Is it good to use a MacBook on power adapter for prolonged amount of time? Posted: 01 Jun 2019 03:31 AM PDT I recently bought a Apple Certified Refurbished 2017 MBA last month and it came with 3 cycle count of battery. So far I've been using it plugged in to the power adapter and it is still on battery cycle count of 3. I know this is somewhat good, but shall I cycle the battery at least once every 3 or 6 months? What advice would you give? [link] [comments]

MacBook Air 2018 can’t even handle to open 11 photos because it crashes on preview. Posted: 31 May 2019 10:48 PM PDT The spinning ball show up every time I want to open 11 photos or less on preview. Then everything stops working. It crashes and then the screen turns black and I can't not wake up the mac. So I force the shutting down by pressing the bottom for turning on /off the Mac. This is so disappointing I have reset it so many times Reinstalled os Have a back up made with time machine Reset and check error on safe mode Nothing seems to work Let me tell you that this mac arrive with the hardrive unmounted Apple customer service through chat told me that a Mac book air 2018 should handle that tiny photos on preview without problems. There is something bad with this bad. I have such a bad luck that I go a failed one [link] [comments]

Will stickers leave a different shade when taken off from a MacBook after some months/years? Posted: 31 May 2019 10:03 AM PDT I wanted to stick some stickers on my MBP but i'm worried that it might leave marks or that the lid will be a different shade where the sticker was. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 May 2019 03:00 PM PDT So I have an iMac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch and they are all under the same Apple ID. I am getting a new MacBook to like replace the iMac, but I am not getting rid of the iMac. I was wondering if when I set up the new MacBook (Air 2017 if that makes a difference) and it asked for my Apple ID, I don't want it to end up setting up based on the iMac and then my new MacBook having loads of stuff on it that the iMac has. I want the MacBook to be fresh and new without all the stuff I have on the iMac. Any help on what to do would be amazing haha! [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 May 2019 10:27 AM PDT I'm looking to get a MacBook to build up a library of songs I've written, firstly on Garageband which I've used before and then teach myself Logic Pro at some point. My budget will only allow for a second hand Mac at the moment. I've seen some for around £300 (sometimes even less) but they're from like 2012 / 2013 and I've read that Macs only last 5-ish years? I have seen some at this budget being sold by Apple Certified retailers, with one year's warranty. So I guess if it only lasts a year you're paying £25 a month which isn't too bad. Still - I'm a bit sceptical. Any ideas on.. a) buying from these Apple Certified Sellers with one year warranties? (Are these trustworthy?) b) buying a second hand mac for £300 that has the ability to run Logic Pro at some point? Too risky or fine? [link] [comments]
2007 Black Macbook (Battery Not Detected/Not Charging) Problem Posted: 31 May 2019 08:19 AM PDT Hey all, Thanks in advance. I took apart my 2007 Black Macbook to clean the fan and exhaust but after, the Macbook will only work with the charger connected but it will not detect the battery or charge it. I tried SMC reset with no success. Hardware wise does anyone have any tips or something I may have missed when putting the Macbook back together that would make it not charge? Is there a specific cable for the battery that I need to reseat? [link] [comments]
Security risk w/ selling old MacBook (2010) w/ a burntout motherboard and hard drive removed? Posted: 31 May 2019 07:58 AM PDT I want to sell an old MacBook (2010) ever since its motherboard burnt out. I have since removed the hard drive (perfectly fine, turned that into an external hard drive) and now I'd like to sell it for parts. Thing is, is there a security risk if the hard drive has been removed? I would reset this MacBook to factory settings, but it won't stay on for more than 10sec before it turns off, so I can't run commands to factory reset it. [link] [comments]

Macbook air/pro 2018/2019 as desktop replacement with external monitor, fans? Posted: 31 May 2019 02:16 AM PDT Hi there, As my monitor and PC are really old (7 to 8 years) I am planning to get new hardware. I am thinking about getting a macbook with a new external monitor with USB c to which I want my Macbook stay connected most of the times. I heard that some windows Ultrabooks like the matebook x pro run hot and get loud when they are connected to an external monitor even when doing only light tasks like office .I be searched through Reddit and saw that also MacBooks have that problem. Is this still a thing with the new macbooks from 2019 or the macbook air, cause this would be really annoying for me. Thnx in advance [link] [comments]
