Move Goal: Weekdays vs Weekends Posted: 24 Oct 2019 02:09 AM PDT The way my week goes I end up doing way more active calories during the weekdays then weekends - 1500+ in weekdays and around 400 on weekends. However my move goal is set for 1500 because it seems to make sense to me. How do you lot deal with such dramatic contrasts between the weekdays and weekend? Do you set your move goal to be the weekday target (like), the bare minimum you would do or somewhere in the middle? As you can imagine I have not gotten any move streak awards due to this and have only gotten the 200% award a handful of time when my target was a bit lower. I cannot even dream of achieving 300% or 400% without doing a triathlon or going mountaineering. [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Oct 2019 07:19 AM PDT I have a stainless Apple Watch 5 on the way and I want to find a nice heavy stainless band to go with it. Something like you'd find on an Omega. Looking on Amazon everything is $15 and looks cheap. Anybody know where I can find a stainless band that befits this watch? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Do you wear your watch “upside down?” If so, why? Posted: 23 Oct 2019 11:28 PM PDT Wondering what percentage of users wear their Apple Watch with the Digital Crown on the bottom left side rather than the standard right side configuration. If you do, why? Did you always wear your AW this way? And lastly, how often do you feel this gets noticed? [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Oct 2019 07:16 AM PDT I have the Series 5, and love the AOD feature. One of the applications I was hoping to use was to somehow get a stopwatch going in AOD mode. Only watchfaces and the workout app currently support AOD. Several watchfaces allow a stopwatch complication, though. The modular face let's you set the stopwatch as a complication in the middle area with the most space. So, I have enabled that face for this purpose/experiment. When I start the stopwatch, of course I do so in the actual stopwatch app. If I leave it open, then after the screen dims I just get the digital time in the top right corner, and everything else blurred. Not what I want, but I understand the stopwatch app isn't supported in AID mode at this time. When I close the stopwatch app (with stopwatch still running in the background), and return to the modular face with the stopwatch complication in the middle, here is what happens. First, while the face is lit up, the stopwatch complication is running, down to the second, hundredth of a second, etc. Second, when the screen dims, the modular face goes into dim/AOD mode, including the stopwatch (but reduced down to rounded to the minute - no seconds, etc.). YAY - THIS IS WHAT I WANT!! I do multi-hour lectures, and want a quick stopwatch that is glanceable, without worrying about doing the wrist gymnastics in the middle of my lecture. Rounded to the minute is good enough for this purpose. But....... Third..... after a few seconds, for some reason, the stopwatch app seemingly reopens itself, meaning that the dim/AOD mode then reverts to just showing the digital time in the top right corner. No more rounded-minute stopwatch in my dimmed modular watchface complication. With this current behavior, it is not nearly as useful for me in my desired use case. Question - why, after I have closed the stopwatch app and reverted to the watchface, is the Apple Watch automatically reopening the stopwatch app? Is this a bug? Or is there some expected behavior here I can manipulate around? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Oct 2019 12:26 AM PDT With the discount on the Apple Watch series 3, I'm strongly considering buying it for both me and my wife. Though we work in healthcare and due to infection control, we can't use watches on out wrist during the work day. Would the watch register steps and such while being in my pocket? Or how do other nurses do it with the watch? Recommendations? Thx for any help :-) [link] [comments]

Can the S5 be worn higher up the wrist (closer to the elbow)? Posted: 24 Oct 2019 07:59 AM PDT And still get accurate read outs for health metrics? I do Olympic lifting for which I wear wrist wraps to protect my old man wrists. The wraps are about 2.5 inches wide. Is there any historical info on the watch being worn higher up the wrist? Thank you! [link] [comments]
iWatch Construction Sites / Blue Collar Use Cases? Posted: 24 Oct 2019 07:27 AM PDT Anyone here work in either facilities management, on construction sites or even in blue collar functional positions that have shown benefits to having technology such as iWatches to assist them in their career field? I am hoping to identify a good set of use cases that will get me past securities fear of having iWatches on construction sites — I.e. letting the business value drive the need. [link] [comments]
Is it ok to charge Apple Watch with iPads 10w (5V 2A) charger ? Posted: 24 Oct 2019 07:24 AM PDT Bought series 3 few weeks ago. Is it ok to charge Apple Watch with iPads 10w (5V 2A) charger I have a feeling that it charges faster. But that could be placebo effect. [link] [comments]
HELP! Has anyone succeeded to transfer continuous heart rate data from their watch to their PC? Posted: 24 Oct 2019 01:24 AM PDT So I have the latest Apple Watch series 5. I am a streamer and I wanted to show my pulse when I stream on Xsplit. I have googled about how to do this but no luck with finding any good answer. Mostly that it should be possible, but no answer on how. Is there anyone smarter than me out there that has a solution for this? If I could just visualize live heart rate from my watch to the pc, I could take it from there. [link] [comments]
Accuweather always says 54 degrees Posted: 24 Oct 2019 07:20 AM PDT I've been having trouble with Accuweather since getting it a few weeks ago. I have a series 1 Apple Watch, running 5.3.2 and an iPhone X running 13.1.2. The Accuweather complication doesn't even show up on my watch most of the time. When it does, it ALWAYS shows 54 degrees. As it's rarely 54 degrees out, it's not very useful. When I tap on the complication, I see my location (Albuquerque) and a bunch of dashes. It works great on my iPhone (very accurate), so I'd love to have it work on my watch. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
[Help] Bought watch from eBay doesn’t pair. Will Apple downgrade it for me? Posted: 24 Oct 2019 07:15 AM PDT So I bought a watch on eBay not knowing the watchOS mattered (idk why I didn't think about that). I'm sure it's a common mistake though.. Anyway, I have an iPhone XS Max jailbroken on iOS 12.0.2. I really don't want to lose the jailbreak. I've read that Apple would do downgrades if people had updated their watch to an incompatible version of their phone. However, all of the cases I read only pertained to watchOS 6 beta, not GM. So my question is, will Apple downgrade my watch so that I can use it with my phone or am I wasting my time trying? Thanks in advance and sorry if this gets posted a lot. [link] [comments]
Apple hypocrisy: playing music out of Apple Watch speaker blocked, except when it’s not Posted: 23 Oct 2019 06:33 PM PDT Does anyone else find it strange that Apple won't allow the music, podcasts, or radio apps on Apple Watch to play out of the watch's speaker? Even on the louder watches, Series 4 and 5. Yet, the Apple-owned Shazam app will play music out of the speaker. I realize this was the case before Apple bought them, but I can't help thinking how odd it is that Apple went through the effort to prevent you from playing music out of the watch's speaker with their own built-in apps, but another Apple music-related app continues to allow it. Personally, I don't understand why it's blocked anywhere. Sure, the quality isn't great, but I never expected it to be. Sometimes I just want to quickly hear a portion of a song or play it out loud for someone. Pulling out my phone or AirPods defeats the convenience of the watch when you just want to play 10 seconds of something. [link] [comments]

Why did they ditch Woven Nylon band? Posted: 24 Oct 2019 06:45 AM PDT Hi! I'm looking for Woven Nylon bands, then I saw they ditched it at apple.com, but I think they replaced it with sport loops maybe. Will they bring it back later or sooner? Or its really discontinued? 🙁 [link] [comments] |
