Apple replaced my AW4 (aluminum) due to minor cracks (or Crazing some might call it) Posted: 05 Sep 2019 05:16 AM PDT I have had this watch since March '19 and last week I noticed some lines around the aluminum frame and under the crown which appeared like scratches but not really scratches. I looked closely under a flashlight to notice that it goes all around the frame. Now I have never worn the watch to beach, in shower or rain so this was odd. I searched this sub and saw one post where a user had something similar (although on different model). So I reached out to Apple Support and set up an Appointment. The Genius at Store was persistent that these are scratches and he cannot do anything about wear and tear, he additionally suggested that come back later when these scratches/cracks cause any internal damage so he can replace it then. I wasn't going to wait for that and kept saying that wear and tear caused by some manufacturing defect is supposed to be covered under warranty. He spoke to his manager and agreed to replace the watch but under different defect. He did ask me to report to Apple Care as well so in case more users come forward with similar issue Apple will know beforehand and maybe start a replacement/repair program. So if you've experienced something similar do report to Apple. [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Sep 2019 10:43 AM PDT I swear every time I see a black stainless watch it looks gorgeous! Then I realize it's literally the same one on my wrist but it just doesn't look as nice? I don't understand this at all. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Sep 2019 07:33 AM PDT I've had my series 3 for a year or so now, and it needs a good cleaning. It sits on my wrist through workouts, hikes, swims, etc so it gets stuff in the crevices. How do you deep clean yours? Obviously I'm not talking about screen cleaning or band cleaning, I mean getting UP IN THERE. [link] [comments]
Added Apple Pay to watch - no longer get notifications Posted: 05 Sep 2019 05:03 AM PDT It seems my watch is always in enter passcode mode so I may have 7-10 missed texts and notifications but I don't get the alerts or vibrations until I enter the four digit code. Is it really one or the other?? [link] [comments]
Is there a watch app that allows you to check the battery percentage of all of your devices? Posted: 04 Sep 2019 09:43 PM PDT For example if you have airpods, an ipad, mac and iphone. Is there an app that lets you check all the battery percentages in one place at once? [link] [comments]
Durability of water resistant seals on apple watch Posted: 05 Sep 2019 01:57 AM PDT Hello. I'm thinking of buying an apple watch to track my workouts while swimming. It's a regular 25m/4.5 foot swimming pool. From what I've read most people seem to have no problem with using their apple watches while swimming, but some do and have run into problems with their warranties. I went to the Apple Watch page about water resistance here: https://support.apple.com/en-nz/HT205000 and read something interesting. "Water resistance isn't a permanent condition and may diminish over time. Apple Watch can't be rechecked or resealed for water resistance." This sentence sounds misleading to me. If water resistance isn't a permanent condition, and the watch can't be taken in for the seals to be checked and recertified (which is something I do with my mechanical watch) then there is no question of "may diminish over time" it most certainly will diminish over time and eventually the watch will succumb to water. So if I buy an apple watch, should I not use it in the pool? Or if I do use it, just how long do I have before the seals give way and the watch stops working? Does anyone know how durable the seals are? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Sep 2019 12:41 AM PDT So for my birthday coming up (September 22nd) I'm thinking of treating myself a bit to an Apple Watch. I was initially thinking of going with a S4 because they're newer and so better right? But... as I read more and more, the more I hear about the S4 only lasting one day and the S3 lasting 1.5+ Now I'm confused as to which I should get and why the battery might not be as good. Is it because of the bigger screen? Any help/advice is much appreciated. Cheers fellas :) [link] [comments]
GPS vs Cellular question (sorry) Posted: 05 Sep 2019 05:14 AM PDT Hi Upgrading from a fitbit to series 4 once 5 is out and the price drops. Anyway. Do i need cellular to listen to music whilst running without my phone? I have my phone on me most of the time so not fussed about cellular. I wouldn't want to stream music without wifi as i only have 5GB data plan. Without cellular can i download music from my apple itunes match library onto my GPS only phone to play through bluetooth beats headphones whilst out on a run with my phone left at home? If so i imagine i'll be fine with just GPS. Again, will it track my location/map/strava of my run without my phone? Will workouts in the gym work leaving my phone at home without cellular? Thank you / sorry to sound clueless [link] [comments]

Buy the new Series 5? Or wait on replacement old watch Posted: 05 Sep 2019 07:28 AM PDT My apple watch is eligible for the "Screen Replacement Program for Aluminum Models of Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3". It broke out of nowhere two months ago and they said it was my fault. I already made a knew appointment to sent it back to Apple, so I will get a knew one (I hope). However I already had my mind set on buying the series 5, but now I'm not sure anymore. What would you do? [link] [comments]
Why does my watch no longer show me the temperature outside after the latest update? Posted: 04 Sep 2019 08:46 PM PDT Why the hell do I care if there's a 30% chance of rain. I can look outside and guess that. Tell me the damn temperature!!!! [link] [comments]

Looking for an app to vibrate watch at preset intervals. Posted: 04 Sep 2019 07:37 PM PDT Help me finally buy an Apple watch. I've been holding out for when I really needed it and I suddenly have the need for an app to give me subtle vibrations at pre set intervals while I'm giving public speeches as an indicator for me to move on to the next topic. I've been checking out the app "Intervals" and I'm pretty sure this is possible but haven't seen confirmation on that yet. Nor how subtle it does this. Anyone that app or something similar that does this? [link] [comments]

[help] Apple Watch Series 3 for 190? Posted: 04 Sep 2019 10:41 PM PDT My friend wants to sell his 42mm series 3 cellular to me for 250 CAD which is about 190 USD. Its in perfect condition nothing wrong with it, just used. Don't think it has apple care. (had an apple watch before, so i think i'd only use it for fitness, time, notifications, and the camera thing. also that fishing game lol) (also im just a young teen that doesn't have a source of income yet) Q: Should I buy it from him or should I wait until the series 5 comes out and see how much the price drops and possibly get an S4 on craigslist or something. ty [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Sep 2019 04:30 PM PDT Is me or has the battery life on the series 4 noticeably drain faster than before ? I noticed this ever since the update to 5.3 [link] [comments] |
