The factory cost of an iPhone 7 is $237.45. Only $8.46 of that cost actually goes to China. In fact, U.S. parts make up the largest share of the total.

Inside Apple's Long Goodbye to Design Chief Jony Ive

    Posted: 27 Jun 2019 09:34 PM PDT

With the news that Sir Jony Ive is leaving Apple to start a new independent design firm, I think it’s appropriate to share one of his most gorgeous designs ever: the “Quicksilver” PowerMac G4 and matching Studio Display

    Posted: 27 Jun 2019 03:08 PM PDT

This is my G4 on my family dining table, currently being used to play Myth II: Soulblighter and Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. I really think it's one of the most beautiful pieces of design Apple and Sir Jony ever created - it's timeless, somehow both futuristic and retro at once. Just remarkable.

Thank you Jony for making computers beautiful as well as functional!

My #1 desired iCloud Drive/macOS feature is finally here in the Catalina public beta

    Posted: 27 Jun 2019 03:21 AM PDT

    Behold: 'Remove Download'

Would post this on a beta sub, but they're pretty inactive for macOS and I reckon a lot of people here will be pleased to see this!

I've fully migrated to iCloud Drive for personal data, but the inability to manually remove large downloads I know I won't need has long been a sticking point for me. I want to be able to have control over how data is handled on my device even when the OS is able to handle most of it automatically.

Note: this also works on individual files as well as folders! And it's super fast.
