| IPhone SE 1ST Gen not showing life. Posted: 07 May 2020 10:31 PM PDT I have an (IPhone SE 1ST Gen) That i used to own and i gave it to my brother. My brother has not charged it because the lightning cable wasn't mfi certified and because of covid 19 i couldn't go out often where i live (Canada) and the mfi certified cables were expensive. After 2 days i went to go get my new phone and after that i went to go get the cable. So when i plugged it in to the cable i left it for a few hours and it wasn't showing signs of life or it wasn't showing the charging symbol. | Posted: 07 May 2020 08:53 PM PDT Hello, I am helping my sister solve her iPhone problems; I personally do not own one. According to iCloud, She backed up her phone to iCloud under software version 13.4.5. After restoring her phone, the software version is showing 13.4.1 and both "iTunes" and her phone "Software update" page are showing the phone as up to date. Bottom line, We are unable to download her iCloud backup data because her phone is refusing to update from 13.4.1 to 13.4.5, and the restore from backup screen is saying "no iCloud backups are compatible with the version of iOS 13.4.1" [link] [comments]  |

As a schoolteacher working remotely, she downloaded Google Voice to call her students' parents without her real number (district privacy stuff). When she did so, the app prompted her if she wanted to transfer over her contacts. She clicked NO. Ever since then her contacts in her normal iPhone contact, messages, and phone apps have been randomly deleting themselves. She'll text a friend and when they respond it has no contact name. It's seemingly random as sometimes she'll go to text someone she hasn't talked to since before this and the contact will be gone. We've tried updating the phone but honestly not sure if the Google Voice is related to this at all or a coincidence? Maybe a bug? What should we do? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 07 May 2020 08:24 PM PDT I've had an iPhone 6s and it has been glitchy ever since I had it back in in the summer of 2019 but in the past few days it has been having a major problem. My phone is stuck in a boot loop/black screen of death combo. In is stuck in a boot loop when connected to power but when it is disconnected it has a black screen of death. Even when connected to my laptop and computer, the phone does not go to boot loop mode. It stays in black screen of death mode. Can someone please help me. | iPhone 6s does not appear in iTunes when plugged into my computer (Trust prompt appears) Posted: 07 May 2020 08:10 PM PDT Trying to backup/sync my phone before I send in the 6s for trade-in per the instructions on the Apple website. I transferred all data to my new iPhone SE already with the proximity option when I booted the phone for the first time. When I plug the iPhone into my computer, Windows makes a sound and my phone asks me if I want to trust this computer. I click Allow and then nothing happens. The iPhone appears as a device in my Windows explorer, but not in iTunes. Both the iPhone and iTunes are on the most recent versions. I have tried multiple lightning cables and have rebooted multiple times. Outside of uninstalling iTunes, I'm not sure what else to do. Is it absolutely necessary I backup/sync my phone if I already did a direct transfer to my new iPhone SE? If it is not, can I just sign out and wipe my iPhone 6s and mail it into Apple so I can get trade-in credit? Thank you! [link] [comments]  |

So the other day it fell out of my pocket and now there's a hole in the top of my phone. Other than a broken lock button, It was working completely fine up until this morning when all these green and grey lines and black dots appeared on the screen. It opens random apps and I can't really click anything. I have a previously mentioned broken lock button, so restarting the phone is not an option and with all the stores closed, I can't bring it in to get fixed. I don't know what to do and my parents are gonna burn me at the stake if I don't figure out how to fix it, so if anyone knows how to fix it and could tell me, that would be great. The intercom calls the iPhone 8. Is there a way to, not "forward the call" completely, but have the iPhone 8 forward to the XR and allow either user to answer on their own phone? | Posted: 07 May 2020 02:29 PM PDT Hi there, so my gf has been having some pretty bad storage issues and with the current pandemic she cant get it into a store or let me look at it etc so ill try explain it all as best as possible. iPhone 7 Plus 32gb. with 25gb iCloud storage. There are about 5 apps on the phone as she has tried to delete them all to save storage. Curretly on iOS 13.2 but cant update the software because of the storage issue. Both iCloud and phone storage were full so she deleted apps etc photos but after this happened the storage never updated but the apps are gone and then photos would say they are deleted by then re appear shortly after. Her photos take up the most space but no where near the 25gb she could use the cloud to store them in. Another issue that old photos become blurry and cant be viewed properly. Why is this?I've tried to point her to a few things but havent been able to resolve it. Some apps started to show a cloud with an arrow i think next to them before they were 'deleted'. Anyone have any ideas to help resolve this? I tried the apple forums and then told me to check the storage and delete stuff, yes I have already done that unsurisingly haha. | iPhone 11 Pro — Gamma/Black level/Contrast issues Posted: 07 May 2020 01:42 PM PDT Hey guys, I really hope someone can help me out. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to well calibrated screens and lately I noticed that somehow my iPhone 11 Pro started feeling a little off, so I went back to my iPhone X and compared some scenes on several streaming services and yeah – there's definitely something off. Compared to my X, the 11 Pro has a really low contrast ratio, extremely bad black levels and a way too high Gamma. And I'm running out ideas what to do, as I really don't think I can live with that considering that I watch most of my content on the iPhone. Note: It's not about the yellow tint, I actually prefer more yellowish screens. Another thing I noticed is the ridiculous amount of posterization and compression artifacts compared to my X even though that might also be an issue with Netflix compression and bitrate reduction currently. Here's a comparison photo with the X on top and the 11 Pro beneath (https://imgur.com/N62oFea) Obviously I cranked up the exposure a little to make it more visible. Since I'm still within warranty, would there be a chance for me to receive a new device? I've bought new apple 18w charger and usb-c/lightning Belkin ( MFi certificate) cable which supports fast charge/PD but my iPhone still won't charge fast. Even with the new charger and the cable my iPhone charges for about 3hrs. I had thought that maybe the optimized battery charging was causing this problem but still after I had turned it off my iPhone charges like with regular 5w charger. Any ideas ?? [link] [comments]  |
| USB Audio from iphone SE to Macbook Air - No sound :( Posted: 07 May 2020 08:38 AM PDT Hi guys, I am trying to get USB Audio running from my iphone SE 12.4.1 to my MacbookAir 10.14.6 The phone is listed in the Audio Midi Setup and Enabled. A new ipHone device appeared ( 44khz/2ch/24bit). I selected it to use as Input. The volume is fullly turned up on the Macbook. The volume is forced by iOS to max on the iPhone SE ( as expected ). Here are three screenshots from the Macbook with one showing the iphone selected as an output device with signal level peaked at the end. So sound is being received, but not actually heard from the Macbook speakers or with headphones in the 3.5mm jack. Playing music on the iphone SE does not produce any sound anywhere.
