Deleting files, but losing space! Posted: 28 Jun 2019 09:37 PM PDT I am at a real loss here I have a 2015 Macbook running the MacOS Beta. I only use my macbook now for the sims 4 and video editing. A few hours ago I went to import one of my newest videos and was met with a low storage notification, honestly not super uncommon for me, I went into files and deleted several gigabytes worth of video files probably 10 gigabytes worth. I went to look at my storage and noticed my storage which had been 3 gigs left was now only 1.5 gig left. I tried deleting more things, but the storage went down even more to 1.3 gigs left. After messing with it for several hours I somehow got it to 4 gigs, but I know that is still wrong as I deleleted a good 35 gigs worth of space if not more. Here is what I've tried so far.
Please help me out someone I'm not sure what to do anymore. [link] [comments]
Searching for Useful Applications? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 02:49 PM PDT Hi, I get really sick from the App Store. I have a visual motion sensitivity, and the animations as it opens and close results give me awful migraines, I don't always close my eyes long enough, and it doesn't obey "Reduce Motion." I also have a hard time searching the App Store. It often ignores search terms and substitutes other, more common, words. I imagine many users without my sensory issues would still have problems searching the App Store. Is there some other interface that can find these applications? For me, it wouldn't be too much of a problem if results then link to the App Store for purchase, as long as I don't have to search through endless migraine-inducing animations to try to find relevant results. Thank you. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jun 2019 07:09 PM PDT Forced to migrate 2 machines away from Mavericks. Increasing deprecations making it too management intensive to stay. I need help printing on an iMac. Posted: 28 Jun 2019 04:19 PM PDT Hello there. I work at a tattoo studio and we use an iMac (2017 i think) to print out our stencils. The problem I seem to be having is that I cannot seem to make it so that the print outs are not centered. For example if I have a small tattoo I need to ring out it will only give me the option to print out in the center of the page. My questions is.. I'd there a way to position where on the page I want to have the items printed out? If I could get the images to print to the corner for example it would save us a TON of paper. I cant seem to find it as an option and I'm thinking I may need to download a third party application to do so. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jun 2019 04:03 PM PDT So I am interested in learning macOS, but if I buy an older machine, what is the minimum version I should be looking for that is similar enough to the current version, or can be updated to the current version? I don't want to buy a machiene that has version X on it if that version will not be representative of current versions used in business. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Lock individual apps with a password? Posted: 28 Jun 2019 06:44 AM PDT I want to know if there is a way to lock individual apps, so if I leave my computer I would have to unlock the mac and then also enter a second password to use firefox, for example. [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Jun 2019 03:40 AM PDT Hello everyone. I bought second handed a MacBook Pro retina mdi-2012. I need to get a recovery usb stick because main partition is toast, and online updater throws me -2005f (resetting the nvram and power controller did nothing) I just can't find the damned dmg offline installer and I don't own another Mac to get it.
