I want to make a setup where I can dock my MBP at home at a desk using only an external monitor with the laptop closed. I heard that some monitors are even capable of charging the laptop at the same time as well. Is that a possibility? If so what equipment would I need? Last time the date and time being off was why it couldn't connect to the internet. I can't find my old post with the answer on mobile, can anyone let me know how to fix it? The fix that actually worked involved going into the all-black part (I know, am luddite) and typing a code.... I've only had it back for a day and it's lasting between 4 and 6 hours on a charge. Before it was lasting around 10. What is the battery life on your machines? On occasion I will use do some editing in Lightroom. I currently own a 27" 4k monitor that I used to use with a 13" MacBook Pro (running at 60Hz). I have since had to return the 13" MacBook Pro as it was a work computer and I have now left that job. A refurbished 2018 Mac Mini with 6-core i7 processor, 512Gb SSD and 16Gb RAM is about half the cost of a refurbished baseline 16 inch MacBook Pro (that has a 6-core i7, 512Gb SSD, and 16Gb RAM). Is the upgrade to the 16" MacBook Pro worth it, if I plan on doing 90% of my work from my home office or am I better off saving ~$1400 CAD? PS. For reference the 13" MacBook Pro I was using for the last year was a 2016, 2-core i5 model. [link] [comments]  | ||

Have to use Microsoft Teams for work and about 30 mins into the call the fans get very loud. I know teams is pretty power intensive or not utilized correctly. | Keyboard and trackpad not working after new battery installed. Posted: 19 May 2020 10:51 AM PDT I've just installed a new battery and now my keyboard and trackpad don't work, I'm able to use the power button to turn it on but nothing works beyond that. I've opened it up again and checked the kb/trackpad cable and it looks fine, I can post pictures as well if needed. Does anyone have any suggestions please? [link] [comments]  |
