Apple TV 4K, LG C9, Dolby Atmos, Samsung Sound Bar HW-MS650 and Audio Delay Posted: 07 Feb 2020 12:03 AM PST I'm nearly at my wits end. I currently have the Apple TV hooked up directly to my C9 and the audio from the C9 fed to my sound bar via Optical. With this setup, any time I have Atmos enabled I am plagued with horrific audio delay. On the order of up to a full second. Is there something wrong with my current audio configuration that prevents me from getting Atmos audio through my sound bar? Do I need to upgrade to a newer sound bar? Mine is from 2017 I think. Posted: 06 Feb 2020 02:25 PM PST It seems like since today, that I can't open the Steam Link app anymore. Apple TV brings up the open animation when I click on it, but immediately cancels animation. I did a restart as well as re-installing the app. No luck. Anyone else having the problem? [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Feb 2020 09:15 PM PST I've searched and have found a few threads on this but it seems like it's always changing so it's hard to find a straight answer that is up to date. So Is there any way to mirror my PC display to my Apple TV ? If not mirroring everything how about just mirroring from a media player? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2020 05:58 PM PST I'm using an aTV 4K (latest software) with a Samsung AW-Q90R and an LG C9. Tonight when watching "Star Trek: Picard" using the CBS all access aTV channel (not the app), We had sound problems just short of the 30 minute mark. At first, the sound was off by about 5 seconds. Then after killing and restarting the TV app, we lost all sound. I power cycled everything, then the sound came back, but we were only getting the LR channels. (No surrounds or sub). Other non-CBS content played fine . We switched to watching on the CBSAA app, and it was fine there, although the sound was off by a hair. If I go back and play it in the aTV app, the sound is still messed up. Did anyone else have this problem? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2020 10:07 PM PST I'm air playing a media from my phone to TV and i can't help but notice that "soap opera effect". When i bought my tv that's the first setting i disabled so i have no idea why it's showing up now. Is there a fix for this ? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2020 01:27 PM PST I'm frustrated that tvOS 13.X has jumped onto the "pop stuff up over my show" bandwagon. It's doing this in two places: 1) "Up next" coming up over the show credits. I guess I'm one of the few humans that watches credits. (And it's not nearly as bad as in Netflix where they shrink the screen.) This is really annoying with "The Good Place", where the show itself continues to run throughout the credits. 2) The picture-in-picture icon that pops up whenever I hit pause or rewind covers up subtitles. This badly interacts with the "What did they say" Siri feature. Is there any way to turn off either of these? Not to mention, _all_ forms of autoplay. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2020 06:38 PM PST To date, I've been running into an old 26" LCD and I think it's time for an upgrade. Here are my hangups:
What should I get? If I go through a HomePod will the volume controls work? Will I have to select it as the output each and every time? I'll only be using the TV for an Apple TV and occasionally a Switch. [link] [comments]
Missing metadata for purchased iTunes movies Posted: 06 Feb 2020 01:52 PM PST I've purchased a movie (Unforgiven) from the TV App on my MacBook and all of the metadata on the actual landing page for the film on the store is present and visible, however when I view the movie details on my Mac Apple TV app, the data is empty, and the director is listed as unknown despite showing up as Clint Eastwood on the actual store page. Any reason this could occur? [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Feb 2020 06:23 AM PST Hello all. I've been trying to watch the new episode of the Picard series, and episode 3 seems to have issues with the audio encoding around minute 26 on all my devices. I don't have a direct subscription through iTunes, so I can't seem to access the regular subscription from Apple TV + for CBS all access, and can't seem to find a way to resolve the audio syncing issues. I wondered if anyone else was having this problem, on the off chance some of you watch Picard Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2020 08:40 AM PST I was suffering from issues with the traditional 18 but it got resolved with the 48 GBPS hdmi. Haven't had any issues in 2 years. Is it a bigger pipe to better handle multitasks? [link] [comments]
