Too many OPs who don’t reply to answers or follow-up questions. Posted: 03 Apr 2020 06:49 PM PDT Of the last two dozen questions I've answered in this sub, 10 or 11 of them don't ever get a response or an acknowledgement from OP. They ask a question—sometimes with the words "urgent" or "please help" in the title. Multiple people respond with a solution or suggestion or a link to an Apple support article. And OP never returns, never upvotes an answer, never says thank you, etc. Or OP will ask a question and people will respond with follow up questions to get clarification, and OP will again vanish never to return. Venting a little because I've noticed it makes me want to stop offering help. Anyone else getting similarly frustrated? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 04 Apr 2020 12:34 AM PDT I am unable to use many of the apps on my laptop due to not having enough disc space, however, I don't know how to correct this issue. I bought additional cloud space and deleted apps I was not using but it's not helping. I am going to attach screenshots of the details of what I think is necessary to diagnose the issue. thank you [link] [comments] |

iPhone loses WiFi, says correct password is incorrect Posted: 03 Apr 2020 11:37 PM PDT Hi, this problem is on an older phone, an iPhone 5SE. It will randomly drop the wi-fi connection. When you try to reconnect, it'll say incorrect password. However, when you type the password in, it still says incorrect. I know for a fact the password is right and hasn't changed. Any idea what causes this? I've tried resetting network settings and it doesn't work. Restarting the router will work but I'd still like to get to the bottom of why this happens at all. Posted: 03 Apr 2020 11:15 PM PDT I tried using HoudahGeo to shift the times around, hoping that this might make a difference, to no avail. Some time zones include Guam, Japan and Pacific to name a few. In addition, when I look at iPhone pictures taken in some of these locations, they're not even close to when I remember taking them. So it feels like I'm juggling 3 different image times: the camera time, my iPhone time of similar pictures, as well as the local time here on the East Coast relative to the other time zones. Help setting up video chat for my son's online class w/ a 2007 iMac Posted: 03 Apr 2020 07:15 PM PDT My son starts online learning this Tuesday and I need some guidance on how to configure his computer. Both Chrome and Firefox say they are unable to open the google meeting link b/c of the OS. I never updated it b/c there are some programs installed (pirated) years ago including the entire CS5 collection and Microsoft Office. My son uses these apps daily. He would be SO upset if I lost them. Here's my son's computer specs: 21" iMac - Mid-2007 - Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with CS5 / Microsoft Office installed (pirate). [link] [comments] |
iPhone 11 no longer receiving texts from Android Posted: 03 Apr 2020 10:47 PM PDT As the title says I bought an iPhone 11 product (red) from gazelle on the at&t network to use on the cricket network which for the last few weeks has been working just fine without any issues whatsoever. Yesterday I realized I was not getting any texts from my wife or anyone with an Android device I am on the 13.4 software currently and am not receiving any kind of error message or anything I just cannot get any texts from any Android device but I get calls from them just fine it's just the texts that I don't get.another thing to note is that they get my texts and calls no problem it's just the SMS coming to me that I don't get but iMessage is not giving me any issues either. I have tried to
I'm not sure what else to do I have been surfing forums online for a few hours with no results. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Apr 2020 10:37 PM PDT So this is the first time my iMac has ever done this. I switched over to Spectrum Wi-Fi a few months ago and never had any problems whatsoever. There's a 2G and a 5G connection I can choose from but neither of them work. They both show up on the list of nearby Networks, and I can even connect to both of them. It has the little check mark next to it that lets you know you're connected. But whenever I go on Safari, or try going to YouTube, Google, Gmail, etc. It doesn't do anything. It takes forever and I eventually get a screen that says "Safari Can't Connect to the Server." I even tried connecting to my iPhones Hotspot, which also has always worked. I've tried everything. I even switched to Google Chrome because I thought it might've been Safari causing all the problems. Still nothing. So that's when I thought my Wi-Fi was just down. So I unplugged my Router/Modem and then plugged it back in and that didn't do anything. Then I restarted my iMac, but that didn't do anything either. That's when I asked to see my Mom's MacBook Pro and my Grandmother's iPad Pro. Both of them were connected to our Wi-Fi Networks. The same ones I was connected to, but theirs were working fine. Both of them were able to go on Gmail, play a video on YouTube, search for something on Google, etc. So when that happened I officially gave up because I had no idea what is wrong. It has to be my iMac, right? It has to be that because my Mom and Grandmother are connected to the same Wi-Fi Networks as me, except their Internet was working perfectly. I have no idea what's wrong or going on with my iMac. Has anyone else experienced this before? Does anyone know what to do? Or anything I can try? Thank you for your time... [link] [comments] |
Macbook’s screen flickering and audio glitching Posted: 03 Apr 2020 10:33 PM PDT Hey there, today I was listening to music on my speaker (which was from connected to my macbook air), and randomly my music became distorted and started glitching really badly. I walked over to my computer to see what was going on, and saw that my screen was flickering with a black screen. I instantly shut it down and closed the laptop, then made sure it wasn't charging. It wont turn on now. What do I do? [link] [comments] |
Can I swap the Logic board of my 2012 11 Inch MBA with that of a 2015 11 Inch MBA? Posted: 03 Apr 2020 04:28 PM PDT Just as the title of my post suggests, I'm looking into swapping those two Logic Boards. Is it feasible or there isn't much of a point in doing that? Thanks in advance! Edit - a word, cause apparently I can't type using a keyboard, nor proofread what I'm posting. [link] [comments] |
MacBook Settings Not Accepting Newly Changed Password Posted: 03 Apr 2020 06:34 PM PDT I have a 2015 MacBook Air with High Sierra OS. I just updated it today and just updated my login password after noticing how weak it was (think Password123 kinda weak). My problem all started when I tried to start running Nord VPN on my computer. It asked me for my Keychain password. I have no idea what it is, I never wrote it down because I didn't think it was important (I thought it was something to do with my external hard drive so I just forgot about it completely). When I went to try and reset my Keychain password, it told me I needed to update my iCloud preferences. I also have been having problems with iCloud not taking my password so I tried a reset on that as well. Finally, I got to this point: MacBook is asking me to enter my password for this MacBook Air. I thought perfect, I just updated it so easy peasy. Enter. Boom. Nothing. Says it is incorrect. Try old password. Incorrect. Go back and change the MacBook password (again) to another password (thinking I misspelled it the first time). Go and try the newest password. Also incorrect. Now it tells me too many wrong attempts and to try again in an hour. So what gives? Is this just another way for Apple to be well, Apple and make every Apple owner's life miserable? Where did I go wrong and how do I fix it. I just want Nord VPN running. [link] [comments] |

I have a corrupted High Sierra Security Update Posted: 03 Apr 2020 09:57 PM PDT Hello, I am running an old 2009 iMac with a Core 2 Duo with FileVault activated. I just downloaded another security update from the App Store, and was promoted to reboot my machine. When the mac came alive again, I was warned about the download file being corrupted, and had to redownload the update again. I hit the only button (which was restart). I signed in, checked for updates, and was told everything was up to date. How can I be sure that update was somehow installed? [link] [comments] |
