    I have a seller willing to do 130 on a 5th gen 32gb 4k Apple TV but apparently the next gen is supposed to launch sometime in 2019? Is there any truth to that or is it just speculation?

    Is there a Lord of the Rings Teaser in the original AppleTV+ trailer?

    Right at the end of the original trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkJLxUf45Kc) you here a voice singing before the candle gets blown out. Since the start the melody was familiar to me.

    It is exactly the same as "The Last March of the Ents" from the Lord of the Rings. You can find it on Apple Music from Howard Shore at 45 seconds.

    Is this a teaser for something?

    Universal Remote

    Is there a remote that can pair with the AppleTV where the numeric keys are accepted? I use a TV service provider app and it would be great to change channels by pressing the numbers.

    Help - I lost my remote a while ago and have just been using my phone to control it. Reset my Apple TV to try fix a bug and now I can't connect my phone to it again

    If Apple announces a new Apple TV at their traditional October event, how long after the announcement will the Apple TV likely be available?

    I know sometimes Apple announces a product and it gets released weeks or sometimes months later. For some products Apple releases them right away (available now or a few days after the announcement).

    Is the Apple TV usually released right after the announcement or there may be a wait?

    Instead I'm getting a "Watch Now" list. I'd really like to see my normal "Up Next" list. Hopefully it's just a glitch they're working on and I haven't lost my list.

    Siri remote volume control of old receiver with non working IR remote

    I have an old NAD receiver and my Siri remote was previously working to control the volume. The NAD receivers remote does not work. I recently had to reset my Apple TV because of some airplay issues, but now I've lost my volume control.

    I'm pretty sure the NAD remote wasn't working during the initial setup, because I remember setting up the volume control by searching for NAD in the Apple TV settings... I thought they had the IR codes saved or something. But now I can't find a way to set it up.

    Is there any other way? Did that option use to be there or am I just remembering wrong? Do I have to go find an old working NAD remote somewhere?

    No iTunes Store Account

    First time user here

    I just bought an AppleTV 4K (my first apple device ever) and I'm already utterly frustrated. During setup it asked me to create an appleid on appleid.apple.com which i did. Now, I'm trying to install an app and it tells me that i don't have an iTunes Store account: "Before using this Apple ID on your Apple TV, you must first login into an iOS device, Mac, or PC to create an iTunes Store Account".

    So I went to apple.com/iTunes/ and tried to log in. Looks good, it even shows my apple tv under account. I then, again, tried to download the app from the app store on my apple tv - same error message.

    Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm super frustrated and I'm already considering sending it back.

    ��Idea: NFC tags

    My father-in-law really struggles with the AppleTV. If it wasn't so frustrating for the man, it would be a little funny. Lots and lots of curse words.

    The remote is small and difficult to deal with. I've setup with other remotes but that only solves part of the problem. He not only struggles selecting an icon but knowing which to use blows his mind.

    The best solution so far is creating a list of commands for him on a piece of paper to speak into the remote. - Watch TV Land - Watch History Channel

    Ok, ok, on to the idea. I would love to be able to give him a set of NFC cards that he can just tap on a HomePod that would launch the channel associated with it. He doesn't hear or speak well, so this would be amazing.

    I guess it could just as easily be used for other stuff too like turning on/off lights, etc.

    Spotify bug

    Is anyone else experiencing that when you choose an album for example and the screen just goes blank, still keeps the color of the background and it isn't frozen since I can press "menu" and go back to the home screen of the app. It doesn't always happen but it's quite frequent. I also have the problem with the app logging me out every now and then but I've seen that they're working on that. Haven't seen anything about my problem though. I realize it's still early days for Spotify on Apple TV but just wondering if anyone else is experiencing it. My Apple TV is 4k 32 GB.

    [need help]Apple TV no longer turns off samsung tv and soundbar

    So i have had an apple tv for a couple years now, and never had an issue with it. When i out it to sleep, it turned off my samsung tv and samsung soundbar. Even with the latest update, i had no problem.

    However yesterday, i turned it off, and my tv and soundbar remained on. Hmm, odd.

    I kept trying to have it turn off, but it doesn't. It will turn them on, but not off. I have tried everything i can find.

    When the apple tv shuts down, my tv says disconnecting anynet+ device, then goes to static/snow. I think this is a clue, as before it never did this, it just shut it all down. The only othey "anynet+" device i have is a samsung blu ray player which i rarely use.

    Another clue, is that it seems my samsung remote can now operate the apple tv. I don't believe this ever happened before, but i cannot be sure.

    I am not sure if this is a setting on the tv or the apple tv. I have gone through both menus without success. Any help would be appreciated.

    Edit: after much clicking, settings messing with tv and apple tv, i think i stumbled upon the solution somehow. Very weird.
