Super Hydorah on sale $4.99 > $1.99. Great game, totally worth the asking price!

I played through the ending of Sky last night (thanks to some friends) and finally got my thoughts down. It’s long, but I thought some folks might be interested. TL;DR: It’s gorgeous and absolutely fun at times, but its monetization and pro-consumerism aspects are at odds with its wholesome story.

Whats the must buys on ios, never really been into mobile gaming

    Posted: 24 Jul 2019 09:41 AM PDT

Please help me find an old ios game!

    Posted: 24 Jul 2019 06:43 AM PDT

So I remember playing a game on my iPad in 2013-2015, when I was young. I think it was a tower defense game and the "heroes" were cats. I only remember the first one, Stone. She was a gray cat with a hammer and she said something like "STONE STONE MEEOOWW". Every level had a different cat and took place in a different place. The first 2 levels were free but you had to pay to play the other ones. The style was pretty cartoonish. (I tried to look it up but all I found was Battlecats ☹️)

When do you think we will see another resurgence in the iOS gaming market?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2019 01:25 AM PDT

I remember being able to find a somewhat "decent" game every few hours on the store. Seems like games have been getting worse and worse with more and more in game purchases. When do you think we will see a change in the current market?

    Help me find Zombie game

    Posted: 24 Jul 2019 07:30 AM PDT

So I used to play a zombie game about two years ago where it was only 1 dimensional. You can only swipe left to right and would be able to build your own little city. There was a guard post at the far left of the screen with a sniper. I don't exactly remember the name of the game but it was kind of kid friendly. Any info on it or the name of the game would be appreciated! thanks

    Best Kingdom Rush game?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2019 07:11 AM PDT

Just curious what you think is best? I loved the original but I heard the others are bogged down with in app purchases. Especially the latest.

I guess I don't want to buy a game where the purchase enough isn't enough to beat it.

Top 15 Apple TV Games with controller support

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 03:57 PM PDT

With Apple Arcade coming soon to Apple TV, and PS4 and Xbox One S controllers now supported... I thought I'd share 15 of my favorite tvOS games to play with a controller. All games have been played on an Apple TV 4K, with a PS4 controller. Let me know if I missed a game?

Side note: Apple TV is the cheapest and best way to get into Apple Arcade.

    15 - Real Racing 3 (FREE): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/real-racing-3/id556164008?mt=8

Offers four player split-screen. Each player can use their own external controller.

    14 - Teslagrad ($4.99 USD): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/teslagrad/id1374372468?mt=8

Much easier to play with a controller compared to the Siri Remote.

    13 - Octodad: Dadliest Catch ($4.99 USD): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/octodad-dadliest-catch/id1017367213?mt=8

Octodad supports local on-screen co-op. One controller can be used to move his arms, while the other moves his legs for example. It's very funny.

    12 - Badland ($0.99 USD): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/badland/id535176909?mt=8

Badland supports up to three player on-screen local co-op. Each player can use their own external controller.

    11 - Sky Force Reloaded (FREE): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sky-force-reloaded/id976116090?mt=8

This game has two player on-screen local local co-op.

    10 - Space Marshals 2 ($4.99 USD): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/space-marshals-2/id1072737282?mt=8

When you connect a controller, the UI changes accordingly in this game and looks much cleaner. The game also requires a controller to play.

    9 - Kingdom New Lands ($9.99 USD): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/kingdom-new-lands/id1118513354?mt=8

    8 - Horizon Chase - World Tour: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/horizon-chase-world-tour/id991018252?mt=8

Much easier to play with a controller, especially when going around corners. This is a PAID game, but you have the opportunity to try it before you buy

    7 - Heroki ($4.99): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/heroki/id883602033?mt=8

    6 - Dandara ($5.99 USD): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dandara/id1168013926?mt=8

    5 - Barbearian ($8.99 USD): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/barbearian/id1351822099?mt=8

    4 - Evoland 2 ($7.99 USD): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/evoland-2/id1291427111?mt=8

Evoland requires a controller to play.

    3 - Rush Rally 3 ($3.99 USD: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rush-rally-3/id1437096541?mt=8

With a controller you can manually change gears, and change viewing angles more easily. Plus the game has online and local WIFI multiplayer.

    2 - INSIDE ($6.99 USD) https://apps.apple.com/us/app/playdeads-inside/id1201642309?mt=8

Download first chapter for FREE on App Store.

    1 - SHADOWGUN LEGENDS (FREE) https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shadowgun-legends/id1091251242?mt=8

With a controller connected you can click the right analogue stick down to run.

UPCOMING APPLE TV GAMES WITH CONTROLLER SUPPORT:

    - Sky: Children of Light (Free): http://thatgamecompany.com/sky/

Out now on iPhone & iPad. Coming later to tvOS in 2019. thatgamecompany (the devs), have informed "the tvOS version will support controllers".

    - Beach Buggy Racing 2 (Price TBD): https://www.vectorunit.com/beach-buggy-racing-2

A premium console version will be available for tvOS in 2019, date TBD.

It's worth noting that the original game is on Apple TV and supports controllers and four player split screen.

    - Oceanhorn 2 (A part of Apple Arcade subscription service): https://www.oceanhorn.com/oceanhorn

Coming soon to Apple TV and Apple Arcade. This is the followup game to the original Oceanhorn. Now it's a third-person action-RPG game and looks amazing.

These controller games didn't make the list for different reasons:

    • Transistor (game is stuck on loading screen for me)
    • Dungeon Hunter 5 (Message appears saying it can't connect to server)
    • Modern Combat 5 (Message appears saying it can't connect to server)
    • NBA 2K16 (removed from App Store)
    • Angry Birds GO (Not available worldwide, so I couldn't play it myself)
    • Asphalt 8: Airborne (Game is having performance issues for me in both tvOS 12 and 13)

I've made a YouTube video on this topic too: https://youtu.be/1TZhtvWReNE

SteelSeries vs XBOX/PS4 in the age of iPadOS

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 08:29 PM PDT

After having the iOS MFi controller market cornered for some time, surely the folks at SteelSeries must see the writing on the wall...

...once iPadOS and iOS go full public release and support Xbox and ps4 controllers.. even if they don't already have a controller lying around, why would anyone voluntarily go and buy a SteelSeries controller for the same price?

    Searching for a new game

    Posted: 24 Jul 2019 09:23 AM PDT

So, I am searching for a game, like Minecraft or ark. A survival mode would be great alongside with first or third person view. You have to go resource gathering and build a base. Any suggestions?

    The good old days

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 08:29 PM PDT

I like the upgrading and cleaning up aspect of homescapes and the like, but I suck at the matching parts. Is there a game where you can upgrade/clean up by crafting and looking for items? I’ve already played stardew valley.

Is it possible to play older iOS games on current iPhones?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2019 05:11 AM PDT

Reason I ask is that I'm a huge mass effect fan and wanted to play the iOS game for mass effect that came out around mass effect 3 titled mass effect infiltrator.

The problem is that the game came out more a while ago and is no longer in the App Store, so If anyone can help that would be appreciated.

Is there a good city builder for iOS that doesn’t use in app purchases?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 09:12 PM PDT

As per title. I refuse to play the new SimCity due to micro transactions, I am happy to pay full price for a worthy city builder but not interested in being hampered by awful in app purchases.
