask this because this is more of a technical issue with Parallel Desktop.

    Basically I've got a Macbook Pro 16" (base model with i7 2.6Ghz, 512GB SSD, Radeon 5300M, 16GB RAM) and I created a Parallel Dektop (I'm using Parallel Desktop 15.1.4) Windows 10 virtual machine based on my Windows 10 Bootcamp partition. This is on macOS Catalina 10.15.4

    However, to my dissapointment, the virtual machine created by Parallel Desktop using this Windows 10 bootcamp is very, very laggy. However, if I created a Windows 10 virtual machine from a Windows 10 ISO image, the performance is just fine (not perfect but it's acceptable).

    Does anyone have an a similar issue in the past?

    Any help would be appreciated ~

    P.S. I just tried VMWare Fusion and it exhibits the same problem where creating a virtual machine from the Windows 10 bootcamp partition makes the virtual machine very laggy when executed, at this point I have no idea what's going on

    Sierra to High Sierra (in 2020)

    Until now I have had no real reason to upgrade my OS, but apparently I need to be on at least HS to use the demo trial version of Logic X Pro.

    Would this upgrade have any real effect on my other apps, negative or positive?

    Im guessing it would'nt be too different? I am soley updating just to try out Logic X Pro.

    Does nyone else have performance issues with Catalina? Everything is fine in my Windows 10 Bootcamp partition.

    Hey gang. Everything has gone down hill on my 2013 Macbook Pro after upgrading to Catalina. I even did a clean install but Chrome isn't performing well. Actually, Safari isn't performing that well either and I'm just having general performance issues.

    I've done a thorough investigation and can't figure out what the issue is. I would just chalk it up to my laptop being old, but my laptop works perfectly fine in Windows 10 on my Bootcamp partition.

    Apple Dictation not following "new line" command and just inserts a space

    I tried a few commands with Apple dictation and they worked, except the one I wanted to use: new line.

    It just inserted a space each time I said it but doesn't move down as if I pressed return.

    See what application is using a **specific** disk

    How do I see which application is using a disk, not a combined total of all my drives, I have a HDD which seems to make a ruckus even though nothing should be accessing it. Is it possible to see what application is using this disk, but not the applications using my SSD

    Shapeshifter Themes on Tiger Mac OS X 10.4.11 on Intel MacPro1,1 - 2006.

    Decided to dust off the shipping OS on the MacPro1,1 that I purchased back in the end of 2007 and recalled that I actually bought Unsanity's Shapeshifter when I was rocking Tiger on my beige G3! Never got much traction on the G3 with them, and the newness of the MacPro - with the fact that I jumped almost immediately to Leopard, made me forget these themes. Once I managed to install Mojave on my MP3,1 with Dosdude's patcher, and saw the dark Apple UI, it made me realize how much I missed Shapeshifter! Am still in the process of making screengrabs, but since Unsanity's update servers are long gone, many of the guikits do not apply well. :( Boo! Oh well, a bit of nostalgia and yeah, the dark Apple UI doesn't have anything on AmuNRaa. Seriously, Apple should have taken tips from that theme's designers. Can't touch it and with a version of TenFourFox that is running on intel, with Chris Pederick's User Agent Switcher and uBO 1.16.4.20 so far, Tiger is actually more stable than I recalled. Am using it RIGHT NOW.

    Question regarding unexpected application crashes

    just downloaded mojave today (fml), and one of my third party apps won't open anymore. was hoping someone could help direct me in finding a solution.

    i've tried going through terminal to allow the opening of the app from 'anywhere'. i've reinstalled the app as well, but can't seem to even get it running.

    edit: it appear the certificate for all tnt apps were removed. anyone know a way around this?

    Integrate image to an internet shortcut on the dock ?

    Hi, I want to put internet shortcut with a nice image on the shortcut and put them on the right of the dock. I tried paste image on the info of the weblock and then on the dock It work BUT if I put the initial image in the bin it remove the image form the shortcut. So how to "integrate" this image to the shortcut so it stay on it without the original image ?
