Splitting iPad screen rather horizontally Posted: 08 Nov 2019 12:39 AM PST Why don't they really consider the feature of splitting the iPad screen horizontally (along side with vertically feature) for two-app in use? I find it horizontally more convenient for some apps especially when it comes to reading, you will have large enough space for the text without the need for zooming-in and -out I think it should be the new feature for the next upgrade [link] [comments]

FIle system on iPadOS and saving word documents? Posted: 08 Nov 2019 09:28 AM PST I've been using my iPad air with keyboard case as a laptop for the past 3 months, and although things are generally going well one thing that annoys me is when I save a word-document (I write documents a lot) to a file folder/index, and continue working on the document on word, sometimes the document on the file index (when I want to access it) is not the most up-to-date file and I will need to go back to the word app to try to fish out the most recent file. I'm just curious as to what might be happening or where the word documents I am typing on are saving to? It's one of the bigger problems for me in otherwise a pretty decent experience replacing my heavy laptop with an iPad. [link] [comments]
iPadOS 13.2.2 allows you to drag apps to Slide Over from Spotlight search Posted: 07 Nov 2019 07:10 PM PST Really an essential feature for multitasking on iPad. Before this update, you needed to have the app on the dock to be included as one of your Slide Over apps. Edit: /u/drinkyourwaterbitch pointed out that this feature has been available since 13.2! Should I buy if I have an iPhone? Posted: 08 Nov 2019 11:32 AM PST I have an iPhone X and I was wondering if it is worth buying an iPad mini. Are there any reasons to own both? [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Nov 2019 11:02 AM PST Hello everybody. If you are a science teacher or a teacher, which app do you use the most ? To prepare your classe, to illustrate your lesson in classe or to help your students during an activity. I want to use more my iPad in class. Thanks. [link] [comments]

Question about video editing on iPad Pro Posted: 08 Nov 2019 01:52 PM PST Is it even possible to say, record gameplay on my PC and edit on an iPad Pro via lumafusion? I was planning to record gameplay, transfer it to an external drive, import it on my iPad, then edit from there. Does anyone have any experience with this, or any advice? I wasn't sure if the storage formatting would cause any issues, but then again I don't have all that much knowledge. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Any apps similar to "Art Academy" on Nintendo consoles? Posted: 08 Nov 2019 01:37 PM PST Looking for the best app with lessons to teach me some drawing techniques and practices, and love the structure of the art academy games. Anything like that on iPad? [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Nov 2019 01:01 PM PST I connected my mouse and it works great exept for that moving it left to right is faster than up and down (depending on the orientation) its quite annoying. Can this be changed? [link] [comments]
How can I maximise the utility of an iPad Pro? Posted: 07 Nov 2019 08:02 PM PST I've been gifted an iPad Pro (most recent gen. without the home button), and I'd like to figure out how I can use it best. I've already looked into getting a Pencil and Keyboard, as I'm planning on using it to replace my Surface Pro. Just one thing to note - I don't own a Macbook, but I was actually looking to sell my other laptop in order to get one (just can't get enough Apple!). In terms of the things I do and would like to do: - University coursework (probably the most important): Studying Maths and Statistics, so some sort of useful note-taking app would be amazing. One of my friends actually had a really nice setup, I need to ask him what he was using. Essentially, he had sub-folders for each of the classes he was taking. Each folder had lecture slides, class questions and additional questions. He would take a screenshot? of each question, and have writing space below to do the working out. Stuff like that seems incredible, so any useful tips relating to studying / organising coursework and other uni-related activities would be awesome. - Reading: Huge fan of reading, obviously you can't go wrong with just using Books. Sometimes though, I like to annotate books to make sure I retain what I'm reading (if it's something more technical for uni). Obviously highlighting and scribbling stuff next to the book seems a bit tedious when it's really long, so if anyone had any suggestions on how to tackle this (I do understand this is a bit over the top - just something I'm a fan of). - Task management: Have some pretty serious leadership roles on some clubs, so I need to both stay on top of work + meetings I have for that while also ensuring everyone else in the club pulls their weight, basically by managing them too. I'm sure it's something I can weave into Google Calendars, but again if there were any better suggestions I'm all ears. - Portfolio Tracker: Quite seriously into investing as well and have quite a decent portfolio now. A good tracker would be great, as the ones by my bank are web-based only. Would be a nice bonus if it came with some way to get latest announcements on market-related activity on specific stocks. - General other productivity related tools: I am a huge fan of things like planners, task managers, essentially anything that will let me plan my life perfectly. Have just been using a combination of Google Calendars and Notion, however Notion has started to become quite a tedious undertaking and I'm looking for something a bit easier to manage. - Fun things: Contrary to how this post may come across, I would also like to unwind a bit from time to time - any suggestions would be great! I understand this is a SUPER lengthy post., so tl;dr: please give me suggestions on how to best handle university coursework, reading and annotating, task management, stock portfolio management, other productivity/fun apps and uses for an iPad Pro. Help!Broke iPad mini 4's home button zif connector Posted: 08 Nov 2019 12:20 PM PST In the process of replacing a cracked digitizer I broke the paper thin zif connector that my home button connects to . It looks like it's part of the circuit board that is on the rear side of the LCD screen. What are my options here for fixing with the least cost. Trying to avoid replacing the whole LCD screen. Was so gentle on the zif connector but it wouldn't budge. Couldn't open it to release the home button ribbon cable. It just snapped and was clearly very brittle from exposure to hot/cold temps and the sun in my airplane. Please advise my options here. Am I able to operate the iPad without a home button? I remember years ago my iPhone had an issue and a tech guy gave me an on screen home button somehow. I can live without it if it means replacing the entire LCD. Appreciate any feedback. Thx. K380 users wth ipad, need some help! Posted: 08 Nov 2019 11:45 AM PST Have some questions with regards to couple of the keys / shortcuts on the keyboard. F5 - all it does is move the cursor up, isn't it supposed to open the multiple apps page? F7- Looks like back button, but it goes to home. Isn't that the same function as F4? The DEL button on the top right, it deletes text... kind of. It deletes words AFTER the cursor (on the right), instead of acting like a backspace which deletes words which are before the cursor (on the left) CAPS - switches between keyboard instead of having caps letters, got to hold shift down for that. Lastly, is there any shortcut function / shortcut to lock screen? Thank you :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Nov 2019 09:26 AM PST I want to know what app do you guys use if u have a presentation in class/work? That syncs to mac and/or windows. Cause I have started not to take my mac with me anymore since iPadOS. Thank you. [link] [comments]
Search bar as an easy-to-access dictionary is no more in iOS13 Posted: 07 Nov 2019 11:45 PM PST After upgrading to iOS 13 the search bar is no more accessible via any app just by swiping down the notification screen and then going left to widgets. Now it is only accessible from home screen and that is too annoying for me because before I was using the search bar as a handy dictionary and for quick internet searches where-ever I am. However, now I have to close the app go to home screen swipe down to have access. I would love them to consider to put it back and make it anywhere accessible [link] [comments]
Apple Watch can be connected with my iPad Pro after updating to iPad OS 13.2.2 Posted: 07 Nov 2019 03:42 PM PST I am coming from 13.1.2 and just now noticed that the iPad recognizes and pairs with my Apple Watch Series 3, something it wasn't doing prior to the update. Any idea what can be done now that this is available? Edit: I have these devices
Just so everyone can test against theirs and see if it's device restricted. The way I know for sure that it didn't connect before is that I was trying to troubleshoot my Apple Pencil immediately before updating from 13.1.2 to 13.2.2. My iPad was saying that it was on the most current version and there were no updates available while Apple Support (over the phone) told me otherwise and suggested I update using a computer and iTunes to update to 13.2. Before updating, I was in Bluetooth and Apple Watch did not show up at all. That was the last thing I did before the iPad restarted to update. Immediately after updating, I went into Settings>Bluetooth and it picked up "Accessory". I was excited thinking it was the Pencil but "Accessory" changed to "Apple Watch". Clicking it allowed the Watch to successfully connect. I haven't found anything else beside this. No special connectivity between the two or anything like that. [link] [comments]
Just ordered the iPad gen 7. Will I regret not getting a pro? Posted: 07 Nov 2019 05:24 PM PST I got a deal for $200 for the new iPad. I'll be using it to watch media, social media, some typing and writing with the Apple Pencil for work. Will it be slow or feel super cheap compared to the new pros? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Nov 2019 08:08 PM PST I recently bought my mom a brand new iPad Pro 10.5 from target, and when it came the button was mushy out of the box. Is it worth going to Apple or am I going to have to return it? I would rather keep it since it's for her trip and if we have to exchange it she might not be able to use it on the trip. Could Apple to anything in a timely manner? Thanks folks [link] [comments] |
