[Tip] Random Resprings, no crash log?

    Posted: 08 Jan 2020 05:07 PM PST

I'm afraid the culprit is one of my favorite tweaks, [[BetterCCXI]].

Been troubleshooting for about a week now. Disabling tweaks here and there until it crashes later that day. Then I disabled BetterCCXI and only BetterCCXI.

No crashes. Rock solid. I'm reaching out to Andrew Wiiks, the developer, but I doubt he'll fix it. It's a shame because this tweak really took the control center to the next level (especially when paired with Artsy, by Maxwell D.) :/

It may or may not matter the format you have it set in, so for this to be as helpful as possible, my setup was 4x2 for the Music Module. That is all I had in there from BetterCCXI.

[Discussion] Never jailbroken iPhone 11 gets flagged as “jailbroken” by chase app

    Posted: 08 Jan 2020 06:04 PM PST

I have an iPhone 11 that has never been jailbroken, and when I try to use the chase app, chase says I can't see my statements because the phone is jailbroken.

I owned an iPhone 7 that was jailbroken (every other iPhone I've owned has also been jailbroken) and I upgraded to an iPhone 11. Before upgrading, I used rootfs to remove what I thought was "all" jailbreak data from my phone before backing it up on my computer and transferring to my iPhone 11.

Apparently Chase detects a jailbroken phone.

How can I remove all traces from previous jailbreaks from my never jailbroken iPhone 11?

[Question] Cydia vs. Sileo vs. Zebra?

    Posted: 08 Jan 2020 05:16 PM PST

Hi lads, just got checkra1n going on my I-Phone 7 via Ra1nUSB; I used to be into jailbreaking as a kid and recently came back to find so much has changed.
So i heard some things here and there, etc., but i want to ask
Are Sileo and Zebra different stores/package managers from Cydia?
Is one better than the other?
What should i be using/be best for me?
I've read the sidebar, couldn't find the answers i'm looking for, i just want to make sure i can keep up with the rest of the community as someone who hasn't jailbroken in a decade lol
    Please and Thank You!

[Tip] For those using AltServer on Windows, create a batch file to auto start Apple Mobile Device Service if AltStore has issues communicating with AltServer

    Posted: 08 Jan 2020 03:38 PM PST

That service is needed to detect and communicate with iDevices, and I've noticed that after some time it stops running. So I made a little .bat file that checks if it's running, and if it isn't, start it. Then I set a scheduled task to run the script once a day.

    Script:

@echo off net start | find /i "Apple Mobile Device Service" if "%errorlevel%"=="1" ( net start "Apple Mobile Device Service" )

[Question] Various newbie questions about unc0ver and semi-untethered jailbreaking

    Posted: 08 Jan 2020 08:48 PM PST

    1. Is https://unc0ver.org/ an official website? That site says it supports iOS 13.3, but the sidebar of this sub says the latest release supports up to 12.4.1. And it seems fishy that it coexists alongside https://unc0ver.dev/.
    2. Here it says unc0ver is semi-untethered, and it says semi-untethered means the jailbreak is removed upon rebooting the phone. So that means that to get rid of the jailbreak all I have to do is press and hold the home and power buttons at the same time, right? If so, why does this post list tools for removing jailbreaks? I won't need those for semi-untethered jailbreaks, right?
    3. In the case that unc0ver doesn't support 13.3, what semi-untethered jailbreak options are there? Chimera doesn't support 13.3, and I have Windows, so I can't use checkra1n. Except that that's another thing that confuses me--don't you do all of it from your phone? Is it only the "rejailbreaking" mentioned here that requires a computer? If so, I should be fine using checkra1n if I only want to jailbreak to accomplish one specific thing and then unjailbreak, right?

[Question] Is there a tweak that I can configure to launch an app right after booting up and unlocking the device?

    Posted: 08 Jan 2020 02:35 PM PST

I use 1password, and after rebooting you have to enter the password manually before you can use face ID to unlock and fill passwords, but you have to type the password into the app itself, if you type it into the autofill prompt, it doesn't remember it the next time you have to fill it. I always forget to type it in, so it would be nice if the first thing that happens after unlocking my phone after a reboot is the 1password app launching so I can remember to type it in.

[Discussion][Request][Question] I was wondering if since some people don’t like the notch on the iPhone X+ we could change the phone up a little.

    Posted: 08 Jan 2020 06:42 PM PST

Basically what I was thinking was to make you use the phone upside down. This way the notch is on the bottom and doesn't interfere with anything it would be a cleaner look cause your hand is at the bottom of the screen and Face ID would be at the bottom and be non-intrusive. And now I'm realizing that since the phone would be upside down so would all of the buttons. This could be helpful or weird for some people because the buttons are closer to their hand now but they aren't used to having the buttons being so close.

So pretty much what I am asking is if it is possible to make a tweak where it would make the whole software work right side up while the hardware would be upside down.

Personally I'm mostly ok with the notch, but sometimes it gets in the way it would be cool to just get it out of the way with doing this request. And the control center/notification center could work from bottom where notch is or from the top how it was before. But bottom would probably easier since your hands are there and you wouldn't need reachability. But this is all just a concept I'm thinking of I'm my head. Someone please tell me if this can be a reality. Thank you👍 Edit: Grammar
