| Changing my Apple ID login email Posted: 29 Jun 2019 06:25 PM PDT I have had my Apple ID for years. It is a 3rd party email address. (GMail). I am almost finished removing Google from my online life, one of the few remaining things is the email account which is also my login ID for my Apple ID. I have an iCloud email address associated with my Apple ID and I have read Apples instructions on switching my login ID from the gmail to iCloud and I think I am ready. My question is I have a paid developer account with Apple tied to account as well. Are there any "gotchas" associated with this process I should be aware of? The screen is not shattered and it seems fine but when I hold down the volume, power and home button the apple logo will not appear :( I have used up all my iCloud storage or whatever it is. Posted: 29 Jun 2019 08:26 PM PDT around two weeks ago i broke my phone. i didn't think it was a big deal and since i was on a tight budget i got it fixed at a mall kiosk. this place obviously did not have the original apple parts, but the screen works fine and was dirt cheap. then today the screen began going black for five minutes at a time with about 3-4 hours in between each blackout. i know the phone itself isn't dying because my music kept on playing, and if i tried to take a screenshot it would show up in my camera roll later. is the new screen causing this? i'm sure it is but i would like to make sure before i get it fixed. | Delete photos from iCloud, but not from devices Posted: 29 Jun 2019 08:05 PM PDT Hey I want to remove photos from my iCloud (and thus, will stop using iCloud for photo backup except for the free 5GB backups of everything else) but I don't want to remove them from my devices. Is the only way to do that directly on iCloud.com? I'm kind of concerned that I'll delete photos I have permanently. Right now I have iCloud Photos backup turned OFF, but the photos remain in the iCloud currently. I assume up until my subscription terminates on the 5th. I want to downgrade and stop paying for iCloud and just do manual backups (of photos) to my MacBook. It's not such a problem that they are removed from my phone, because they'll still be on my MacBook. The backup is the important part. I am just fearful of deleting photos anywhere, and iCloud "syncing" this deletion by deleting them elsewhere too. So, what's the right way to do that? [link] [comments]  |

| Cannot Load Intel Power Gadget Driver Posted: 29 Jun 2019 07:46 PM PDT I recently attempted to download Intel Power Gadget for my 2015 15" MacBook pro on 10.14.5 (Mojave). After installing, I got the following error: "The Power Gadget driver is not currently loaded. If you just installed the app, please load the driver by going to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and Allow the system software from "Intel Corporation Apps". Then restart your computer. " Unfortunately, upon going to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, I realized I did not have an allow button. At this point, I tried uninstalling intel power gadget, disabling Gatekeeper, allowing applications from anywhere, and re-downloading the software, but this produced no luck. I then looked in System Information, and under disabled software saw the following: Z3L495V9L4 - com.intel.driver.EnergyDriver: Version: 3.5.5 Reason: No User Consent Date Disabled: Unknown Unfortunately, there is no way I am aware of to remove software from the disabled software category. Since I saw that it was a consent issue, I disabled kext-consent in an attempt to lift the requirement (although I doubt this is the issue). This produced no luck. I then considered that maybe it was my account, so I created a new admin login and re-downloaded the software. Again, no luck. I'm looking for a way to allow the power gadget driver to be loaded. Once again, please note: I do not have an allow button, and despite uninstalling and reinstalling every step, I was unable to get this button to appear, According to System Information, the software is under the Disabled Software category, which I don't know how to enable any software from. | Connecting Macbook Pro to Airplay kills laptop connection Posted: 29 Jun 2019 07:20 PM PDT I am using a 2017 macbook pro running the latest Mojave. When running a speed test while on wireless without airplay turned on, I am getting 160+ mbps for my connection. When I connect to airplay to share my screen, my connection speed goes to 3-5mbps. Does anyone have any similar issues to this or know of a fix? I can run a speedtest on any other device while connected to airplay and they are receiving 160mbps I would expect a drop in connection, but loosing just about all of my connection is just unacceptable, can't even stream a youtube video to the TV at that speed. | MacBook Air Early 2015 M2 Adapter Posted: 29 Jun 2019 01:12 PM PDT Hello guys! I have an early 2015 MBA and I need to change the ssd. I'm thinking about Samsung 970 EVO or something cheaper. The actual and original Ssd have a write speed of about 200mbs and the read is 900mbs The problem is that I read that with mvne there are problems with long sleeps and kernel panic. I never shutdown my Mac, it always sleeps, sometimes for days. Do anyone knows which is the right adapter to buy to prevent the problem? I looked everywhere but can't find an updated answer. My iCloud Drive setup was such that the only interaction my PC had with iCloud Photos were the special Upload and Download folders (located at C:\username\Pictures\iCloud Photos). I did not have and do not want my PC photos on iCloud. Now I download the new and improved iCloud Drive app from the Microsoft Store (v.10.4) on Windows 10 v.1903. I turn on iCloud Photos - the description says "Upload and store your PC photo library in Cloud and access photos and videos from all your devices". The status box in the corner says it's Initializing 20,000+ items. My iCloud Photo Library (including videos) is only 15,000 items. I have 29,000 files in my PC pictures folder. My assumption is that it's trying to upload my entire PC pictures folder. Is this a bug and it won't actually upload my photos? Do I need to move my PC photos to a temporary location — and what happens when I move them back? Am I stuck with using iCloud.com to upload pictures from my DSLR? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 29 Jun 2019 03:41 PM PDT 10.5" iPad Pro. I open a pdf document in Safari. Click the arrow in the corner to select save as pdf. From here I can hit the pen icon to fill in my info with th iPencil. Then I can save the edited pdf to Files in the Pages folder (but I can't change the file name for some reason). From there I email it off to work and everything seems good. But now I can't open that edited pdf in Pages. I can see the file but it's greyed out. How am I supposed to open this pdf file and why is the entire process so convoluted and why can't I rename the document [link] [comments]  |

It does, however, show up in Disk Utility. When I try to run First Aid, I get a message saying that the partition map on the disk is damaged (I have two partitions on it, one for backing up various files and another for Time Machine), and Disk Utility is unable to repair it. | Reset deceased brother’s iPad? Posted: 29 Jun 2019 02:01 PM PDT Some brief background. My brother passed away a few weeks ago, and I'm currently in possession of his iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. I have access into his phone via passcode, but his iPad apparently has a different passcode. He's on a payment plan for all devices thru Verizon, with only like $75 left on the iPad. If I do an erase device from Find my iPhone on the iPad, will that remove activation lock and allow the iPad to be transferred to someone else? Or is going to Apple with a death certificate and a receipt the only viable way of basically resetting this iPad? [link] [comments]  |

I know it's old tech, but I just really want to use these so the kids can watch Netflix and YouTube, maybe a bit of Safari. If I try to open the Apple wallet it shows a box saying: You can't open the "Wallet & Apple Pay" preferences pane because it is not available to you at this time. To see this preferences pane, you may need to connect a device to your computer. I researched a little bit and found some posts on the Apple forum with the tip that I have to open ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist and change PKSecureElementAvailableFlags from a 1 to a 3 Things I tried:

| iphone alarm volume got me fired from my job Posted: 29 Jun 2019 11:28 AM PDT i mad a thread on this earlier and i've received the common googable answers. I've when under sounds and haptics,, slide the ringer and alerts volume all the way up,, toggled the change with buttons option, put the ringer volume loud separately from the volume button, AND NONE OF THS WOKS. Today was the last day my boss was having it and it sounds like a crappy excuse BUT IT KEPT HAPPENING. at the BEST. the alarm is loud for 3 seconds but then goes down to an abnormally low volume.. I've force w my iphone XR, I've updated the software, I'M DONE. Never in my life would i imagine getting fired because of a damn iphone RINGER VOLUME. Ive RESEARCHED all over the net and if i hear "go to sounds and haptics" one more time, i will break tihs useless POS once and for all. WHY DOES IT APPEAR LOUD FOR 2 SECONDS THEN GOES TO AN ULTRA LOW VOLUME??!? don't want to make genius appointmnt foR this and just want to switch phones already.. Ii also fall asleep to podcasts at a low volume but the RINGER volume is set all the way up so my frustration i palpable at this point. [link] [comments]  |
