    I used to be able to hold a key, tap another key, and have the held key continue repeating. Now tapping another key ends the key repeat. How may I fix this?

    2011 on El Capitain

    I know this is a weird question, but it's actually for a game I like to play. I used to be able to hold down x and have it repeat and then tap the shift key and not release x and it would keep repeating. But now I can hold down x and have it repeat but the second I tap shift (or any other key) it ends the repeat key and I have to press it again. This ruins the workflow I am trying to achieve on my game. Anybody have a clue what may have changed or how to fix this weird issue?

    2015 Mac Book Pro Internet not working after Catalina update!

    I updated my Mac from Mojave yesterday and my internet doesn't work anymore. It says its connected but I can't get anything on it. I followed all the steps from this link: https://macreports.com/mac-catalina-wi-fi-problems-fix/

    I really don't want to bring it into the apple store, any ideas?

    Edit: I also tried connecting to my hotspot to see if the issue was with my router.

    Does anyone use the Catalina TV app on a TV? How does the experience compare to an Apple TV or the old school Front Row app?

    I used to own a 2012 Mini which I gave away, If I had it I would try it on a TV. I am also curious if it works with the remote (Front Row worked with the remote) and how well the interface works at a distance.

    Booting off Target Disk Mode

    Hi all!

    I have a 2019 MacBook Air and a 2019 27" iMac

    I have the official Apple USB-C/TB3 DATA cable.

    My goal: to boot off my MacBook Air's hard drive ON the iMac via TDM

    Startup security = Off

    FileVault = Off

    So I am able to mount the MBA on the iMac and specify it as the startup disk, but upon restart the iMac just boots normally.

    I am not able to see the MBA when holding "Option" on the iMac-only the iMac's HD & Time Machine show

    Here's the oddity: I can do it in the opposite direction, the MacBook Air successfully boots off the iMac's HD when in TDM

    Anyone know why this might be?

    Just upgraded mac mini 2018 from Mojave to Catalina, now the entire screen color is tinted. Any fixes? Already checked monitor settings and accessibility tint is turned off.

    How to force Photos to use MORE resources?

    Online I see many people trying to stop process "photoanalysisd" which appears to scan for faces and other details within a photo library. Well, I would like to devote MORE resources to it so that it can finish. I haven't successfully found a way to do this.

    Right now it seems to barely run (for 5 days now) and it still shows 0 photos scanned. I have a 2018 MBP with 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 with 16 GB ram. Instead of it running for weeks/months to scan 30,000 photos, can it be set to run all 4 cores and just get done over a few nights when I'm not using the system?

    Mac says I don't have permission to read and write to my own computer

    I recently tried to import an ingest setting to Adove Premiere but my system told me to check permisions, so I went to my hard drive and opened did "get info" only to notice "system" had read and write privileges but admin apparently didn't. I'm pretty sure my user profile must be considered admin since when I try to change the admin permisions to read and write a system dialogue says "The operation can't be completed because you don't have the necessary permission."

    How do I get permission back?

    I have a 2013 Mac pro and just upgraded to Catalina.

    missing columns in MacOS Catalina

    Activity monitor shows missing column in Catalina. This issue only occur ever since i update it to Catalina. Previously when I was in Mojave, there weren't any issues on activity monitor. May I know how to fix this? This is annoying because whenever I open activity monitor, the problem occur, as if there isn't any fix solution to solve this permanently. Comments pls.

    MBA 2017 always boots into Do Not Disturb (Presenatation) mode

    Ever since I updated my 2017 13" MacBook Air to Catalina, it boots up with DND mode turned on, stating it's in Presentation Mode. I don't have any external displays, nor any AirPlay displays. Does anyone else have this issue? And, has anyone figured out a fix? Thanks

    Music has weird audio in Catalina

    When I listen to music trough the native music app, the overall sound is just rubbish. It sounds like the input is way to high and it does not sound right. When I listen to the same song on YouTube it sounds okay. When I turn the Pre-amplification ("voorversterking" in my screenshot) down in the equalizer it does sound normal. I have this on my EarPhones and AirPods Pro so it is not my audio output. Does any one know how to fix this? it just occurred out of nowhere.

    Downgrading from Catalina to Mojave and restoring from timemachine created in catalina

    I have a mac that was upgraded to catalina and now there are issues with apps and hardware not working. I created a timemachine backup in catalina and wiped the drive. I installed Mojave and I'd like to know if I can use the timemachine backup to restore everything except the OS. Is that possible? Holding option R brings me to a place where I can wipe and restore again but I don't seem to be able to just get things to come back to how they were before the Catalina update.

    This isn't my computer, it belongs to my roommate who isn't capable of doing anything like this. I did everything after the Catalina update including creating the timemachine backup and restoring to Mojave.

    Can I stream a 4K personal video from my iTunes to an Apple TV?

    I have a 2013 MacBook air. Let's say I download a 4K movie onto my laptop. Can I stream this personal video from my MacBook air to my Apple TV in 4k using iTunes (or similar)? Or does this only work if I buy a movie?

    Can you shrink APFS partitions in Mojave?

    Hi guys.

    Anyone know if it's possible to shrink APFS partitions in Mojave? I'd like to make a bigger Windows partition.

    Disk Utility won't let me, even though there's a lot of free space (161.48 GB is used, but it just says "minimum size is 210.01 GB" and won't allow shrinking).

    But I found this which shows terminal commands for shrinking APFS partitions. That was for High Sierra though, not Mojave.

    I could try the terminal commands but it might screw up my disk?

    Anyone know about this? I could maybe just try it and restore from backups if needed.

    Poor graphics performance in XCode with MacBook Pro 13" 2019

    In the .storyboard window I am getting really choppy performance when moving UI elements around. I have the 1.4GHz Model. Does anyone know what is causing this problems and knows a fix.

    How do you play music from your iPhone through Apple Music in OS Mojave?

    I used to be able to plug my phone in via my usb/lighting cable and from there, there would be a tab where I could play songs exclusively from my phone. Since upgrading to OS Mojave, iTunes is obviously gone and has been replaced with Apple Music. I can no longer find the option to play music from my phone. Am I overlooking something or was this feature removed entirely?
