So Many Cheap 4K's on Letgo/Offer Up, Why?

I've been looking to buy a new Apple TV 4K to replace a 2nd gen, and I don't mind getting something lightly used. But I'm seeing a lot of sealed "new" 4K's on Letgo and Offer Up that are around the $100-$130 price. I get someone marking down an open box, but it's kinda odd to see such a markdown on what's advertised as new and sealed.

Thoughts and any risks to buying?

First impressions are performance is improved and remote touch sensitivity is much more responsive on ATV4k!

Title. When I put it in correctly, it will wait about a minute before asking me again. When I hit the back button to get the login thing off my screen it comes back faster and faster. How do I fix this so I can actually use my Apple TV?

Edit: it is an Apple TV 4 (not 4K version).

Apple TV Auto Shut Off?

Randomly I get a message on my screen every so often that says "Auto Shut Off blah blah count down 60, 59, 58 secs etc"

How can I stop this from happening?

Wait for new Apple TV?

I have finally decided to buy an Apple TV. However, I am not sure if I should wait or not. What do you all think the likelihood of Apple dropping a new version in 2020 is? And more importantly if they do, will I be bummed out to miss out on new features? I'm not an expert on any technological advances in streaming devices of late. So I thought I would turn to this group for insights. As a reference, I plan on using the device for streaming not really gaming. That's what my PS4 is for! TIA

Reset Apple TV and lost controller

I had reset my Apple TV 3rd gen and completely forgot I had already lost the original controller. Is there anyways of getting it reconnected? If I purchase another controller from amazon or someone else, will it work with my Apple TV and how do I connect it?

Factory Resetting 2nd Gen ��TV, but with with some issues

Got a 2nd gen TV from a free bin, only the box, no remote. Have an iPad I could use the remote app with, but when trying to turn the box on, it says it the username or password is incorrect. I assume the person didn't bother factory resetting it. Before I try to buy a remote, can I factory reset a box like this?

New user : I can't adjust the volume

Hello, I bought an Apple TV 4K. Everything work but not the volume control +/- on the remote.

I have a basic Hisense TV 4K 43N5700. I switched on settings between Auto / TV via IR, not hing change.

Tested the the app remote on my iPhone, doesn't work.

Did i forget something? Thank you ! :)

Update: My TV had a IR receptor.
