I just picked up my first MacBook! Posted: 01 Feb 2020 11:49 AM PST I have picked up the MacBook from 2016 second hand and so far I am really loving it but I have heard that the keyboard is not very good at all. Is there any truth to that? [link] [comments]
Better battery life question: Should the laptop be plugged in or not when 100% - Elaborate: Posted: 01 Feb 2020 04:17 PM PST Laptops are great for mobility. But when you have set up your workstation, and can have it either plugged in or not, and don't mind, what is the better course of action? Unplug the battery? Leave it connected? How often should you go for a full discharge cycle, into charging? Reasoning - Discuss. Apple used to recommend a once a month discharge, into full charge. No longer on website. How about easy way for send file between Macbook with Android phone? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 09:40 PM PST Good Afternoon Macbook user, I wanna to know how to send file between Macbook with Android device. If anyone know better way to do that please help me. Thanks, [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Feb 2020 03:08 PM PST Hello reddit. I just because the owner of a new MacBook Pro 16", never having had a MacBook before. I am having just one worry. It seems like getting dust/other stuff inside your speaker grills might be unavoidable being right on top right next to the keyboard, unless you're in a sterile environment. How do you guys keep dust out/clean it? [link] [comments]
Every MacBook charger I've ever had sparks Posted: 01 Feb 2020 06:11 PM PST Hey!I came across the thread about MacBook chargers sparking, but it's too old. There are people who are like: "Buy genuine Apple chargers" bullshit, but every MacBook charger I've ever had has sparked a lot whenever I've plugged those in the wall. Ever since I've owned my first MacBook from 2008 and bought it from the store with the original charger. They all spark for whatever reason and sometimes (even now) I saw a spark from MagSafe. Eventually all of the Apple charger's I've ever had have broken down (even the iPhone's) and I do not have this problem with other charger. I have an old backup phone that cost me 60€ (Huawei) and it's charger is better than iPhone's. At least the wire isn't peeling off. This isn't a troll post. Does anyone have the same problem? When I google it, I see many people having the same problem, but from Reddit and other Apple forums I see useless answer. Is there any "Apple lover" that admits that there's a problem? Apple's price to quality ration isn't adding up. https://www.imore.com/sos-my-macbook-charging-cable-fraying-how-do-i-save-it This is what my MacBook chargers end up looking like in a few years, but I dont have this problem with PCs. What the hell? Edit: I also agree with the comments: "apple cables are crap because they are made from soft rubbery coatings. They wire inside eventually takes all the force and will fray after the coating is gone. They need to just use better outer materials that can take the load." I've looked after my Apple cables. I dont even bend my iPhone's charger and it starts peeling off, I dont step on it, nothing. I have handled all of my Apple cables with care as have other people. I'm not going to spend $70 for another cable. I bought a new iPhone charger (just a cable) for $20 the last year from Apple and it starts to 'peel off' again. What the hell man? I'm giving up on Apple. Another edit: I have an iPod Nano (with charger and wire) from 2007 and it is still very fine and functioning. No sparks, good strong wire, no peeling, nothing. Something has def. happened to Apple. Now getting downvotes. It can't be the wrong subreddit, because I found the same this thread by Googling the same issue and the comments were like: "Buy genuine apple chargers" What if I have genuine Apple chargers? External monitor flickering on and off on Macbook 12' late 2016 Posted: 01 Feb 2020 05:11 PM PST I have a acer xv272u, a arktek usb-c to hdmi adapter and a late 2016 Macbook 12 inch (Software is up to date) When I try to output anything more then 1080p 60fps, the screen flickers on and off. So far, 1080p60 has been the less "buggy". The external display itself is still recognized in the macbook settings when flickering. Things I tried:
Is there anything I could do to fix the problem? Edit: Video of the problem [link] [comments]

Can somebody check the performance of Final Fantasy XV on 16" Macbook Pro? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 02:14 PM PST I know that macs aren't for gaming. I am trying to decide between a Microsoft Surface Book 2 and Macbook pro 16 (or I'll wait for a new 13" that should come out soon). Surface book seems to have many issues according to reviews, so I might give Apple a try... but... don't get me wrong, this laptop will be primarily for work, BUT I JUST LOVE GAMING. So I'd like to know how Final Fantasy XV (on bootcamp) works on the 16 inch. [link] [comments]
I recently moved five photos to a folder on my desktop and all my five disappeared. Posted: 01 Feb 2020 01:25 PM PST I can't find them in my trash bin, on the desktop or on the folder anymore. The MacBook Pro is from 2016. Anyone have an idea what could have happened. [link] [comments]
MacBook Pro new display keyboard and battery all free Posted: 01 Feb 2020 07:18 AM PST Brought my 17' MacBook Pro into Apple for sticky keyboard issue. I also told tech to write up screen that I want it replaced because of the anti-glare issue. He wrote it up and sent it in, he also told me Apple usually replaces the battery when they replace the keyboard? Fingers crossed. It'll be like a new MacBook. [link] [comments]
Battery health and overall heavy usage question please Posted: 01 Feb 2020 08:26 AM PST Forgive me for always asking silly things but I tend to baby expensive tech. My question is i installed parallels with windows 10 last night to run a game I use to love playing and noticed that of course the battery only lasted 2-3 hours at most and at times the fans were being used heavily with high cpu usage. Of course I know this is a pro model but should be at all worried about this if I want to game for long hours or potentially doing multiple charge cycles if I don't want to keep it plugged in all the time? Don't want to ruin the battery but I do enjoy being wireless with it. Thanks for any input. [link] [comments] |
