Software won't uninstall, said to be 'self healing'? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 09:37 PM PST I've got a program that won't uninstall. It doesn't have an uninstaller and if I delete the files it reinstalls after a reboot. My company suggested downloading the software, they're based in China, I'm based outside. But I realised it basically just downloaded programs from the programs site, which might be hard in China, but simple here. And then the permissons (profile) it asked for seem a big dodgy (it can delete all data, lock the screen, add remove stuff etc). Just want to know if anyone knows how to uninstall it. My work won't send an uninstaller and said its self healing. [link] [comments] |
Can’t use airpods with camera app without it bugging out Posted: 01 Feb 2020 09:26 PM PST Everytime I open the camera app or FaceTime with my airpods connected, it keeps on focusing and unfocusing every second, and it doesn't stop. It's like a flashing pattern, and I'm pretty sure my camera is not broken, because everytime I disconnect them it works fine. Please help. [link] [comments] |
Updating Macbook caused the battery to drain faster Posted: 01 Feb 2020 08:30 PM PST I have a 2014 Macbook Pro and its' been about a year since I lasted updated it before today. Since I've updated it I've noticed my battery is dying much faster. I've gone from it lasting me all day no problem to it dying in about 2 hrs. I know apple has planned obsolescence but is there anyway to revert back to the old system ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Feb 2020 07:35 PM PST I couldn't find diagram or a picture of disassembled one online. Is there a small woofer similar to one in a bookshelf speaker? What is it made of? Got this question after dipping my phone in water, just curious. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Feb 2020 07:34 PM PST My MacBook 12 has a problem with my Home wifi, after a while internet is droping and ceny find my wifi, only restarting by turning off and on again works. I'm a little bit pissed off on that so please help me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Feb 2020 04:19 PM PST So i've posted this on the Apple Support Community thing but nobody seems to be able to give me an answer so i'm hoping someone here can shed some light on this. The app is called "Email Client - myMail" and it isn't an app i've ever used, installed or even heard of until I saw it on my list. It's been having daily usage for as far back as screen time will let me check. For the time being I've set a limit to allow 1 minute per day, seeing as I can't think of any way to stop it. Just some background info: I have an iPhone 8 with the most recent iOS Public Beta installed. [link] [comments] |
Does erasing phone B impact phone A? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 09:59 PM PST Hello everyone, got two questions for you: Question 1: I have two iphones. They both link to my Apple ID. Does erasing phone B impact phone A? I am asking because they both link to same iClound. Question 2: When I clicked erase all contents and settings, a error message pops up: Verification Failed: The connection to iCloud timed out. Any idea? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Feb 2020 05:37 PM PST It started doing this today and I updated 2-3 days ago. Edit: I restarted my phone and it fixed it. [link] [comments] |
Lost 50% of my iCloud Keychain Passwords after selling MacBook Posted: 01 Feb 2020 08:33 PM PST Hi everyone! Hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. Just upgraded to a 16" (go me!), so selling my old rMBP 15" 2013. Googled what I needed to do in order to detach all my Apple ID from it. I signed out of Apple Music (iTunes), iMessage, iCloud (in System Preferences) and turned off Find My before wiping the hard drive and reinstalling MacOS. I thought all was well. Everything seemed to sign out fine. Just today, I had to sign into some websites on my new 16", and low and behold the keychains for those passwords are no longer in my iCloud. I thought I was seeing things at first. But sure enough, I checked my iCloud passwords, and it had gone down from 99 logins to 50! (Jokes about having 99 passwords are welcome) Does anyone know why this might have happened? Maybe I pressed a wrong button signing out of all my iCloud logins on my old Mac? This seems like super strange behaviour for simply removing my Apple ID. Here's hoping I can remember the logins for half of my websites :/ [link] [comments] |
Need help with an iPhone 6s stuck on iOS 9.0.2 Posted: 01 Feb 2020 08:06 PM PST So I've had my iPhone 6s for years and I HATE change. It's jailbroken with all the mods that I love but as you probably know I basically can't use safari anymore (it doesn't open websites at all) and pretty much every app in the App Store are obsolete (every time I try to download something it says this app requires iOS 10 or 11). As much as I love how my phone is set up I have to upgrade the iOS, but iTunes no longer supports 9.0.2 so I can't backup my pictures (over 5,000 pics) and music (over 1,000 songs), plus I'm concerned I'll lose all of my contacts. Can someone help me out and explain how to unjailbreak this phone & salvage my pics, music, etc... And upgrade to the latest possible iOS! I would greatly appreciate it. [link] [comments] |
Forgot the Content Restrictions Password on an iPhone Posted: 01 Feb 2020 08:00 PM PST We forgot the password for the content restrictions on an iPhone. Looking online, it seems that my only options to fix this are to perform a full factory reset or to plug the phone into a computer, back the files up, and use a third party program to access and edit the files themselves. We don't want to do either of these things, do we have any other options? [link] [comments] |
Is using windows 10 with macbookeant to be so buggy or is it windows 10. Posted: 01 Feb 2020 07:58 PM PST I've been using windows 10 on my Mac to use applications that are not on windows 10 and it is just so frustrating. Using my monitor with macos I can just connect and its runs. But with windows if I have my laptop sleep it will not work with the monitor when I turn it back on which is so frustrating having to restart everytime. Connecting my Bluetooth headphones with macos is just a click of a button but with windows I have to hold my headphones button everytime. Over all running windows 10 on my macos is just feels so sloppy and frustrating. I've been using windows 10 ever since I got my macbook 2 years and just got use to the problems at the start but today when I was playing a game and Reay into it I had to restart my when laptop because it won't connect to my monitor and after all that it would take a whole minute just to connect toy headphones [link] [comments] |
iPhone usage gone after update Posted: 01 Feb 2020 03:40 PM PST So I updated to iOS 13.3.1 on Thursday and saw just now that all data of display usage prior to Thursday got lost... Is this normal and happening on every iOS update or is it not normal? [link] [comments] |
Things appear to install on my MacBook Air but I can't find the application file Posted: 01 Feb 2020 06:49 PM PST Every program I try installing says "successfully installed" at the end, but when I search for the program on Spotlight I find other things (like a PDF of the manual, maybe some other files) but not the program itself. I'm running macOS High Sierra v10.13.6 on an early 2015 MacBook Air 13-inch. I did some Google searches but found nothing that helped. [link] [comments] |

macOS Catalina: Constantly restarting "because of a problem" Posted: 01 Feb 2020 06:23 PM PST I recently updated straight from 10.14.6 to 10.15.3. I usually keep my Macbook connected to my 2 external monitors and with the lid closed through a thunderbolt 3 docking station, as well as some other USB-A to USB-C adapter accessaries. This seems to happen whenever I leave my Macbook sleeping overnight. Not really sure why this happens. Any input? [link] [comments] |
Help recovering files from Mac Posted: 01 Feb 2020 02:21 PM PST Hello! I need help. I wanted to remove some files from the trash and I was getting a message error saying I didnt have permission to do that. So, I searched the web for a terminal command to do it. I used "sudo rm -rf ~/Trash /*". It deleted all my files, and almost everything in my external hard drive that was connected to my mac, including my backup. What can I do? [link] [comments] |

Chrome on Macbook using my dedicated GPU. Posted: 01 Feb 2020 05:38 PM PST Chrome on my 16" Macbook 2019 seems to be using the dedicated GPU which is killing my battery life. Is this a normal occurrence or is it one of my extensions? Just want to figure out if I need to switch to Safari or if there is a way to fix this without disabling hardware acceleration as that slows down browsing by quite a bit. [link] [comments] |
Apple ID/Number likely hacked - Will iMessage on unauthorized Mac show previous texts? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 11:26 AM PST Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. I apologize for any formatting or reddit post creation etiquette issues - this is my first time posting something myself instead of just commenting. TLDR at the bottom. This morning I found a message saying that a Mac had linked to my Apple ID and Phone number to send iMessages. That definitely wasn't me and I don't have any Macs/don't share my password etc. Of course I deleted the device from my ID, changed the password and the password of the email associated to it and then turned on 2 factor authentication (I know, my fault that it wasn't there before). I know they used it because I have spam text messages from a group chat (1 from an app in Chinese called www66338app and two are my own phone number). It looks like I had sent about 20 of the same message with the pics and writing on the right side. I blocked the "app" and later on one of the duplicates of my number disappeared from the group. But, I'm worried about the fact that if they had iMessage on a computer elsewhere, do they have access to my previous text messages and does booting them off remove any access now if they did have it. I have stuff on there like code verification texts -- while I get that they expire, I don't like the idea of someone knowing which financial places I use etc. I want to make sure that I cover as many security issues that I can. Is there a way I can make sure only my physical phone can send iMessages using my number? Does 2 factor take care of that? I don't have a Mac myself to check (I read you need to use an emulator to try it on PC?) what it looks like and I'm concerned about using a 3rd party program. I really appreciate any advice I can get! Thank you for your time! Edit: Adding that I don't have iCloud so I don't think it auto backs up anything if this changes things. TLDR: Apple ID/Number hacked. Will iMessage on unauthorized Mac show texts previous to being linked/after being removed from ID? If so, what can/should I do? [link] [comments] |
External monitor flickering on and off on Macbook 12' late 2016 Posted: 01 Feb 2020 05:22 PM PST I have a acer xv272u, a arktek usb-c to hdmi adapter and a late 2016 Macbook 12 inch (Software is up to date: Version 10.15.3) When I try to output anything more then 1080p 60fps, the screen flickers on and off. So far, 1080p60 has been the less "buggy". The external display itself is still recognized in the macbook settings when flickering. Things I tried:
Is there anything I could do to fix the problem? Edit: Video of the problem [link] [comments] |
