Anyone Else Still Use Their iPod? (click wheel ones not Touch) Posted: 23 Feb 2020 07:53 AM PST Even though streaming for sure has changed the game and given us the opportunity to have tons of more songs at our fingertips for free even! Theres still some form of nostalgia i get from an iPod. Similar to those who still enjoy Vinyls. Anyone else still use an iPod from time to time? [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2020 01:21 AM PST I'm not sure if this is the best place to post but as a form of r/youshouldknow for you guys, here it goes. I know it's not uncommon to receive emails from dubious sources trying to mimic as Apple, be it "Apple ID locked" or "iTunes e-invoice" and whatnot. I tend to be very careful when I receive these emails but I almost fell for it today. I made an Apple Store purchase online today and hours later I received an email from Apple claiming to be my invoice. Since I made a purchase earlier, I did not give too much thought that it might possibly be a scam. However before I clicked on the attachment, I realised that the English was terrible, in the typical scam email language. Although there are many telltale signs when an email is fake, it is still good to be careful, especially in situations like this where you might be expecting an email in the first place. Always check the content of the email (body text) if the subject doesn't give it away immediately, but never make opening any attachments your first move. The email address might suggest to you if it is really from Apple too. Stay digitally safe guys! PS: I should be fine if I did not open the attachment right? [link] [comments]

PSA: Apple Retail Customer Surveys Posted: 22 Feb 2020 04:00 PM PST I was a Genius for 3yrs, no longer am one, but would like to put out this Public Service Announcement for the benefit of all my friends still there. When you fill out a customer service survey sent out to Apple Retail customers, on the backend the questions trickle down to NPS (Net Promoter Score) and TMS (Team Member Score). When you're asked to rate 1/5 "How did Zed do?" that gets filed under TMS. When you're asked to rate 1/5 "What was your overall experience with Apple today?" that gets filed under NPS. 1-3 are considered detractors. 4 is passive. 5 is a promoter. Anything other than 5 brings down the employee's NPS and TMS. Every comment you leave is able to be read by the managers and the employee that either checked you out (Sales), took your appointment (Support), or lead your Today at Apple session (Forum). Internally, employees receive a raise once a year. Multiple factors play into the percentage an employee makes. An employee's NPS is one of those factors, TMS is not. Also not the only factor, but NPS is discussed when employees go for promotions as well, TMS is almost never discussed. So lets pretend you checked in for your Genius Bar appointment, everything was running on time (this is theoretical, btw), the Genius who took your appointment was courteous and efficient when checking in your cracked screen repair, but there were complications with the repair, poor communication in the Repair Room, and then the Genius Admin was unprofessional and did not apologise appropriately when your device was 2hrs late. In this scenario, you legitimately had a bad experience. For the most part, Apple Retail works very well. There is just such high volume that the scenario I describe is bound to happen to some customers (even if it's just one customer per store per day). If you answer that customer survey as the questions are asked and rate the Genius who took your appointment highly but rate the overall store poorly, the only person's NPS you're lowering is the Genius who took your appointment. Here's my ask, when filling out the survey, if you had a good experience with the person who took your appointment but a bad experience overall, please still rate 5/5 for both the Store and the Person, but then go ahead and describe you're experience in the comments. If it was bad, by all means let the store know by filling out the survey. Just please don't potentially decrease the chance's for someone who did their job well getting a better raise or promotion because the person at check-in was rude or someone else failed to do their job accurately. Posted: 23 Feb 2020 02:23 PM PST OK. So I recently realized that I can access all of my Apple movie (and television) purchases (made from iTunes or directly on Apple TVs) on my Prime TV account. How did I not know about this? There are all kinds of issues with people trying to stream their apple tv purchases to various non-Apple devices, but this completely fixes that, considering Prime TV is pretty much on every device. I did a quick google search and haven't seen anything listed about announcements by Apple about this partnership. Is this a generally understood feature?! Where have I been?!?? [link] [comments]
Photo management is impossible Posted: 22 Feb 2020 04:48 PM PST I'm trying to manage my photos. It seems impossible. My iPhone says it has 3,300 photos. My iPad says it has 5,100 photos. Both share iCloud photos. There's no way I have taken 2,000 additional photos on the iPad. I never take photos on the iPad. Where did the extra 2,000 photos come from? The iPad and iPhone have completely different albums. Why don't they share albums? If I move a photo to an album on the phone, do I have to do it again on the IPad? If I look at photos in the cloud, there are no albums whatsoever, just a long list of undifferentiated photos in chronological order. So the cloud stores photos, but none of the groupings I create? I thought I should use Photos on the iMac to archive photos from the phone. But managing this is a huge problem. You can't even see dates when importing, never mind associations. So I go through 20 or 50 at a time, import them, display photos "in no album", and then I have to assign them each to a NEW album all over again? This is insane. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Feb 2020 11:30 AM PST I noticed that on Snapchat my camera can zoom in excessively far, but on my iPhone 11 it only zooms x5 for photos, and x3 for videos. If my camera can do this for Snapchat, why shouldn't it be able to do the same for the camera app i use the most? I understand that the cameras are for ultrawide and there is a third camera on the 11 pro for ultrazoom, but why shouldn't it be able to use a farther, obviously achievable zoom in the camera app? Safari: Favorites Bar with Emoji for Faux Icons Posted: 22 Feb 2020 02:09 PM PST Always annoyed me that Safari doesn't show favicon on the favorites/bookmark toolbar. I just realized you can add emoji to the favorites name (alt click + rename, paste emoji from something like https://www.iemoji.com) to have an icon for favorites & folders. Result looks like this. Only downside is you have both a favicon & emoji in the sidebar. Personally I don't use the sidebar. Not exactly a hidden feature but hopefully someone finds this useful. ✌️ [link] [comments] |
