İ think Truetone is one of the most underappreciated feature in İphones. Posted: 27 Jun 2019 09:59 AM PDT İ have İphone for nearly 5 years. İ used my 6s for more than 4,5 years and recently got XR about a month ago and in this 5 years, my eyes never tired from looking at screen. And i use my phone a lot. İ realized this after i had to do something on my sisters Note 8. İn 5 minutes, i feel like my eyes are bleeding from whites and oversaturation. İ can look my İphone for hours without feeling any kind of eye tiring for comparison. Also it makes using phone at nights much easier because yellowish white is really good choice. İ just wanted to share my opinion. [link] [comments]

Trends with expensive apps/services on iOS Posted: 27 Jun 2019 03:15 AM PDT These last years I've found more and more services / apps that are surprisingly expensive, with week- or month-based subscriptions. I initially thought that it was a weird trend and that it would stop quickly. And I got around by coding my own apps or web services where it mattered, then forgot about all that. But looking around and testing a few apps recently I don't have the impression that the trend is going down. Much the opposite actually, and I'm wondering whether, with the iPhone prices going through the roof, it is a normal trend or if I just stumbled upon the wrong examples? Is it reasonable in 2019 to pay 50$ per year for a time tracking app, when a few years ago it was 2-5$ for a perpetual license of similar products? Is there usually a way around it (such as free services) or is it really where we are headed? Also, is it specific to the Apple world? I can imagine Android putting pressure for cheap services because of generally lower device costs? I'm curious both as a customer and somewhat as a developer and startup enthusiast, but I couldn't find clear literature about that. Thanks for any insights :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jun 2019 08:56 AM PDT On my current XS (12.3.1) and two of the OG X I owned last year (11.something), at the beginning of any media from Google Play Music, YouTube, and Spotify, my phone produces a weird metallic pop or chirp sound. The issue usually doesn't present itself in the first hour or two of phone owbership, but then once it starts it won't go away. Using Apple Music does not produce this sound. Using either YouTube's website or a 3rd party client is also fine. The sound is inconsistent in volume and pitch. It does this regardless if the music is downloaded or streamed and regardless of quality. The sound persists after a factory rest, app update/uninstall. My devices are never restored from a backup. My iPad with the same apps does not produce this error, neither do any of my Pixel devices. Searching has not really helped me find any info on this and Apple could not really help either. If anyone knows anything about this, please help me out. I have 10 days to return this phone if it's a hardware issue, but I don't want to do that if it isn't hardware related.
