Did Apple keep the iTunes Visualizer in the new Music App in macOS Catalina?

I'm referring to this brilliant feature. Hands down the best part of iTunes!

Is it safe to delete an Application to save space, as long as I move it to an external hard drive beforehand? Will I be able to move it back to my Mac's hard drive at a later time?

Some other these Apps, like Pages, take up a ton of space and I never use them.

    Mojave Font Rendering

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 08:28 PM PDT

Mojave dropped subpixel antialiasing, and fonts look terrible on my 1K external display, especially in night mode.

I've tried the popular terminal command to turn antialiasing back on, but it still looks really bad.

    Are there any other workarounds?

At what pixel density does it look ok?

How does font rendering look on an old Thunderbolt Display?

    MacProtection or MacUpdate Virus

    Posted: 21 Jun 2019 12:02 AM PDT

Hey, So i have the MacProtection/MacUpdate Virus on my system that malwarebytes is unable to remove. I am able to force quit the process using activity monitor, but I have a quick question in regards to manually removing it. Using activity monitor I found all the file directories open form which the virus comes from, before I manually go in to delete everything, I just wan to ensure none of the below files will cause me an issue after removing.

How do I stop iCloud from downloading to my Mac when the cancel button is greyed out?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 03:43 AM PDT

Not sure if this is the right place for this, I'm tearing my hair out, I accidentally unchecked 'optimise Mac storage' in iCloud settings and now I have 70GB of data downloading to my MacBook which I really don't want and need.

Is there a way to kill this in terminal or force stop it? When I click the cancel 'X' it is greyed out and won't let me.

If I uncheck iCloud Drive it says that all documents stored in iCloud will be removed from my Mac - which I don't want! I just want to stop the download!

How to disable Facetime from lowering the overall system volume?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 08:10 PM PDT

When using Facetime the volume of music/chrome is lowered to a nearly non-audible level. Is there anyway to disable this "feature"? I tried turning off audio ducking in settings but it made no difference and after lots of googling I was unable to find a solution. Any help would be extremely helpful!

High Sierra: Notes taking over CPU constantly

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 10:17 AM PDT

When Notes is running, Notes.app and com.apple.Notes.datastore are each using anywhere from 30% to >100% of the CPU at all times, causing the fans to go crazy. It seems to be constantly updating the sqlite databases in ~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.apple.notes.

I tried disconnecting Notes from my iCloud account on that Mac, as well as deleting the entire group.com.apple.notes folder. This sort of helped briefly, but then the problem came back.

Interestingly, on my work Mac, which runs Mojave, I don't see this problem at all. More interesting: the sqlite db on Mojave is much larger than it is on HS. About 1.65 GBs on Mojave vs 185 MBs on HS.

Is the one in HS just very very slowly updating itself and if I let it run long enough it'll sync up? All the notes seem to be there, so I can't figure out what exactly it's doing. And this has been happening for weeks already, so if I have to just let it run its course, we're talking probably months before it's all done.

YouTube full screen is unresponsive when using Safari

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 04:45 AM PDT

When going full screen on YouTube after a little while I am not able to press on any of the controls or make the bottom timeline appear by moving my mouse. This can be fixed by opening YouTube in a new tab but happens all the time

Help me understand copying images to the clipboard on MacOS

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 07:59 AM PDT

If I'm in Chrome or Safari, if I right-click on an image and pick "Copy Image", it copies the URL to the clipboard (or that's what I get when I paste elsewhere). I would have thought that's what "Copy Image Address" would do, and that "Copy Image" would place the image on the clipboard.

Short of a snipping/clipping tool is there an easy way to get it to actually copy the IMAGE to the clipboard, and not just the URL?

    Thanks!

why are we still pressing "delete" in 2019?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 04:59 PM PDT

This is a minor irritation, but if you're working on a big screen and you click delete you then have to mouse over or keystroke off the default "cancel" to confirm delete. This is way too many steps.

This makes sense in the days of limited disk space but why not just keep a "recently deleted" folder for everything where you can recover accidental deletes rather than requiring a confirmation every single time.

Is there any application I can use to create shortcuts to menu items?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 07:19 AM PDT

I want to create shortcuts for menu items of apps, even if that item does not have a shortcut assigned by the app developer. I know I can use the option shortcuts inside system preferences > keyboard > shortcuts, but this function fails constantly by stop working frequently or not being able to assign the desired shortcut.

Is there any other application that can be used instead?

How do I change scan settings on Mac?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 06:34 AM PDT

So I'm relatively new to the world of Macs. I just bought my first Mac (Mac mini 2018) a few months back and am still getting acclimated. Today, I realized I'm constantly having to change my scan settings every time I want to scan something (i.e. dpi/resolutions, file type, size, etc.). There has to be a way to change the scanner's default settings (right?) but I just can't seem to figure out how. Any help? Thanks!

    Thunderbolt display fan control application

    Posted: 20 Jun 2019 05:13 AM PDT

    Hi,

There's Macs Fan Control by Crystalidea for Apple computers, but was there ever an app that allowed you to control the fan speed/monitor the temperature of the Thunderbolt Display? No support from Macs Fan Control, it only detects my 5K iMac's fan as expected. Reason I'd want to do this is I'm sure my TBD's power supply is on the way out, as theres an intermittent buzz maybe once an hour (no other symptoms tho) and it sounds silly but I'd love to be able to delay the inevitable.

    Thanks.
