I never enjoyed using Apple products in the past but I think it's about time I learned more information concerning Apple products. I have several questions concerning Macs. Is there a certain Mac OS I should try with a VM? Is there a recommended list of software to use with Mac OS. Is there any way to use android or windows software with Mac? Are there any good guides' available dealing with the process of reformatting a Mac OS from start to finish and setting it up? Do Apple products have to use certain hardware to be compatible with it or can you use any hardware like any hard drive for example? I guess I am mainly looking for a everything you need to know about Mac guide. Macbook Pro 16 inch Battery Backup/Battery Drain Posted: 29 Dec 2019 07:32 AM PST I just bought the 16 inch model with 2.3GHz 8‑core Intel Core i9, Turbo Boost up to 4.8GHz, with 16MB shared L3 cache configuration. As being advertised by Apple, the battery backup is around 11 hours. Although, that's an ideal battery backup, I have seen many people writing in different blogs that they get around 7-8 hrs in one working day. On the contrary, I get around 4-4.5 hrs (screen on) battery backup. Except this everything else is fine. All i wanted to know was, should I take it to the apple store since I only get 4-4.5 hrs in a day whereas many people claim they get around 6-7 hrs in a day. I even tried to reset the SMC but it wasn't of much help. I am very much concerned as it a costly machine and I bought it around 10 days back. **Last night I charged it to 100% and started a movie that was 3 hrs long. After the first movie ended the battery percentage was around 51%. Then again I played another 3 hrs movie, but after playing 1 hr 30 min the battery percentage was around 5%. The brightness was 9/16 bars and the backlit keyboard brightness was 1/16 bars and was connected to wi-fi all this time. On reaching 5% the screen on time was 4 hrs 34 mins. So is it normal or is my battery backup less? Please suggest me. Also, I will provide some other background info. I have windows installed through bootcamp. So does that affect the battery backup? Although its just 10 days I bought it, before it didn't lose any battery percentage when it was in sleep mode. But now if I put the mac to sleep at night with let's say 76%, the next morning I open it the battery percentage is around 72-71%. This is something that never happened before. My main work revolves around basically web browsing with Chrome with 9-10 tabs and listening to music (spotify) and a few other apps like activity monitor, MS Word, finder, notes ** Also thought of letting you all know that the average % loss is 1% every 3-4 mins. For Example, I just charged it to 100%, and while I was writing this post and listening to song on spotify, my battery fell to 91% in just 40 mins. So is it normal? Also, I have taken all the precautions/tips to save battery but still the battery backup stretches upto 4.5 hours maximum (screen-on) battery backup. Please friends help me out. I'll really appreciate suggestions.
