    [Release] Installer 5 BETA 5 — stability & performance improvements

    Installer 5 BETA 5 was just released on the AppTapp repository.

    NOTE: Because of changes in the database Installer 5 will remove your sources at startup. This means you will have to reimport them. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

    Changes in Beta 5:

    • Fixed crashes at app launch
    • Fixed crashes during sources refresh
    • Fixed app launch on iOS 10
    • Fixed Pre-depends field being forgotten
    • Added a settings button in the normal connection view style
    • Fixed source removal
    • Capitalized get buttons titles
    • Capitalized first letter in the sections headers when sorting packages by names
    • Fixed the false « this source contain 0 packages » error
    • Fixed crashes pertaining to web depictions
    • Fixed displaying false success when an uninstall failed
    • Packages tasks depends on other tasks if the corresponding packages depends on each other
    • Correctly set non concurrency when a package task is running to avoid conflict and weird states

    Known issues in this beta:

    1. The UI for smaller (specifically SE) sized devices is not pleasant. This will be fixed in the next major release.
    2. In some cases, packages which provide another package but with a specific version will be seen by Installer as a separate package, meaning on a rare occasion Installer cannot find the required dependency, even if it's successfully installed. We know what is causing the issue as will fix this as soon as possible. We are humans too, have families & jobs, and Installer is a passion project. Please respect this =)
    3. Importing sources seems to cause a crash for a limited number of people. Installer works perfectly fine when reopening though. Currently looking into the issue, which is related to the DB.

    [Release] LowPowerTweaks - selectively disable tweaks in Low Power Mode

    As requested by u/coolfag5820, LowPowerTweaks is a tweak that allows you to selectively disable tweaks while Low Power Mode is enabled.

    Settings are available to disable specific tweaks (or all of them), or to enable functionality in apps only.

    ​

    Compatible for iOS 9 and up. Should be compatible for A12 devices.

    ​

    Limitation: Tweaks are disabled on application launch, since tweaks are loaded at launch. Same thing for SpringBoard (respring to disable tweaks in LPM).

    [Question] Would anyone be interested in me attempting to port a Spotify Alarm tweak to iOS 12?

    I had the idea to port over Spotify Alarm to iOS 12, so you could play both Spotify songs as your alarm, and Spotify playlists. I feel this would be a great first tweak for me to work on developing, and the entire thing would be open source on my GitHub, and would be free. I figured I would come to reddit to see how much interest people had in the tweak before I go through the trouble of developing it. Thank you for any input, and have a wonderful day.

    [Question] Which tweak is causing this to happen lol?

    [Question] Anyone know if there is a tweak that can force an app to stay open & play content in the background without letting the app know you left the app? This can partially be done using Konban but the app is still interfered with causing it to pause. I’m using a A12 device& Slingtv. Thanks guys

    Changes include:

    • Remove iOS 12 Dependancy
    • Added Zoom Dial to Invert
    • Added Opaque Bars
    • Added White Status Bar Text
    • Updated Header/Icon
    • Bug fixes

    So I updated chimera because I saw on twitter how it fixes this and that issue (I wasn't having any) and it's faster and overall better. I updated now I cant jailbreak. It gets to step two then reboot. I've tried changed exploits. Like it will eventually work, but is there something to make it work faster?

    [Question] Possible to un-disable an iPad without updating (FindMyIpad enabled, but no backups)?

    tl;dr

    1. Is it possible to un-disable an iPad via iCloud without updating, if FindMyIpad is enabled but no backup was ever stored up in the cloud?
    2. If so, is it possible to get a disabled iPad to connect to the internet to communicate with the iCloud server if it's already disabled (and hadn't been wifi-paired prior to the disabling)? It does have cellular ability, it's just never been set up or used before (so no SIM, although I could approach this route if it's the only option that would work).

    We have a disabled iPad Mini (iOS 8-9ish, 10.3.2 max) that I would like to jailbreak, however, the machine it was iTune'd to has long since been reformatted/upgraded. FindMyIPad is enabled in the iPad's iCloud, but there was never anything backed up to its iCloud. So I'm wondering if FindMyIpad feature alone is able to un-disable an iPad without updating even if there isn't a cloud backup?

    Secondly, is the issue of internet connection. Assuming FindMyIpad could un-disable it without updating, the iPad wasn't connected to wifi, so it wouldn't have an internet connection. I researched the possibility of feeding it internet access over USB via a desktop tether, but unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't appear this would be possible since the iPad won't even register with a computer unless it's in recovery mode, and recovery mode I assume doesn't have network access ability anyway.

    The ideal would be if it could be un-disabled without updating without wiping, but this isn't crucial; the primary goal is preventing it from updating so that it can be jailbroken.

    *For reference, it's an iPad Mini/Cellular, probably on iOS 8-9, 10.2 max. I can't tell exactly which iOS version it's on since it's disabled, but I do know that it wasn't ever updated beyond 10.2ish; my best guess would be iOS 9ish, maybe low 10's. Apologies that isn't more helpful.

    Hello Reddit,

    I'm making this post to educate users on how they can get any version of Chimera Jailbreak on the fly.

    I found this out while growing desperate finding a specific version that was no longer hosted on the website.

    I tried it and was surprised it works and I was curious as to why I had never tried this before.

    It's stressful because at this point you're trying to fix your phone, but you're having to search down that .ipa file.

    If you are in an Un-Jailbroken state you will have to follow the Computer method to sideload the application primarily.

    ​

    This process can be done simply by following the directions in this thread.

    ​

    1. Here's the link for the current version of Chimera Jailbreak as of today: https://chimera.sh/downloads/ios/1.0.9.ipa

    2. You take this link and change the version number accordingly to what version you are trying to download.

    Example: https://chimera.sh/downloads/ios/1.0.6.ipa - Will fetch the download for Chimera Jailbreak v1.0.6.

    ​

    Computer Method (Non-Jailbroken)

    3a. Allow file to download on your PC/Mac and move to an easily accessible space.

    4a. Plug in your device to your Computer and use Cydia Impactor to install .ipa file on to your device.

    ----------

    Non-Computer Method (Jailbroken)

    3b. Access the link using your choice of mobile browser, Safari preferred (Just easier).

    4b. Click "More..." and open in Reprovision to install if you are using Safari or Download using your preferred browser and locate accordingly in your files to install.

    ​

    1. Use your Chimera Jailbreak version accordingly.

    ​

    Note: I don't know how long this will last and if the developers agree with this method of sourcing out the .ipa files, but I'm sure they'll be happy about the fact you're downloading it from the official source opposed to using prohibited apps to push the app onto the device which can be used to cause harm to a user's device.

    I recommend downloading every version and having a backup of each .ipa in a folder just in case something happens or you want to downgrade for any reason.

    Non-Computer method was informed to me by u/Deja-Wu who brought up a great point and idea to make it easier for some users.

    ​
