Posted: 09 May 2019 06:19 PM PDT Back at the end of March @tihmstar quoted twitter link a twitter account from a user named @ethanpepro. Stating that he was heading in the right direction for a Apple watchOS 4 - 5.1.2 Jailbreak. Soon after, April 6th, 2019 to be exact @ethanpepro made a tweet of a screenshot of him successfully getting tfp0 twitter link. This was great news and gave us watch owners hope for an Apple Watch jailbreak on >4.1. On the same day of that tfp0 post. Another twitter account @iiFir3z Note - this is his twitter name at time of writing this. It probably will change soon, but the link will still route to whatever name he uses in the future. @iiFir3z quoted @ethanpepro's tfp0 post on that very same day. imgur link Later in the day, this appears on @iiFir3z's twitter feed imgur link It was a tweet with pic showing that he is working on a Cydia client for jailbroken Apple watches. 12 hours later, he tweets that he has also had success jailbreaking watchOS 3-5.1.2 imgur link From this tweet on for a month he hypes up his Cywatch/Cyanide watchOS 3-5.1.2 Jailbreak. Showing teaser videos of a very basic watchOS/iOS app. Nothing he tweets proves any POC at all or if the jailbreak is actually real. Just beginner empty shell iOS/watchOS apps and text on screen which can be easily made with beginner knowledge running a project through xcode on those devices. Whenever he hypes up for a beta release, something comes up and he can't release for some unforeseen reason. imgur link Finally after a month of hyping and showing pointless videos of basic questionable proof, he drops an .IPA of his first beta. Which doesn't work, there isn't an info.plist found for install or other basic app requirements and is 500kb in size. Do you think someone who has supposedly made a watchOS jailbreak can't even archive a xcode project properly? I'm no JB dev/dev but I can even do that. He then releases this broken .IPA to his followers WITHOUT testing it first. imgur link Other twitter users start to call him out on his .IPA fail, he backtracks and delays release again imgur link He then realizes that he cant keep this up much longer, so he threatens privatizing his account. Starts throwing out names of other devs that were sick of the toxicity of the jb communtiy. imgur link Changes his twitter name to "At the verge of leaving." Reading all of this has definitely made it clear that this kid has nothing and is just farming for twitter followers. imgur link Not to mention he was also a part of the copypasta Tw3lve JB team. Which dissolved when they were called on their shenanigans. The point of this PSA is that if you care about staying on your jailbreakable WatchOS version and don't want possible malware take my advice. DO NOT INSTALL ANYTHING FROM HIM! You cannot restore a bricked/bootlooped Apple watch to an unsigned firmware version. It will need to be sent into Apple and be upgraded to the newest currently signed version. This will make you lose your pairing and your iPhone will need to be on the newest firmware, thus losing your iPhone's jailbreak (if you have one). There's too much on the line to trust someone like this. Read the signs. I will bet money that this charade fall apart soon after this post. You can tell he is just looking for some reason to call this all off. Well here's your out @iiFir3z's. | [Tutorial] Snap101 - The ULTIMATE guide to SC! Posted: 09 May 2019 02:25 AM PDT This post is probably going to be extremely long-winded and highly detailed so I apologize in advance for the book... I am writing this on mobile so there may be formatting issues... I'll try and fix those as I go if I see it's difficult to read. Please link back to this post for any Snapchat issue posts you see. As many of you have seen, Snapchat have been temporarily banning accounts lately, especially within the last day or two... This is nothing new when it comes to jailbreaking. In this post, I'm going to detail the do's and don'ts , what you can and cannot do and how to avoid a future ban. Remember, if you receive a ban, it's ultimately your fault. There have been countless warnings and advisements but I'm going to set the record straight, once and for all. A LOT of people here spread misinformation... That stops now. Snapchat have added additional layers of detection to the latest versions of the app... Those additional layers are what are causing the bans... The current tweaks (those that have been recently released for current versions) (Wraith 0.3/0.2 and DZSnap 1.0.5-5) are in fact undetected in 10.56.0.23 and will continue to be... They are NOT at fault... It is a combination of other tweaks that are running that are triggering the bans... For example: BytaFont / Eclipse / Flex / PullOver The current Snapchat version (as of this writing) 10.56.1.1 (released 3 days ago) has more than likely added detection for Wraith 0.3/0.2 and DZSnap 1.0.5-5 as they quickly gained popularity... DO NOT install tweaks on this version to be safe. This has not yet been confirmed but Snapchat are on top of their game considering these latest ban waves so I advise against attempting to tweak it with current tools. EDIT: The developer of Wraith has confirmed that 10.56.1.1 (the current version of Snapchat) does NOT detect Wraith. As for downgrading, I personally had issues with AppStore++ on my A12 device... Snapchat either crashes when launched after downgrading or AS++ simply refuses to do anything... I remedied this by using the Charles iTunes downgrade method... It's definitely an inconvenience but it does work - See here: https://medium.com/@dixitakansha15/how-to-download-older-version-of-latest-ios-app-from-appstore-91c28d2407d9 I'm going to break it down, step by step with options for those that want to tweak Snapchat and those that do not, starting with those that do not... If you DO NOT want to tweak Snapchat at all with tweaks such as Wraith, SCOthman, DZSnap etc. the following is a MUST for you: Install and enable Snapchat in UnSub, available from Nepeta's repo: https://repo.nepeta.me As an alternative, you can use NoSub or NoSubstitute, depending on what jailbreak you're running with which backbone.* This will completely disable Substrate/Substitute from injecting anything into the Snapchat app... In Laymen's Terms: To Snapchat, their app is running on a stock device that has never been/not currently jailbroken. If, in the future, you decide that you would like to tweak Snapchat, this will need to be disabled to allow tweaks to run inside of the app. Sidenote: I personally use the Liberty tweak from Ryley Angus (https://ryleyangus.com/repo/) in conjunction with UnSub - This appears to cause issues with some devices when downgrading Snapchat, causing a launch crash, so I have decided to remove it from this post. It's not needed but definitely an extra security measure. If it causes Snapchat to crash when enabled in Liberty, simply disable it. If it continues to run, leave it enabled. If you DO want to tweak Snapchat, there are a few options... Which you decide is completely your choice depending on what version of Snapchat you'd like to run with what tweak. If you have recently/ever been banned and you wish to downgrade Snapchat to an older version, you will NOT be able to login to Snapchat the regular way... They block this server-side. You will have to use a loophole which I will cover later (using Apps Manager)... Before we get to the direct Snapchat tweaking section, if you're simply wanting to be able to save Snaps without it informing the sender, you do not need to use a full fledged tweak... You can use mikoto available from http://cydia.akemi.ai and enable the "Disable screenshot preview" option within the tweak settings. This will allow you to screenshot anything in Snapchat without sending an alert. THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR SCREEN RECORDING! ONLY SCREENSHOTS. This works with ALL versions of Snapchat, systemwide, as it doesn't hook directly into Snapchat itself and will never be able to be detected by them. Let's break down the versions that are 100% safe to tweak... ----- Wraith 0.3 and Wraith 0.2 (BigBoss) ----- ! DOES **NOT\\** WORK ON A12 / SUBSTITUTE ! Snapchat version 10.56.0.23 WITH CAVEATS! SEE BELOW! If you have an XR / XS / XS Max, this is not currently an option for you... Move onto the next section... DO NOT USE WRAITH 0.1 ON ANY VERSION ABOVE 10.40.0.37 - Make sure it is Wraith 0.3 or 0.2 - Wraith 0.1 WILL cause a ban on all later versions. http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/debs2.0/wraith_0.0.3.deb http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/debs2.0/wraith_0.0.2.deb Ensure you have UnSub DISABLED! NEW UI ONLY SAVE PICTURES AND VIDEOS PICTURE AND VIDEO UPLOAD FROM CAMERA ROLL You CANNOT have the current tweaks installed without completing additional steps as they're being checked for: ANY Dark Mode tweaks (Eclipse etc.) Flex BytaFont PullOver If you DO have these tweaks installed but you still wish to use Wraith 0.3/0.2 with 10.56.0.23 you WILL have to install TweakConfigurator from PixelOmer's repo: http://repo.pixelomer.com - I recommend doing this regardless what you do and don't have installed. With TweakConfigurator installed, go to: Settings > TweakConfigurator > Tweak Select WraithV2.dylib and press Back (top left). Enable "Use Whitelist" by sliding the radio button. Click on "Apps" above "Use Whitelist" and enable Snapchat. By doing this, you're telling TweakConfigurator to only inject the WraithV2.dylib into Snapchat and block everything else... You can continue to use Eclipse, BytaFont and whatever else you'd like to... Once you've completed the steps above, respring and enjoy Wraith 0.3/0.2 in Snapchat without worrying about any other tweak injecting itself into the app, including any that you install after these steps. Remember, that this is currently only for those that do NOT have A12 devices. Both Wraith and TweakConfigurator are NOT compatible for these devices as of this writing. Once updated, these same steps will apply and I will update the post at that time. ----- Wraith 0.1 (BigBoss) ----- ! WORKS ON ALL DEVICES INCLUDING A12 ! Snapchat version 10.40.0.37 ONLY. http://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/debs2.0/wraith_0.0.1.deb Ensure you have UnSub DISABLED! NEW UI ONLY SAVE PICTURES AND VIDEOS PICTURE UPLOAD FROM CAMERA ROLL (NO VIDEO) ----- SCOthman For Snapchat (iOS11) (BigBoss) ----- ! WORKS ON ALL DEVICES INCLUDING A12 ! Snapchat version 10.27.1 ONLY. https://apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/debs2.0/scothmanforsnapchat_12.10.1-1.deb WARNING: DO NOT USE SCOthman For Snapchat (iOS10-11) - It has caused bans on many versions and the upload button doesn't. Ensure you're installing SCOthman For Snapchat (iOS11) - Everything works as advertised without ban risk. This version is not currently showing in AppStore++ for those with A12 devices... Instead of clicking Upgrade/Downgrade, click on Manual Install (Advanced) then click on Done on the top right. Enter 826205520 for the externalIdentifier and click Install to download and install 10.27.1... Ensure you have UnSub DISABLED! NEW AND OLD UI SAVE PICTURES AND VIDEOS PICTURE AND VIDEO UPLOAD FROM CAMERA ROLL DISABLE SCREENSHOTS FRIEND GROUPS LOCATION SPOOF DARK MODE IS POSSIBLE WITH THE SNAPCOLOR TWEAK ON THIS VERSION AND THIS VERSION ONLY. (http://repo.packix.com) (DOES NOT WORK ON A12 DEVICES) NOTE: There is a bug with SCOthman due to the servers no longer being active. Snapchat will crash when launching. To remedy this, simply enable Airplane Mode, launch Snapchat and then disable Airplane Mode... It will continue to launch as normal until you remove the app from the switcher and/or it is removed from memory. Simply repeat as necessary. DEVELOPERS - Please see footnotes at the end of this post. Snapchat versions 10.22 and 10.18 are also tweakable. There's really no reason to use these anymore as 10.27.1 is fully tweakable with both the old and new UI available. If you're wanting to use StreakNotify or any older tweaks (Snap++ etc.) then 10.22 / 10.18 is for you. DOWNGRADE APPS MANAGER LOOPHOLE: If you want to downgrade Snapchat versions but you're unable to login due to an "older version" error, you will have to use the Apps Manager loophole... Complete the steps as follows... It is VITAL you do not skip a single step otherwise you're at risk of triggering a ban.
NOTE: You will not be able to log out and log back in on a downgraded version if you've been previously banned... You'll have to repeat these steps. I hope this post helps clear up any confusion... I tried to be as clear as possible and I will attempt to help/answer any questions in the comments section... Thanks for reading! DEVELOPERS: SCOthman has been leaked/open-sourced. It looks like it's calling out to a .json file which attempts to install .png filter files into the /scof directory inside of the Snapchat data directory. It's trying to verify the hash YGxsaDInJ2tbJmdsYGVZZiZsbidrW2deJ2tbZ14mYmtnZg== but since http://sc.othman.tv is offline now, it doesn't have a hash to verify with scof.json so I'm assuming somewhere inside the code it's telling it to terminate.
