    When to replace battery on 2011 MBA 11"

    I have a Mid 2011 MBA 11" that we purchased new. Works perfectly for my needs. Battery only lasts roughly 1.5 hrs. Interestingly Coconut Battery shows the battery to seemingly be in better condition than I would expect for an almost 8 year old battery. Would a new battery (say from OWC) get me improved run time? Not looking for a miracle, but 3+ would be nice.

    Gaming Keyboard not usable during boot sequence?

    I recently discovered that I can not use any startup options (like holding the option/alt key down to get to the startup manager) if I use a backlit keyboard. I tested it with 3 backlit keyboards and 3 non-backlit keyboards - all USB - and it only works with the non backlit keyboards. This seems odd, is there an extra delay with backlit keyboards at the boot phase on a Mac? Any way around it apart from using a non-backlit keyboard (I use gaming keyboards generally which are all backlit as best I can tell).

    Wifi keeps disconnecting on my Macbook Pro 13” 2017 non touch bar version.

    Recently I have a wifi issue on my Macbook Pro 13" 2017 non touch bar. The wifi keeps disconnecting, but still show the wifi icon on the status bar. I have to turn off wifi and turn on again to fix it. I tried to perform clean install to the latest macOS Catalina, but the issue still happens. I don't know if this is a software bug or hardware problem. Does anyone have the same issue and how to fix it? Thank you so much.

    My safari tabs are not syncing.

    I have a 2011 MacBook Pro and a iPhone pro. Before pro I had a Max, at some point with the max my safari tabs stopped syncing. I have signed in and out of my account.

    I manage a small hotel and the office uses / shares a macbook air at work. Ive noticed someone has been opening my labeled folder (I have some payroll and guest files I prefer to be private in there) . I just went through the steps to encrypt it but noticed that if some A-hole (that A-hole was just me and thankfully I hadnt deleted the original folder) decides to, or accidentally drags my .dmg image to the trash (and empties the trash) then all of my info is gone?! Am I able to lock the image on the desktop somehow so it cant be tossed? Thanks for any advice

    MacBook unusable after thermal paste replacement...will not boot.

    Hello Everyone,

    I replaced the thermal paste on my 13'' Macbook Pro, mid-2012 the other night and it is now unusable.

    Summary of issue:

    • Upon restarting, my main admin account is now gone, I have tried repairing the drive via recovery mode and internet recovery with no improvement (command + R, command + control + R).
    • Logging into the guest account has resulted in an infinite spinning wheel.
    • I tried to boot to Single User mode (command + S) to create a new profile, after about a minute the script overlaps with a grey screen and freezes, never allowing me to input commands.
    • I reinstalled the original HDD (had upgraded to an SSD last year) and it will turn on and run but remarkably slow.
      • Created a copy of this drive onto a separate SSD and once installed, will bring me to the login page. With the password entered it will infinitely spin its wheel.
    • SO that makes 3 drives that the machine is not running on.
    • Upon disassembly/reassembly, I was careful not to break or harm any areas. I retraced my steps and am confident nothing went awry.

    The computer was running great prior to this (minus running very hot) and am out of ideas.

    Any insight would be extremely appreciated.

    laptop not in my possession for 20 minutes, any risk ?

    basically, i suspect a person might have copied some of my files from my laptop.

    or added some sort of spy app.

    i have a password on my laptop, but i also have loads of private pics, screenshots, word documents etc.

    is there any way to tell if that person used his usb on my laptop or something? thank you for helping...

    What mouse do you guys recommend?

    Hey, I've been a kind of new owner of the MacBook Pro 13 (2019). I really like it but to optimize my workflow, I should really get a mouse. Doing work with the trackpad should not be the optimal way of doing so.

    So since the MB doesn't come with a regular USB slot (I think with "regular" I mean the USB-A (?)), I think that a wireless mouse that connects with Bluetooth or so would be a great thing. I've heard the Apple Magic Mouse does this. But it's insanely expensive. If it's really worth it, I'll go with it but since this is my first MacBook, I'd like to collect your opinions! Thanks in advance :-)

    Macbook Pro 13" - 2018 vs 2019?

    Hi all,

    Just as the title says: what is the difference between 2018 and 2019 macbook pro 13"? For about the same price I can go for 2018 with 2.3Ghz CPU or 2019 1.4Ghz version. Is there any other differences rather than clock speed? What should I do? I am a web developer and work on windows mainly (both at work and at home). I need a laptop for some hobby development at home and for meetups, etc.

    Does anyone know anything about this issue? When did occurs the laptop gets very hot and start slow down and freeze. I have to restart or manually force the fan speed.
