    Will Apple replace this? It's the original power brick that came with when I bought my iPhone 7 in May 2017. Never had a problem before now. The cord itself seems fine, I'm glad I didn't have my iPhone plugged in when this happened, but now I definitely wouldn't feel safe plugging this brick in anywhere after the sparks.

    I'm kind of entertained that I blew up a school power outlet. The outlet isn't functional now and is scorched af.

    iMessage Activation on Secondary iPhone (w/o SIM)

    EDIT: Like their support page says, just give it some time. Even after the "Waiting for activation." error it started to work.

    So I have an old iPhone (4S) lying around on 9.3.5. I'm currently using an iPhone XS Max as my daily driver.

    I wanted to use my iPhone 4S for iMessage (with a jailbreak it acts like a relay to my PC and allows me to use the basic iMessage features on my laptop). It was working fine for the past few months or so but now nothing sends. In the Settings app the iMessages/FaceTime section just says "Waiting for activation." Toggling it on and off will just say "An error occurred during activation. Try again."

    I've tried turning iMessage and FaceTime off and then rebooting, then turning it on again. I've made sure the time zone is correct in Date & Time. Still no luck. My iPad still lets me use iMessage just fine so I'm not too sure why my iPhone won't let me. Is it because it expects a phone number to be able to use it? I'm not sure what changed in the past few days that won't let me use iMessage anymore. Any feedback or help would be appreciated!

    [Question] Can you sync iCloud and Google Drive together?

    I want to know if I can make it so when I edit/add files to my google drive, it will automatically also do so to icloud so I have 2 different cloud accounts with the same files in case something happens...

    As the title says, I restored my iPhone XS Max to the last backup, from July of 2017, not really knowing what I was doing (stupid, I know.) When my iPhone powered back on, it was as if I had the iPhone 6 Plus software and apps on the XS MAX. All my photos, contacts, messages, and phone calls were from 2017. Is there any way to reverse or undo this? HELP!!!

    External Display unable to display unless it's on 1080i or 720p

    My external display is entirely black when connected to the mac when I use "Default for display" or 1080p. However, when I choose 1080i, it outputs a flickering display while 720p outputs a clean display but indeed smaller.

    I am using a MacBook Pro Mid 2012 model running on macOS Mojave but I'm having this problem before on macOS El Capitan. Using a generic ASUS Monitor connected to the MacBook via Thunderbolt Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable. The monitor was previously working as intended (1080p) before.

    I tried my co-worker's same monitor, using his Thunderbolt Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter + HDMI to HDMI and I can output 1080p on it. What do you think is the problem, is my cable broken?

    Mac randomly switching me to the desktop chrome is on

    I have mac air on the latest update. Sometimes when I'm in a different desktop, it just cuts to chrome. I will swipe back to the previous desktop, but it will just cut back to chrome again. This has only started occurring recently. It seems to random happen randomly with no noticeable trigger. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it?

    Help: Apple Pencil G1 Not Charging

    I recently purchased an iPad 9.7 inch and the Apple Pencil (gen 1) and it isnt working. I have plugged the Apple Pencil into its USB charging adapter as well as the charging Jack of the iPad and still it wont charge above 0%. Is the pencil's battery just broken and I need to return it and get a replacement? I bought them both off Apple's Amazon prime store, so I can most likely easily return it but I'd hate to go to the trouble if it's an easy fix. Pics attached. Thanks!

    Microphone problem repair cost?

    Something strange and annoying on my login screen. How to fix it?

    We're on Mojave version 13.14.5

    "1234" is not the password for this account. I don't want "Password is 1234" to appear on the login screen any more. it's annoying and might mislead one of the members of my family who uses this machine.

    "1234" used to be the password to another account on this machine. That account has been deleted.

    I asked here for help with this a few days ago, but it didn't go anywhere, so I'm asking again.

    I don't think this is the kind of password prompt that the OS provides. I don't know what it is. It's possibly something I added, then forgot about. If I did, I can't remember how. I am sure I didn't use the terminal or a third party app.

    I realize it might be something obvious, somewhere in a System Preferences menu, but I can't find it.

    Assistance will be appreciated. Actually, I'd be happy to give gold to the first person who helps me solve this problem.

    My iPhone is filled with my girlfriends saved passwords

    I had a 2016 MacBook Pro and she had a 2015 and we both agreed to sign out of iCloud, wipe the laptops, and trade (we preferred each other's models). I just noticed I have about 70 of her saved passwords on my iPhone, how did this happen it must be from one of the laptops right? How do I check what it's coming from?

    I was meddling with iCloud settings and accidentally transferred the pictures from my iPhone (all 40 thousand of them) to my 32 Gb iPad. I fiddled around and managed to delete all the photos, but the pictures app still shows as weighing 27 Gb, even though it’s empty. Help?

    Ipad Pro 10.5' 2nd Gen screen has small grey line when pressed

    Hello! :) I am fairly new to the apple world and have the opportunity to purchase a cheap ($250 AUD) Ipad Pro 2nd gen which I would like to use for art (procreate) and uni. The reason that it is cheap is because whenever it's pressed above the home button a small grey line appears on the screen. The seller says she doesn't know why it happens or what it is.

    Apple TV 3rd generation

    Hey you guys, I have the chance to buy the Apple TV 3rd generation for super cheap. I was wondering if it's worth it considering it's an older model. I'm in college so I spend a lot of time in my apartment with stuff playing in the background while I do work. The only streaming services I have is Hulu and Spotify. Do you guys think it's worth it?

    My SE won’t charge

    How the hell do I recover my iCloud password!?

    Apple's procedures for recovering a forgotten password are absolutely ridiculous! 1) Click on 'I forgot' link 2) Enter phone number to get code sent by SMS 3) Ask if I have a logged in Mac. NO, I FORGOT MY PASSWORD! 4) Ask me to enter my credit/debit card details. Can't do this as the last time I bought anything from iTunes was years ago, and the card is long since expired. 5) Wait 24 hours for email. 6) Email arrives - told I'll have to wait until 22nd to get an update.

    WTF!?? I only need the pasword to update an app on my iPad. Is there really no other way to recover it without waiting 3 weeks?

    Macbook pro keyboard cover.

    I recently bought a 2019 Macbook Pro 15" laptop and, hearing all about the keyboard issues, figured it would be a logical decision to buy a keyboard cover to keep the dust and crumbs off the keyboard. I found one on Amazon for 12 bucks that's rated at 4.5 stars with over a thousand reviews. However, one of the comments mentioned that heat is dissipated through the keyboard on the newer macbook pros. And, ostensibly, with a keyboard cover, the heat wouldn't be able to dissipate properly. Heat being another major issue of the macbook pro, I'm a little apprehensive about getting the keyboard cover now.

    What do you all think? Would blocking heat from the keyboard mess things up? Is a lot of heat even dissipated through the keyboard or is this comment just an outlier comment that I shouldn't be worried about. Should I use a keyboard cover all the time or is best to not use it at all?

    Managing an External Hard Drive

    I'm coming around to upgrading my 2012 MacMini to a 2018. (I've got a Mini and a custom PC sharing a monitor, KB&M) The hard drive options on the new Mini's are disappointing - an extra $400 just to match my current 500Gb drive. So, I'm thinking an external hard drive might bridge that gap.

    Let's say I've got the 128Gb onboard drive for the base model and an external drive. How do I manage what should go where? What files, folders, etc. NEED to be on the main boot drive? And, would it be safe to use a partition on the external drive for Time Machine?
