| Posted: 03 Sep 2019 08:50 PM PDT I apologize in advance if we are not allowed to post tech help questions.... So my wife and I have a backup iPhone brand new still in the box. But lately her phone is acting up, she can't hear calls and they can't hear her. And recently she's unable to receive text and her text aren't going through.... So we get this new backup phone out and it will not power on. We've left it on the charger all day, we've hooked it up to iTunes and nothing. It's acting like the battery is no good. And again, we've never even used it. I did turn the phone on when we first got it to see if it works and it turn on fine. I then powered it off, put it back in the box and shoved it in a drawer where it's been for over a year. Now it won't power on. Has the battery gone bad for sitting to long? We took it to AT&T and of course they said they can't do anything because they're not licensed. We then took it to Best Buy and they said they can only run a diagnostic check on it...for $40 😒. Does anyone have any advice? Has this happened to others? [link] [comments]  |
| iPhone 8 very limited internet Posted: 03 Sep 2019 07:39 PM PDT I recently got an iPhone 8 and it will connect to only private WiFi networks and work with internet. And the only apps that work on LTE (when I have full coverage and with my generous data plan) are literally Safari and Reddit. I get notifications for apps like Mail and Instagram but they won't load anything when opened. Anything else on LTE doesn't work at all and it will connect to public WiFi's in settings but won't display the WiFi icon on the top left nor provide internet. I've tried all the basic solutions and know the networks I'm attempting to connect to work and are safe. In addition my iPhone 6 had near perfect coverage on the same network LTE in the same areas where it now takes almost a minute to load a page in browser. [link] [comments]  |
| the strangest thing is happening with my music app on my iphone 8 plus Posted: 03 Sep 2019 07:18 PM PDT certain albums of songs are truncated, all the same amount. for instance, one album truncates all songs at 1:51. on another, all songs are 14 seconds long. about 5 or 6 albums like this exist on my phone this way. the full tracks are in my itunes and they play through fine. i've deleted them from my phone, and put them back. i've also deleted, re-downloaded, and synced. i've also re-ripped certain albums completely, or downloaded them from entirely different sources, converted them to AAC or MP3 or other formats, and synced. they *STILL* are being truncated! the same exact way! so how in the world, with different files, but with similar titles (album name, track name, etc.) would they end up truncated in the same exact way? its as if its nothing more than the file names that are telling my phone to truncate them. why does my phone want to truncate all the tracks on Chimp Spanner - All Roads Lead Here, no matter where it's downloaded from or what computer I rip the CD with? there's nothing i can do to get any copies, any rips, of any file format, of these albums on my phone without it deciding to truncate the tracks. what gives?! thanks for your help. Bought an used iPhone 7 Plus and found out later that day that the call volume is very low (it is really hard to hear what the person on the other end is saying) and also that my voice sounds really echoing, like I'm speaking from a tube. I wanted to check here from you guys if this is a common problem and there is a solution since this is my first iPhone ever. Would like to get this fixed instead of returning the phone to the seller. I see many files here I want to delete, and also many that I am positive I have saved as a photo. If I clear out all attachments, will it also clear out the corresponding photos? If my icloud back up (66.5 gigabytes) is bigger than my iphone storage (64 gigabytes) and I reset my iphone and try to restore the backup from icloud, what will happen? will I be able to restore all of my data successfully?
