New iOS update notification bug Posted: 23 Nov 2019 05:47 AM PST I'm noticing that I don't receive notifications while my screen is locked most of the times. And no, I don't have do not disturb mode on. It's an annoying bug because when I unlock my phone, I receive a ton of notifications. I'm using an iPhone 8 running iOS 13.2.3 [link] [comments]

Can anyone with a 6S and on iOS 13.2.2 or any of the iOS 13.3 betas confirm if audio sharing works? Posted: 22 Nov 2019 07:50 PM PST The 6s, SE, and 7 were originally not supported, but I've heard two reports of audio sharing working on an SE on iOS 13.3 beta and 7 on 13.2.2 respectively. I don't have any AirPods or any of the other supported headphones to test this out with at the moment. I suspect Apple may have added support for these three devices with the latest update. I's not the first time they've done anything like this. They added panorama to the first iPad Air with iOS 8.0.2, added VIP mail and shared photo streams to the 3GS on iOS 6 beta 3, added Siri for iPad 3 on iOS 6, etc. [link] [comments]
Best media player on ios for learning a language? Posted: 23 Nov 2019 12:58 AM PST I am learning Spanish on my ipad through Language Transfer - great resource - but using VLC it doesn't remember from day to day which the last track I played was and when I pause and then play it sometimes it has skipped on a little way. Any recommendations for something more appropriate please? [link] [comments]
Heads-up: iPhone stops charging during iOS update, brick risk? Posted: 23 Nov 2019 02:57 AM PST So this is interesting. My 11 Max Pro was at 20% battery last night and I saw there was an update pending, 13.2.3 I think. I plugged it into power, kicked off the update manually, went to bed. As I woke up this morning I expected to see an updated phone with a full battery, but it was still at 20%. From the battery graph we see that it started charging when it was plugged in, but stopped again a short while after, presumably during or just after the update process. (The second time it started charging was this morning, when I disconnected and reversed the plug, thinking I hadn't reconnected it properly lsat night) The interesting bit, for me at least, is that it stopped charging around the same time it was updating iOS, which sounds just a little risky to me. For a start, I would have thought that 20% would be considered too low to begin a software update, regardless of whether or not external power is available. What if there is no threshold? What if I start the update with 3% battery and a reliance on external power, but it decides to stop charging halfway through and I'm left with a very shiny brick? OK, I exaggerate, but you know what I mean. This is unexpected and potentially harmful behaviour. Bonus question: what the hell is Garmin Connect doing in the background for 9 hours 35 minutes? Edit: image here. [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Nov 2019 06:34 AM PST I'm using a Pro Max 256gb unlocked on Verizon. Purchased at local Apple store and at day one, phone was running smooth for me. Problems came with iOS 13.2 (I wanted the new camera feature) But with the last two updates, my iPhone has been getting worst progressively. 13.2.2 was supposed to fix the problems the previous update gave me but it did not. My apps keep resetting themselves when running in the background. 13.2.3 now has killed my battery (I was still good on 13.2.2) also made safari jerky when scrolling, voice recognition is sometimes way off, and LTE and WiFi seem to loose connection very often. Anyone else having problems? If not I will reset and re install, but if you having problems like me I will wait for an update. Thank you. [link] [comments]

My alarm decides whether to make noise or not! Posted: 22 Nov 2019 05:15 PM PST Why does it do this!? I'm considering buying an analogue alarm clock just for safety! Just this morning:
And the other day:
I have experienced this every once in a while over the years and over multiple iPhones, all in similar situations (even before Bedtime). Is there something going on that I don't understand? When I set an alarm on my phone... I NEED it to go off, or to continue the snooze pattern, until I tell it to stop, or it runs out of batteries!! [link] [comments]
Taptic Engine - why isn’t it used mor(s)e? Posted: 22 Nov 2019 08:25 PM PST When the Taptic Engine was announced it was hailed as a great advancement. However, it seems like only native apps take advantage of it. Why don't more developers use it? I've been wanting a Morse vibration alert app/notification ever since it came out but I have yet to find a solution. Yes, you can make your own custom vibration patterns but there's a severe lack of control. I would love to have a ••• - - ••• (sms) or • - - •- •• •-•• (email) vibration alert. Does anyone know a way of making custom vibrations other than the "Tap to create vibration pattern" in preferences > sounds? [link] [comments]
