Why does my watch charge so slow Posted: 30 Sep 2019 04:50 AM PDT So I've owned an Apple Watch series 4 for about 9 months and it's worked just fine when it was one WatchOS 5 but immediately after I updated it to WatchOS 6 it charges ridiculously slow it now takes about 4 hours for 35% of charge. Why does this happen? And is there a way to remedy it? [link] [comments]
Watch not registering touch input sometimes Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:01 AM PDT Hello, I have this odd issue. Ever since updating to WatchOS6 with my S4 I have had this issue. I have theater mode enabled at all times and when I tap my screen, the watch face shows, and the issue is, that maybe 1 in 5 instances the watch doesnt register my tapping and I have to tap 6-7 times and then in "wakes up". On WatchOS5 I never had this problem and want to ask if anyone else is experiencing this? Watch has been restarted, re-paired and so far no luck. Thanks for reading [link] [comments]

Apple Watch Series 4 to 5 -- screen doesn't seem as bright? Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:16 AM PDT I've upgraded from a Series 4 to 5 following my carrier getting in touch to offer a deal, which I was happy to go with as a friend was looking for a first time Apple Watch so I sold my S4 to him for a good price. Anyone on an S5 think the screen seems a little dim even on full brightness? P.S. anyone thinking of upgrading from an S4 to and S5 needn't bother; the always-on screen doesn't feel necessary, and if anything, I swear its better at turning on the full screen when you want to glance at it without the need to make the 'wake up' motion, so almost makes the feature redundant. Otherwise the watch looks and feels identical, which of course is not a surprise. [link] [comments]
ADHD users - what complications do you use to manage yourself? Posted: 29 Sep 2019 09:24 PM PDT I'm pretty inattentive and always set myself calendar appointments to remind myself to do things. Firstly, I'm aware that setting appointments instead of using reminders is really not the right way to manage To Dos. But it's just what I've been doing for so long, I haven't managed a better method of combining To Dos with actual appointments yet. Secondly, I wonder what watch faces you use and which apps and complications you use. I'm drawn to the less busy faces. I'm just wondering what you put where, and how much info you have on the face, and how that interacts with apps you use - like calendar vs other cal apps, to do lists, reminders, etc etc. I currently use fantastical on my phone and Todoist on my Mac - but I'm not married to them by any means, and I think my methodology needs help! Posted: 29 Sep 2019 08:52 AM PDT Anyone else notice from time to time that when using Tap to Wake, there's quite a noticeable delay of several seconds. It always wakes, but sometimes, it feels like 2-5 seconds, then bam, the screen lights up. It's quite frustrating with such an expensive device that there's this kind of noticeable lag going on. I can't seem to find a way to resolve it. Another friend of mine has the same issue, has tried resetting, unpairing after a reset and re pairing. Using no extra apps, etc. Nothing seems to help. Using the latest WatchOS as well. Edit: I should add I'm using the S4 non-LTE on watchOS 6 [link] [comments]
Why is my resting heart rate so high.... Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:51 AM PDT So, I'm just now enabling the exercise stuff on my Watch and for heart rate, I've been calm and not moving barely and it started at 80-something and jumped to 121, then 90-something, back to 100, and kinda keeps doing that. Is it calibrating or how's that work? [link] [comments]
Change in Timer behavior with WatchOS 6 Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:46 AM PDT I use my timer app all the time, coffee brewing, cooking, etc. Previously, it used to show the countdown the entire time, and would come up when I wake the watch display. After WatchOS6, once the watch goes to sleep, the timer goes away for good. To see how much time is left, I have to either "Hey SIri" or find Timer in the Apps list, both are not ideal. Has anyone found a way to revert this behavior? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Sep 2019 05:27 PM PDT Ok so I have always used my watch as a means to control what music plays on my phone. I have a JBL speaker connected via bluetooth to the phone... however the watch seems to want to be in charge of playing my music and it keeps asking me to connect to a bluetooth device. Problem is I can never tell what music source I am browsing on the watch! Apple Music? My library on the phone? My library in the cloud? My phone's library mirrored to my watch? Music stored on the watch itself? There has to be an easier way as this is causing me a lot of frustration. Maybe this is why Apple took away the ability to play music from your phone a few versions back? Any suggestions or ways to simplify this complicated mess? [link] [comments]
How do yall deal with scratches on your apple watch? Posted: 30 Sep 2019 08:19 AM PDT I was getting onto a crowded train, took my backpack off and hit my watch against a steel pole :( Got a few minor scratches that you can feel, but can only see under certain lighting. Its really bothering me, i only had the watch for 2 months. ugh ocd problems. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:57 AM PDT For those of you that got AW S5 tracking straight out of Suzhou, China... how long did it take to arrive at your doorstep? UPS is currently quoting Tuesday the 8th, but I'm hanging on to hope that it'll get here by Friday. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:29 AM PDT I've changed my Apple ID to a different ID, but am still getting pings every SECOND asking for my Apple ID password for the old account. In settings it says I am on the new Apple ID. I've looked online for help but couldn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]
“Connecting your Apple Watch this may take a moment” Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:26 AM PDT Hi guys I'm currently having this problem where the Apple Watch app when trying to set up my Apple Watch takes extremely long to come off of that loading page. I've literally had it doing for 8hours one time. Any suggestions? And my phones currently on IOS 13 [link] [comments]
Is it possible to use Apple Watch without an iPhone for a little bit? Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:25 AM PDT I'm selling my current iPhone about a week before my new iPhone arrives. I have an Apple Watch and currently have no spare iPhone to bridge the gap between old and new. I will have to use an old Android device. Now I know that I can't connect the AW to an Android device and have functionality that way, but is there any way to have my Apple Watch still be active to record activity and sync up when the new iPhone arrives? Posted: 30 Sep 2019 07:17 AM PDT I'm trying to add my Apple Card to my watch (S4 on WatchOS6). The wallet & Apple Pay category is completely gone from my watch app on my phone (XS Max, 13.1.1). I can type it in the search bar, but when I click on one of the options that comes up (Add Card) it doesn't do anything. I'm guessing it's just a bug but is it happening to anyone else?? This release has been so damn buggy, it's driving me insane. I've already reset my phone. There's no way to add a card through the watch itself. [link] [comments]
This may be the closest we've gotten to answers in regards to the battery life issues Posted: 29 Sep 2019 07:36 PM PDT As an Apple Watch Series 4 owner, I never really had any problems with battery life issues until one of the watchOS 5 updates got pushed out. Since then it's been bad, and WatchOS 6 hasn't helped at all. Judging by this article, it is indeed software related, but it's only affecting LTE watch owners? Once again, I didn't have a battery life issue for a good amount of time after getting a LTE watch, so this is especially interesting and I never really thought to ask fellow redditors what version they have. How many of you that have battery issues are on a LTE watch? https://www.imore.com/some-cellular-apple-watch-series-owners-are-complaining-battery-life-issues [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Sep 2019 06:53 AM PDT can anyone with a S5 (cellular+gps) describe it's battery life with AOD? mkbhd said that it only gives about 10-12 hours with a full charge. i'm planning on getting the s5 but this battery issue is making me a bit skeptical. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Sep 2019 06:44 AM PDT First, thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond and help myself and others. If you can add what AW you came from that would help as well. The screen.. How does brightness compare? I personally turn the brightness of my AW4 all the way down and find it still very bright. An issue with the AW4 and previous AWs is the light bleed issue. It is one of the reasons I would love to buy a 'nicer' AW but can't bring myself to spend that much and get a display with it. I have returned an AW that had it REALLY bad. My current SSAW4 has it just a tad and it still bugs me. Over $700 for a screen that is brighter in one areas than the other. I noticed that watchOS 6 works to 'hide' this issue with more dark scrolling screens (apps) and less scrolling screens with grey areas. From what I have read, the AW4 and AW5 have the same display 'type'. Battery life. Is anyone out there getting 2 days with the AW5? The 18 hours stated by Apple makes me wonder if that wasn't prep for the AW5. These watches have been in the product plan for years. They likely knew the AW4 could go 48 hours with a sub-hour workout but stated 18. Now the AW5 EXCEEDS expectations/specs.. but seems to be considerably less than the AW4. Just wondering if there is any reason to upgrade to the 5 from the 4, especially since it's only $50 for me right now.. but I do NOT want to go to less battery life. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Sep 2019 06:43 AM PDT Has anyone has an issue where their data doesn't recover after an unpair/repair? I was initially missing awards from my phone after updating to iOS 13, but they were on my watch. Support attempted to help but I haven't heard back from them since Thursday. I restored my phone yesterday, and that didn't do anything helpful except wipe out 5 hours of stand data; and still no awards. This morning, I unpaired the watch and then paired it again, and not only did it not fix the stuff from yesterday, but it also cleared out my exercise and move data from this morning. Anyone have any ideas that can get me back where I need to be? [link] [comments] |
