So probably about 3 years ago, I unknowingly misplaced my iPhone at a friends house. When I lost the device, I had placed it in lost mode but never really had any hope of finding it again (iPhone 7 plus if that makes a difference). Just recently thought, my friend found my phone wedged between his couch and some shelves. Unfortunately however, the phone is still in lost mode and I can't seem to recover it. The Apple ID associated with the phone was one that I had created ages ago, and like most young people learned to do, it consisted of a random mix of words and numbers so as to "protect my identity on the web". Of course, I wrote the ID/email and password on a sticky note but I can't seem to find it anymore. And dumb as I am, I never thought I'd need to remember it. I called support about 2 weeks ago and after a couple hours of attempted Apple ID recover, she told me that as a last resort, I could submit proof of purchase to the Apple Security Team, and they'd be able to unlock it for me. So that's what I did, but I got an email back from them saying that they won't be able to do anything because the phone is in lost mode. (The tech I called today apparently said that their engineers can't unlink the ID in lost mode, as doing so would somehow reapply lost mode to the device). She gave me a couple options: try and recover the account, but she said that I'd have to do more digging on my side, which I have already done or, she said that I could take it into an Apple store (with ID and POP) and apparently their managers have some sort of machine that might be able to remove the lock for me? If any one (Apple store employees, managers, anyone really) has ever been in a similar situation, or has ever dealt with this situation, and can advise me as to what I should/can do I'd be forever grateful. Thanks a ton :) TLDR: Yes I am the original owner of an iPhone in lost mode, Yes I've forgotten the Apple ID/email associated with the phone, Yes I have a scanned copy of the original proof of purchase, and yes, I would like to get this lock removed if at all possible. But here I am, stuck in a boot loop where it just tells me "macOS could not be installed on your computer" "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD to install. | Macbook Pro is infected but can't find the adware file to remove it Posted: 07 Oct 2019 07:25 PM PDT I don't know how, but i managed to get infected by some sort of web redirection adware called lauberiyetechnology, it shows me a lot of url ads when i'm browsing, and it's just so damn annoying, it takes like half of the page, sometimes i click it by accident, i don't think this is really dangerous but yeah i searched for a few hours and i couldn't found a app which could delete this, i've tried combo cleaner, malware bytes and a random antivirus on the app store. If anybody has any solution i would be really grateful. PS: I forgot to mention that only Google Chrome which is the browser i use is affected by this adware. [link] [comments]  |

The monitor says that something is connected to HDMI, so it reads the cable but yet my MacBook Pro 2017 doesn't recognize the monitor. Any tips? The monitor is CRUCIAL to my everyday work. I've been using an adblocker with my iPad with no problem tho I recently tried to use the same thing on my iphone and it doesn't work (from setting> safari> content blocker> I turn it on and wait 10-20s). You can see that the finder top bar is miscolored when dragged back to the primary screen. What I've tried: Change the wires. -> It's not the cable. Try another computer. The colors display correctly. -> It's not the screen. Play around with display color settings options but something will always be off about the colors. | I can't software update my iPhone Posted: 07 Oct 2019 01:30 PM PDT A new software update for iPhone has just come up, and the update should fix a bug with iPhone X that disables touch screen functions. I therefor cannot use my phone, nor update it to actually fix the phone. I do not have update automatically turned on. How can I force software update my phone? I have a MacBook, but in order to connect the two devices I need to unlock my phone, which I cannot because I need to swipe up. I have tried draining the battery on my phone and rebooting it, but it doesn't work. It worked periodically when it first started happening (2 days ago) but now touch just completely disabled.
