- Wiped down my iPhone 7 with toilet paper (water + hand soap soaked). Went over the home button and bottom grills as well. Next, I ran the whole device under tap water for 6-8 secs to partially rinse it off (to make drying it afterwards easier). Home button lost haptic feedback?

| iPhone 11 Pro won't stop vibrating! or turn off! Posted: 15 May 2020 01:07 PM PDT My phone started vibrating when I got a call this morning and has simply not stopped. It's been 6 hours. It won't turn off (I've tried forcing it to restart by holding the sleep and volume down keys, it never turned off even after over a minute straight pressing the two buttons). I have it in a bag of rice right now even though there's no possible water damage that I can think of. I'm trying to erase the phone and then use my backup from yesterday; it's been 3 hours and it still hasn't erased, it just has the apple icon with a bar trying (and failing) to load underneath. I'm waiting for it to die but am scared it will just keep vibrating even after I turn it back on. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be happening? [link] [comments]  |
| iPhone 8 Plus back camera not working Posted: 15 May 2020 09:21 PM PDT I've had this phone for about a year or two and it's still in pretty good condition no cracks on front or back but today while I was about to sit down I tried to get it out of my pocket but it sort of flew out of my hand onto the floor kinda hard and screen first, I do have a case and a screen protector on it so nothing happened to the actual screen but it did get some new cracks on the protector but everything else looked good and at the time the camera did work (I was on snap) and when I turned it to selfie mode it was glitch sort of then it wouldn't go back to the back facing camera, I tried turning it off and on again but that doesn't seem to work it just shows a black screen [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 15 May 2020 07:17 PM PDT I'm hoping it's just a matter of any remaining soapy water drying up before the home button's taptic feedback starts working again. I'm just worried the soap/water may have somehow gone into the crevices around the home button and messed with the fingerprint sensor, or somehow affected the general internal area near where the home button is located. The home button itself is still working (e.g. bringing up Siri, unlocking phone, going back home, etc.), however I don't seem to be getting the vibration that comes with a normal press of the iPhone 7 home button. The closest thing to a vibration that I'm getting is a small distorted squishy sound resembling its click when I press home. Is this something to wait out? I mean it was only under (cool) water for like 8 secs max. I had the bottom grills facing downwards the entire time (so water wasn't directly pouring into any of the bottom ports/grills). Isn't iPhone 7 water resistant (IP67)? EDIT: Just realized there's no haptic feedback when I switch on silent mode either. [link] [comments]  |

| Cannot open iPhone backup in any backup extraction programs Posted: 15 May 2020 03:50 PM PDT Hello, hopefully this is the right sub to ask, if not, I apologize and I would be grateful if someone could direct me to a better place. I'm trying to view an iphone backup from 2012. I was able to do this with absolutely no problem using iBackup Extractor a couple years ago, I believe on my previous computer. But now, using the same backup files and the same program, I can't. The program just crashes whenever I press "restore." I tried a few other programs, too, but none of them will recognize or successfully open anything. Any ideas as to possible causes of what went wrong? [link] [comments]  |

I figured it was cause the phone was older. plugging it in fixed the issue. About a month ago, that number went up to 10% A week after that 15% Last week it went up to lagging at 25% Three days ago at 65% it would start lagging. Just before posting this it started lagging at 85%. Plugging it in still fixes the issue, but what the hell is causing this? Some things that I thought it could be are

| New replacement battery last the same as the old one Posted: 15 May 2020 05:13 AM PDT I have an Iphone 7, and I recenly ordered a cheap replacement battery, but even tho It says 100% capacity, I barely even lasts as long as the original battery that I had in my phone at 70% capacity. So I reqested an other battery, and I sent the bad one back. So guess what.. the other "new" battery lasts the same time too. So I sent it back again, and got an other junk one! (and yes, I installed it properly). So my question is. can this be fixed, or are the cheap batterties all just junk? [link] [comments]  |

So I see that the glass is unsticking on my iPhone SE and from what I see online is that a ton of these phones have the same problem. I saw in one post on Apple support that a "genius" said it's the battery. Unlikely. Not only is the separation always in the top right corner, it's also only the glass that separated. | iPhone XR died after an auto update Posted: 15 May 2020 08:01 AM PDT Pretty much the title. The phone sat on a table all night and updated and when I woke up in the morning it was a paperweight. | Can’t enable auto-delete messages iPhone 6s Posted: 15 May 2020 12:10 PM PDT Idk what's going on. To clear up some gigs I wanna enable the "Auto-delete messages from 30 days ago" because my 6s only has 32 gigs (just updated it, still an issue). When I click the "enable" button, nothing happens. No response. I'll scroll so the button is in a different location, and it won't click. I've never had any issues with the screen being non-responsive and I still don't outside of this isolated incident. | Extremely Strange Safari Problem Posted: 15 May 2020 04:28 AM PDT Hey everyone. Hoping for some help. Having a really odd problem with Safari on my iPhone XS Max, with 13.4.1 OSX. Phone was purchased in October 2019. Today I pulled up safari and went to type in a web address that began with the letter "S." The keyboard froze and so did safari. No big, kill the app and reopen. It's still stuck on the same page. Kill it a second time and relaunch. It reverts back to the last page I was on. Go to type in the address again and it locks up. Every time I type in "S" as the starting letter it locks and I have to close and open, close and open. Did the simple stuff like reboot the phone, and went into web data and started deleting any sites starting with "S" that had any actual data next to it (as opposed to 0.0mb). I can type every other letter of the alphabet except for "S". I'm not sure when this started because the last few days I've most stuck to my favorites. I'm sure the simplest answer is to clear history and web data. But I'd like to avoid that. I can, however, start with "www.s" and get to the site. Also, I've got no issues starting with S in my Firefox browser. I'm totally perplexed by this. Like I said, clearing all history and web data is the obvious place to start but I'd like to avoid that. | recovering data/photos from an iPhone that isn't backed up Posted: 15 May 2020 08:35 AM PDT Last night my iphone (2017 SE) gave me the white apple screen of death. My memory was nearly full and I was in the process of trying to delete photos and apps to free up space. Now, it stays in the white apple screen of death and does not advance to anything else (except see as follows). The phone is not recognized when I plug it into my laptop, and iTunes does not recognize it either. I have tried putting it in recovery mode (holding power + home buttons) and get the black screen with a lightning cable aiming at a laptop. At this point, iTunes prompts me to try to update the version of iOS on the phone. I attempted this, and it failed. Now it says I must restore the phone. However, I don't have anything backed up (stupid me, I know). I have some photos/videos that it would kill me to lose. Is there anything I can do to save this data? Thank you! [link] [comments]  |
